If you were to use Aboleths or the remnants of their culture as "big bads" in a home game, would you beef them up a bit?

At what age category are dragons physically mature enough to mate?

And have you ever used any of Rite Publishing's "In the Company Of" books?

I'd say young adult. Just like humans. Whether or not they SHOULD is up to dragon ethics and society.

I haven't.

I ask because, er, I had some rather unsettling mental images involving black and nightmare dragons.

Would assaulting humanoids be something those dragons do? Or is lusting after princes(ses) strictly a red dragon thing?

In the same way I beef up humans in games that use humanity as a big bad. Just as Karzoug is a 20th level wizard or Barzillai Thrune is a powerful inquisitor, so would I augment the main bad guys of an aboleth AP with class levels or the like. But I wouldn't change the baseline aboleth at all.

That's beyond the scope of what these boards are interested in talking about, and beyond the scope of my interest in providing answers for here. Topics like this are best handled at the game table, once you have the consent of the entire table that such themes wouldn't be destructive to your game's safety and comfort levels.

I just got Legacy of Dragons and am wondering why dragons, even metallic ones, don't seem to like mating with humans or any other non-dragon race?
Is it to cut down on Half-Dragons running around in Golarion? To make the setting's dragons different from DnD's? Or because the whole idea is kind of squicky?

All of those reasons are excellent reasons.

I've been playing in a Rise of the Runelords game and my PC is a magus from Nex. I've since done some reading up on the place and have fallen in love with it, will we ever seen an AP around Nex? At my table we've had Nex (the country) hold up Nex (the wizard)

Also what would Nex's (The country) views on the magus class?

Have you ever considered tweaking the alignments of the goblinoid species?

I love PF goblins, but their flavor makes me wonder why they're not Chaotic Evil. Hobgoblins as Lawful seems to fit, but bugbears don't exactly seem as chaotic as their pint-sized kin.

Can you give a description or idea of what each Kaiju looks like? If a kaiju is based/inspired by a kaiju from a movie as well?

Good day mr. Jacobs,

With the sorcerer bloodline and alchemist ways to obtain wings for flight, which set do you think is coolest, that you would have a PC of yours use, if ever the situation presented itself?

Bird, bat, or insect wings?

No plans to do much with Nex. Several of the region sin Golarion are "marked" by folks here as their projects, and Nex is one of Erik's, and Erik is very very busy these days. So until either Erik gets the time to sink his teeth into Nex or until he decides he's okay with someone else writing about it, don't hold your breath for much more about Nex other than tidbits here and there like we have been.

As for Nex's views on the magus? Neutral, I guess.

When we created the game, we didn't want to make changes to the alignments because we were super wary about messing with backwards compatibility, and now that the game's been going for years, now is not the right or appropriate time to change alignments. Feel free to adjust their alignments in your game if they don't seem to fit, but keep in mind that as much as folks love arguing about what an alignment is or is not, the fact remains that they're VERY broad strokes that can accomidate a lot. I could see goblins as neutral evil OR chaotic evil. As it happens, they tend toward neutral evil in the game in print.

None of these have been designed yet, so apart from their names and titles from Bestiary 6, you have all that there is I can share at this time.

Actually, I'll confirm this instead, since I know why you're asking this question.

There will be 3 more kaiju in Bestiary 6, but you'll need to wait until next year and we're closer to the book's release date to find out WHICH three. And the art's been ordered and they're in design, so "voting" for them isn't going to influence which ones go in. Mwa ha ha.

Bird, bat, or insect wings?

Sorcerer.

As for type of wings, that depends 100% on the character's race, personality, religion, homeland, and history.

As a follow up to that question, the Aasimar feat that gives wings limits the fly speed to 30 ft, where other classes that gain class features of winged flight get equal to land speed and good maneuverability. Do you know why this is, or care to speculate? Is it something inherent with the Aasimar?

I didn't intend or want to be antagonistic so I'm sorry about that :( I'm overly defensive...

Anyway, forgot to ask this previously: so are magic items of larger creatures usable by pcs? Like is Barl's siheidron medallion usable even though he is large? Or that gargantuan siheidron medallion that "statue"(that is body) has? I'm confused by this since some magic item loot call out that they are small gloves or boots and such ._.;

Not every rule needs to be the same. Some are better than others. Some are worse than others.

In this case, it may be that the minimum level at which you get wings as an aasimar feat is different enough to warrant a power change when compared to the bloodline option.

The general assumption for magic items is that they're sized for Medium creatures. For things like cloaks and rings that need to attach to body parts, I've always assumed they magically re-size to fit the wearer. In cases where a magic item is meant to be oversized and won't resize, it's generally called out in the text or has specific rules about it (as in the case for armor and weapons). If the item doesn't call it out (gloves and boots and such) my assumption has always been that the item resizes as needed, and my games still work fine without crashing and burning as a result.

