Hey,
i recently ran the misgivings and used Tintagels great maps. Thought i share the cutout pieces i used:
Misgivings Tiles credit belongs to Tintagel
Riding Bull |
Starting of by thanking each and everyone who has contributed to this thread over the years!
We've been using maps like the Misgivings by Tintangel, but every time I end up uploading one of the "official" maps to our roll20-game, I get frowns from the players as they know everything to be bit more pixelated (I've tried all the tricks [and even bought the interactive AE maps-pdf] but it sure ain't HD compared to what has been posted on this thread) and assume rooms containing things that I will tell them actually ain't there (or stairs leading to wall in Foxglove Townhouse), causing unneeded confusion. It's easier to descripe contents of visually empty room, than room that visually has items that actually just don't fit.
So I started out sourcing some of the missing battlemaps to one of my players as I lack the skill and time to achieve anything as nice as what you guys have been posting. I give him rough guidelines what I want, while attempting to not spoil what is coming.
His first one: Shimmerglens by talented, Miikka Autere.

Very nice Riding Bull. I had done this one for that encounter.

You should be able to use maps on the boards for pretty much every normal (non random) encounter all the way up to the start of book five (and I working on those slowly). If you are missing anything let me know and I will help you find it.
PS... if someone would help me figure out the code for linking on the boards I might find some time to go back and redo the post from page 14 and update it with all the new stuff...

Ok I am gathering together the just the maps right now and making a list for each Chapter. Eventually I (or someone else) will update the entire thread list from page 14 I am sure. It is looking like that job will be a big one, unless someone can show me how to copy and paste the entire list while maintaining the BBcode. Rebuilding all of that will be a big project. In the mean time, for those just looking for maps for their game, here is chapter 1. And HERE is a google doc with the BBcode for what I have done so far if anyone should need to update this at any point. If I have missed anything please let me know and I will update it.

I had completely missed that one DM, Sorry! Didn't mean to step on your toes there :)
I actually had him make the Shimmerglens after I had him first make flooded Turtleback Ferry according to how it is on the village map and he got greedy and wanted to make more. He is now reworking textures on that Turtleback Ferry map and I will post update of it when he is done on it. I will add other buildings as a roll20-tokens.
I'm assuming compiling the list is a bit of work, which is why it isn't done regularly.

Oh no no no! There is no toe stepping going on! My toes are thoroughly untrodden! I am actually grateful to see anyone working on maps for the AP. We can have a multitude of maps for each encounter and let people choose which ones they want to use. I think one of the problems we have right now, map wise, is just that we are missing an organized list of maps, so that people will only duplicate their efforts if they feel they can improve or personalize a map in a way they find useful. I am going to be working on correcting that problem.

My map making player finished his version for our Turttleback Ferry flood map and it can be found here: Turttleback Ferry's flood by Miikka Autere. Now clearly that one is only complete with rest of the buildings in place, but it might be usefull for anyone else running their RotRL AE flood on platforms like roll20 or work as a base for anyone else making their own maps. I have both of them encounters happen on this one map for ease of game flow.
He is currently working on re-scaled version of Hook Mountain Clanhold using the original as a base, but fixing the scale. I know BWatford has made this one already, but unfortunately I ain't so fond of his style and rather have the more cave like feel of it. +Miikka keeps asking more to work on :).

I couldn't hold myself back and started remaking some of the maps myself. I try to rush Fort Rannick complete by thursday and just finished "Fort Rannick, Underneath" tonight.
Feedback is welcome!

Lovely work R.B.! Keep it up! I have added your maps to the template for this post (found HERE and I will repost the new list here eventually once some time has passed. I feel like I spam this thread a bit too much already :)

You know... I don't think I have seen that yet. That sounds very interesting!\
Thanx, ...well I know of those - they are great too. But the module refers to her notes telling the complete story including where she got the Sihedron medalion, and her wishes for transformation - so basicly both those 2 handouts referred to here, but also the story following - i.e. everything that can be learned from p.12 of the Aniversary Ed.
But thanks a lot for the awesome quick reply!

