So Catriana is hoping to talk Eglantine and Yomi into returning to the village, while Elias, his cat, Bren, and Cyrus stay at the mill?

Male Human Fighter 5 (Great Weapon Fighter)

I'll stay at the pond and heal up. Could you tell me how many surges I have left after getting back to full? I've lost track of my HP, sorry.

Eglantine Prakseda wrote:

At what point does Eglantine meet Yomi?

"Yomi! Apologies are worthless in this case, but please know that you were not entirely abandoned. There's a portal in the mill pond."

"Oh, that was nothing. When we have time, let me tell you about one of the cases I handled awhile back. I call it the 'Affair of the Lascivious Ghost.'" Replies Yomi cheerfully. "I am still on this earth by the grace of my goddess."

Bren wrote:

Spoiler:
Honestly, so have I. I'll need you to go back through the fight and count hp and surges -- I tried to bold all the damage.

Male Human Fighter 5 (Great Weapon Fighter)

Will do.

M Elf Ranger (beastmaster) 4

"Well, that's decided then..." Elias says ironically, "Wait... satyr corpses!? I personally think we should just take this opportunity whilst its offered. If the girls and Yomi miss this chance, then that is better than all of us."

Male Human Fighter 5 (Great Weapon Fighter)

"I'll not go down there without our entire force, Elias. The fey are incredibly dangerous enemies."

Bren's expression then turns dark.

"Of course, you weren't with us to find out."

Eglantine grins back. "Glad you feel like that about it. And that story has got to be worth hearing. We should go. I've no idea how long the portal will stay open, even with something as big as that bear going through it. It wasn't his fault," she adds. "He was willing to leave us alone if we'd been willing to leave him alone. Some creatures are like that - they lash out and then can't stop themselves. I should know, I'm a bit that way myself."

"Let's go then. Who knows what trouble you guys would get yourselves into without me?" Yomi limps forward. "You coming?"

Sovereign Court

M Human Expert 7

And then Catriana meets Eglantine and Yomi on the trail, wanting to go back to town.

Bren's expression then turns dark.

"Of course, you weren't with us to find out."

Elias immediately picks up on Bren's tone and says calmly, "No, I wasn't. I was here, investigating the pool and looking for any clues that might have helped us. I had no idea that a fight had broken out. I'm sorry I wasn't there to aid you, but we must approach the River King and any other denizens of the Feywild with caution and respect. It may well be that if they are so dangerous, we must be diplomatic in our dealings."

"What's back there in town that we have to delay our commission?"

Female human Rogue 5

Although Eglantine hangs back from the negotiations, she is desperately anxious to get to the portal before it closes.

"Froderick has only limited time. We should use it." is her only comment.

F Half Elf Bard 4

Catriana answers firmly : "First of all, how do you know the portal would close so soon ? For all we know it can already be closed or always open. Second, we caused a lot of mess over there. I think we should help the villagers, at least with cleaning up part of the mess we've made. In addition, we could check the satyr corpses for clues. They could even have a key to the portal which should prove very helpful for us. We should also talk with both the Reeve and Froderick, as the situation has changed dramatically - fey have attacked humans in the middle of the village. Lastly, we should rest, for at least a while. None of us is ready to fight more, as we're all wounded.

That being said, Catriana keeps on walking back to the village.

Actions! Eglantine, Yomi? Which way are you going? Catriana's going back to town, and the others are all at the mill. Speaking of, what are the mill folks doing -- waiting for the others to return, or something else?

M Elf Ranger (beastmaster) 4

Elias says "I fear we can wait no longer, I'm sorry my friends. The time has come for action. Come, brother!" he cries as he leaps into the pond.

The cat eagerly follows him in.

Female human Rogue 5

"Catriana, you may be right, and if you are you can tell me later." Eglantine runs swiftly back to the mill.

F Half Elf Bard 4

Not knowing that one of her comerades has already jumped in the lake, Catriana proceeds to the village.

Sorry for all the mess :)

Male Human Fighter 5 (Great Weapon Fighter)

"Elias, wait!" cries Bren. When the ranger and his panther disappear beneath the rippling waters of the pool, Bren turns to Cyrus and says, "I'm going after the damn fool. You stay here and tell the others what happened."

The fighter then dives in.

Ok, folks, it's going to be spoiler time. I don't much care if the players read the spoilers for each others' characters, but I want you to have the option not to. We've got Catriana, those in the pond, and those beside the pond (which will momentarily include Eglantine. Yomi, I still need to know which direction you're going.