Tiefling PC in Council: Absolutely.

Can you think of any published AP where a goblin PC wouldn't be a problem?

Can you reveal were on Golarion each Kaiju is found? Well other then Agmazar and Mogaru since we know they are found in the Valashmai Jungle.

Ah morning tiredness, the best time to ask questions I have half forgotten(and feel anxious about whether I'm messing things up socially again)

So Sir Aeryn Darvengian's patron is demonlord of perversion, does that reflect on how depraved he is? I mean, I get impression he is hedonistic and not particularly ambitious(as he is fine with ruling the prison and that is why he hasn't bothered to escape from there), but description of Socothbenoth makes me really worried about what sacrifices to him are like X-x;

Continuing on him, what wizard school would fit him best?

Who came up with Billiver Billigin and his, uh, most interesting class spread?

...Continuing on Billiver, how does one become alchemist 2/bard 1/ cleric of Sivanah 1/sorcerer 1/wizard 2 in first place? xD

Who came up with name Shriezyx and is it supposed to sound like shriek?

P.S. I've been thinking about this for a while so I really have to say it: Midnight Dawn is really cool name imo :D

It does indeed reflect on how depraved he is. AKA: He should be as depraved as you can make him while not exceeding your table's comfort level.

He's a generalist wizard (if he was a specialist, I would have listed his level by specialist name, not as just "wizard").

I created Billiver Billiven. Isn't he GLORIOUS? I've always told myself that if I ever do get into PFS play that he'd be the character I make (and indeed, when we first launched PFS I used him as a placeholder for a character for my PFS number but then never did anything with him).

You become that by gaining levels and selecting each of the levels one at a time as you level up. Same way you become, say, a fighter 7, except that when you gain a level, you don't be boring and just take another level in a class you're already taking levels in, unless you want to hit 2nd level just to mess with expectations.

Wes is the one who first invented the monsters, but I'm not sure if he also named them. I think he did.

And yeah, I'm pretty proud of the Midnight Dawn. Glad ya like them!

Yeah he is :D He is actually my favourite npc in that book(which is quite a lot since Magnimar book has lots of awesome npc)

I meant backstory wise though, did he somehow end up becoming Sivanah's cleric at whim? :O

But yeah, thank you for answers again :)

Suppose you had someone who had 20 levels with a wide spread. What would the CR be?

If such a character were being played in a solo game, what would have the xp to reach each level be?

Beyond what's in print, I've not really come up with any more backstory for him. Billiver Billiven is best when he's in enigma mode.

CR 19.

A 20th level character who has a different class for every level would require the same XP as a single class character.

Whether or not such a character would be less or more powerful than any other CR 19 creature or 20th level character... probably not, since it's a weird squirrelly case, but if it's fun, who cares?

Without robust rules for large-scale armies, that story element isn't one that we do, and as such a ranking of the "strongest nations" is difficult to do and kind of meaningless to do.

A nymph's favor lasts as long as the nymph continues to favor the person she gave the token to as long as the person carries the token. If the person gives the token away or loses it or even sets it down, the effect ends immediately. The person would then need to seek out his nymph patron for a new favor, which she might not grant, depending on the circumstances surrounding why he was a fool and a jerk and lost the favor. It can't be transferred to another character, and if the nymph who gives the favor dies, the effects end because you can't favor someone if you're dead.

Myrianna's is different, obviously, in that it DOES persist, but it can't be transferred to another character.

I wouldn't applaud that PC's player at all. If anything, I'd roll my eyes at that player.

I would ABSOLUTELY applaud that player's GM for having the patience and the creativity and the open-mindedness and the skill and the will and the time and the ingenuity to rework Runelords to make it work with a goblin PC.

Are there any balor lords (or other CR 20-25 non-unique outsiders) who have the class simple templates from the Monster Codex? Those templates are canon to Golarion; there's a rogue-template intellect devourer in one of the more recent Darklands books.

There are if you need a balor lord on the fly, but they're powerful and unique creatures. I prefer building them by hand by adding HD and special powers. If the adventure I was working on was tight for space though, I'd consider using one of those templates for a balor lord, since space-saving is the primary point of those templates. (Even though many of them don't actually save much space...)

I was mainly considering it so I'd have an excuse to give a balor a class's higher-level abilities without putting its CR past 25.

That's another primary reason for the templates to exist.

Still, I prefer to give balor lords unique abilities rather than class abilities, since that helps keep the game's variety going and keeps players on their toes and allows for better customization for the balor lord, since many class abilities aren't really all that great for monsters, thematically.

Building something with the character class rules is easier than building brand new content. Building a new monster is more akin to building a new character class than it is building a character. It's more complicated, and thus not strange if someone has more difficulty understanding the monster creation rules than the character creation rules.
