WOW.

You want another honor bestowed, now? Or would doing so tip the scales of balance to sway dangerously toward chaos and disorder?

;)

I know. I felt like I needed to scour my verbal centers with ammonia after I wrote that.

I'm going to say lets keep a nice balance and not bestow him any more honors ;)

Me? Honors?

I'm too shy... tee-hee!

Edit: removed my "misconceptions about old school games" rant. I didn't want to bore anyone. :)

Thanks for sharing that. :)

Out of curiosity, do you have your players post their own version of events?

And it's good that the spell is only a cantrip/orision. Otherwise, the optimizing-munchkin in me would go ... thanks, but why would I want to have that? ;) But like you said, it's just for flavor ... no one loses out on anything due to the unlimited resources of 0-lvl spells.

I couldn't imagine a spell that useless being anything but a 0-level spell. :)

During my previous Ptolus campaign I did maintain a journal where the players could post updates. I didn't want to do that for this campaign as the players have little time for that now.

I so rarely do campaign updates, honestly. There is something about the process I don't like. I have tons of notes that I take while running the game and review before upcoming sessions, but I have a low patience threshold for making those into a narrative. I am not sure why. It always takes twice as long as it should.

AB: are you gonna hook us up with that rant or what?

In other news: I keep watching people go into threads they ought notta.

A rant? Well, by gum, post it somewhere for us to sup on your bile!

It really wasn't very bile filled, but I could spice it up if you would like.

My patience for the assumptions that old school style games are an excuse for power hungry GMs to screw over their players and completely devoid of any compelling story is thin.

The rant pretty much boils down to that.

O.o

I have a crapload of the Novels, plus almost all of the Decipher CCG cards. Plus nearly all of the Wizards RPG books and half a dozen WEG ones. Plus all of the comics (up until I stopped collecting comics 2 years ago - reduced income and something had to go unfortunately, RPing and a small amount of CCGs won).

Really?????

Hmmmmmmmmmm...........

Ahh yes...now I get it. They certainly can be.

The GM who is so slavishly devoted to his "story" that he will do anything to force the players to follow that path pisses me off in ways I cannot reasonably express.

As of late, most of campaigns have been sandboxes.

There are always those threads.....and posts that make you wonder what people think.

Also that some should just not be allowed to vote.

Yep. :)

I have complete sets of most of them up to the Ep1,2 & 3 ones. I do have some gaps in them, but not many. Of the later sets I am missing more, but other than the final set they are all relatively complete.

Just got back from Treppa's concert. The concert was Copland, and included Lincoln Portrait... so the conductor spoke about having an african american president. And she said "you people" when explaining the night's songs.

Good night FAWTLers. Very pleased with my RotR prep. Especially the monster stat block cards I created with Excel.

Bed time for me as well. Good night all!

A quiet day, yesterday. Where'd Moorluck and Solnes disappear to?

Isn't she doing end of semester stuff? Probably pretty hectic. No guess about LPM.

I think one laptop is also acting on the fritz or unoperable, so only one can be on at the time. And given the Prof's comment, she's likely using the 'working' one to focus solely on that.

But yeah ... it's been diffferent w/o their usual frequency.

Ah yeah, I forget about the computer situation.

Man, I must have awakened more sarcastic than usual. I had to stop myself from rejoining, "tell us more inane details about your personal habits, please."

Dear Lord... it just struck me.

They're off doing cool things with Rone Barton. BASTARDS. I hate them! I hate them all! Runs from thread in a flood of tears.

Gooooooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!!!

SOrry for missing yesterday- so much work it wasn't funny. ANd it's not done yet, truth be told; I might be going off-site for even MORE hijinks.

Exercise regimen is going well. It's still just walking to work and back, but I'm starting to see some subtle changes and feel some not-so-subtle ones. I'm sleeping better, I feel more alert(although I seem to have become absent-minded, forgetting my thermos at last night's game and my lunch at home today...*sniff*), and I'm also a lot more cheerful and exhuberant, which is saying something.

Last night's RotR game was a blast. One of the players completely lost it after smoking my druid's peyote and burned down a wooden fortress we were supposed to explore. We ended up running away just as the fire began to get going in earnest, and me and a horse that I befriended ended up doing a Hollywood-style jump off of a ledge into the sea, and survived. This is the THIRD TIME this player has derailed the game(in a hilarious way, mind) using one of the elements(The first time was earth, as he created a gigantic pit trap for a fire giant he was supposed to duel and his friend made him fall into it, the second time was with ice/water as he used a forbidden spell from Frostburn to flash-freeze an entire building, cyrogenically preserving both villains and victims...What will he do with air, I wonder??!?!). I hope to have quotes from that game up soon, as I refuse to post anything on my site until I have the monks done.

Well..er...that's about it, actually. I feel great! What's everyone else up to?

Morning Freehold, good to see you again!

Funny you should talk about exercise, today is my four-month anniversary of going back to the gym, and I have to say the benefits are immesurable. I have been able to tackle a lot more chores and I have definitely felt a lot better. Kudos for starting up and keep it going!

ARRGH.

You two are just making me feel badly about cancelling my orientation session with the trainer yesterday, aren't you!? Did Julie put you up to this? My wife? Look, I rescheduled for Monday, okay!!! It's a rough week of grading and prep. I'm going!

Seriously, glad you're taking care of yourselves and to hear that it is worth it.