I finally finished working on Fort Rannick. Luckily my players didn't advance too fast last session and so I got more time to do finishing touches.
My basis for remaking this one was the cluttered look of the previous version, but I have to admit I got carried away and ended up overworking it more than I would have liked.. But I just wasn't able to stop.
The Hook Mountain Massacre, Part 2: Retaking Rannick
Fort Rannick, Underneath
Fort Rannick, First floor (1 of 2)
Fort Rannick, First floor (2 of 2)
Fort Rannick, Second floor
I split the First floor in half because of imgur reducing big pictures from PNG to JPG and I didn't figure a workaround other than this.
And to sum up our groups Hook Mountain Massacre maps, here are maps made by one of the players, Miikka Autere:
The Hook Mountain Massacre, Part 3: Down comes the rain: The Turtleback Flood
The Hook Mountain Massacre, Part 4: The Haunted heart: Heart of sadness
The Hook Mountain Massacre, Part 5: Harrowing the Hook: Hook Mountain Clanhold
We will be filling any possible gaps when we make it to 4th book, but I think this is it for 3rd book from our part.

Thanks Riding Bull, I'll definitely be using those Fort Rannick maps in a few sessions :)

The Clock Tower - I don’t think we have had a user created version of this yet. I ended up using the one in the book.
I plan on using this one by Dom C tonight: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2lm9i?The-Shadow-Clock-remapped

I think that is every map one might need for the entire campaign up until the end of the 4th module. Anyone see something that is missing? A few of them could probably use some improvement... but none the less, I think it is complete? At this point all that is left would be working on maps for Sandpoint buildings like the Cathedral, the Armory, the Theatre, etc. or making better maps to replace some of the sketchier ones

Kinda thought it was odd that there were no battlemaps for the outside areas of Fort Rannick, even though there is plenty of combat there. This was sort of a rush job so I didn't have time to make sure I included every possible detail, but I think it turned out okay.
It's HUGE by the way. I basically took the unit dimensions of the original map, which were 20 feet per square, and multiplied it by 4 (to get 4 squares per original square, 5 feet per square).
It is 88x116 units, 70 pixels per unit.
I probably should have sliced it into multiple maps. It's also pretty highly compressed because I needed it under 5 megs for Roll20.
Here's a higher quality (less jpeg compression) version for other uses:

I repeat myself from reddit, but wonderful work threelite! If only a 3 weeks late :D
Tonight they shall enter the Skull's Crossing and I must admit I regret not remaking this one.. I think it might be more of a problem with our newbie group, but when there is too much clutter on the battlemap, all of us sort of assume "that's there" and I fall lazy on describing the scene while the players fall lazy on asking what they see.
And that is why I know I failed on my Rannick remake. I got too excited to pre-include too much.

I have my own rendition of Nualia's journal. The version already posted is great, but there's some date errors (for example having the harvest during Gozran, which is in spring, or having the miscarriage of her baby happen after chopper's rampage, when the rampage should be during the coma she falls into after the miscarriage) and it stops with the miscarriage, not going into anything that happened after that.
So I took the first page of that version, changed a couple of the dates on it, and then took the Journal text from this wiki page http://wiki.interi.org/Nualia_Tobyn. I edited that text as well, and then added some entries describing how she recruits Tsuto, Orik, Lyrie, and Bruthazmus.
Anyway, what follows is the six pages of my attempt.
Hope you all like it.
P.S. Thank you all so much for all this work. It's come in really handy running this on Roll20. I hope that people can get some use out of my small contribution.

Since his post was in the middle of this monster thread, I'm not sure how to thank them, but those speeches for the beginning of the Swallowtail Festival by Callum were great. Thank you!
In other news, I feel somewhat regretful that I'm running my game IRL, as these digital maps are awesome. That glassworks one makes me cry, because I know mine is going to be crude lines drawn on my battlemap.
Digital Mystic |
Bakaninja, you should use the method posted by Jacenat over on Reddit. Linkification!.
Have your players kick in a couple bucks each and YOU TOO can have awesome maps for them to play on! I think once they see the results they will be glad to support the group.