In the pond:

Spoiler:
The bear is not in sight. DC10 swim checks to move laterally, DC15 to dive. Failing by 5 or more results in loss of a healing surge.

Male Human Fighter 5 (Great Weapon Fighter)

Spoiler:
Trying to dive : 1d20=6

Male Human Wizard / 5

I'm staying topside of the pond, for now. Waiting for anyone to return from the village.

"This all so very tiring," Yomi mutters as he follows Catriana and Eglandine back.

Catriana is going to the village, while Eglantine is going to the mill.

Thanks; I follow Eglandine then.

M Elf Ranger (beastmaster) 4

Male Human Fighter 5 (Great Weapon Fighter)

Spoiler:
My athletics is +11, so if it covers swimming, my check is 17.

Female human Rogue 5

Hurtling back to the millpond for the second time in a few minutes, Eglantine looks wildly around her.

"Cyrus - where did they ... oh no, don't tell me they've gone already?"

F Half Elf Bard 4

Pat

Spoiler:
Catriana arrives at the village. She starts by checking the tavern and the satyr corpses next to it, then goes to talk to the Reeve.

Male Human Wizard / 5

For Eglantine and Yomi / Beside the Pond

Spoiler:
"I'm afraid so, I guess Elias was itching for action since he missed our last foray," explains Cyrus. "Where is Catriana?"

Sovereign Court

M Human Expert 7

Again, please use spoilers while the party is split up. Just mark them for whomever needs to see them -- e.g., "In the pond," "Beside the pond," "In town".
Thanks.
Will try to get a real post up this afternoon; catching up from a snow day and a sick day right now.

Female human Rogue 5

By the pond

Spoiler:

"She went back to town to talk to the Reeve. Something about not leaving a mess behind us. She sounded like my mother. If Bren and Elias are down there, we really need to follow them."

Eglantine hops about, torn about where to go.

"Oh, this is so stupid. Come as soon as you can Cyrus."

She swan-dives gracefully into the pond.

Female human Rogue 5

Eglantine, Elias:

Spoiler:
The dark, murky water of the millpond suddenly jolts into motion, everything around you moves and the current carries you downstream with force you cannot resist. Rocks and stones in the water tumble and crash into you. You see Bren clawing his way toward -- what was once down, and is now up. More later

Bren:

Eglantine, Elias, and Elias's cat have joined you, swimming -- what was once down, and is now up -- toward the surface of the river. More later

Yomi:

Spoiler:
The movement is gone.

Cyrus:

Spoiler:
Something about the millhouse seems to have caught Yomi's attention.

Catriana:

Spoiler:
One of the men doffs his hat. "Thank ye, miss, but we sure appreciate you and your'n drivin' off that bear and takin' care o' these fey. Most of what was on'em they'd looted from the Knight. There's this thing, though, that one o'em had on its head -- we's kinda scared to touch it." He holds out a silver circlet, handling it via a scrap of burlap. "Doesn't belong t' any o' us in the village."

For Pat

Spoiler:
Yomi decides to follow his instinct and heads in the direction of the movement he just saw.

Sovereign Court

M Human Expert 7

Yomi:

Spoiler:
Your main choices are the front door, which Elias might have told you is locked and certainly looks strong, or climbing the outside of the building to the second-floor window through which you saw the movement.

F Half Elf Bard 4

In the village:

Spoiler:

Catriana takes the circlet from the peasant: "Thank you friend. I'll find some use for it". Catriana leaves the peasants to their work and goes on to meet the Reeve.

How does the circlet look like ? Is it magical ?

Sovereign Court

In the village:

Spoiler:

"Reeve ! I've been sent to represent my companions. I believe our valiant defence of the village should prevent any similar events on part of the fae during the next few days. Anyway, my companions and I will travel to the realm of the fey and stop the hostilities by them by whatever means necessary. As you can see, the mission you've given us appears to be difficult, but we will prevail.
Our investigations have discovered there is some kind of magical portal in the pond near the mill. The huge bear who we fought here disappeared in there. That is evidence against Froderick's guilt. In addition, due to the unknown length of the mission, We'd like to ask you to release Froderick, or at least give us some more time."

Diplomacy (1d20+13=31)

In addition, Catriana tries to feel (insight: passive=20, roll=13)if the Reeve can help her in some other way. If not, she proceeds to see Froderick
