A little late, but here's my contribution:
Map of the Tomb of Tular Seft (size 48x33), scenic elements and tokens

This map is amazing! I love it, thank you so much for all your hard work!

Any idea on how the scale is for this? I am considering uploading it to Roll20 in pieces for a campaign but I'm not sure where to start with for distance scales.

In Roll20 you can ajust the map to 47,0197 x 60,4957 units. 1 Unit = 52,5 miles.

I can save it as a PDF. PM me your email and I'll send it to you through Wetransfer.

I believe you do not have the private message option enabled on your profile. I searched before I did my post and did not find the option on your profile.

Taking the advantage of the opportunity, could you e-mail me the PDF version (or the Illustrator file) too? My email is in the above post.

It's here: Golarion Megamap

Enjoy!

Extraordinary work, Dimity. I really liked the style you chose for the map.

If you allow me, I would like to translate your map's nomenclature into Portuguese for use in my campaigns. We could talk better by email if you prefer. Mine is gustavomalek (at) hotmail (dot) com

I'm assembling a timeline of the Golarion history (mainly because I like to have a visual notion of the extension of the time periods) and I began to wonder how long lasted the ages in prehistory — before Earthfall (Age of Creation, Age of Serpents and Age of Legends).

I know that Paizo has always left this open, but is there anything about this matter spread out in adventures, supplements or forum posts?

And you, how long do you think these Ages lasted? Being Golarion similar to our Earth, could we estimate dates based on our own history?

I'm specially interested in how long lasted the Azlant Empire.

Here's my timeline so far: GOLARION TIMELINE

quick question

is there a grid map of Sandpoint somewhere?

my players be finishing book 3 tonight, I am hopeful we'll have enough time in the game session to do the Sandpoint raid tonight (I'm excited). I wouldn't mind having a reference for how long, in rounds, it may take my players to get from Northgate to Tanner's Bridge for example.

if someone can point me in the right direction, i'd be ever so grateful, thanks.

I made one. Here it is:

Sandpoint Grided Map (264 x 390 squares - 1 square = 5-ft)

Updating the MAP INDEX posted by Digital Mystic in page 27. Template for this post found HERE!

** spoiler omitted **...
Just a sad note... it looks like rpgmapshare.com had to "reboot" and lost all the images in your links. Anything that was a link to rpgmapshare.com is gone. The other maps are still there.

Thanks for pointing this out. The next time the index is updated, whoever does it will have to pay attention to this, since there is no way to edit that post. It would be interesting if those who downloaded these maps could upload them again so we could redo the link.

Well, it's finally complete.

Below is the link to a google spreadsheet containing all the loot inventory of the Adventure Path Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition (all six chapters).

It lists all of the items (properly priced) indicated as treasures, equipment and gear carried by opposing NPCs and allies that may fall during the adventure (or be confronted by the PCs).

The list also tells the origin of each item, specifically mentioning each encounter. It also informs the weight of each item (in pounds and kilograms), so the GM can know exactly if the PCs can easily carry those 34 Doglicers and the gargantuan helmet.

It also highlighs the coins and the magic items, So the GM can find them at a glance.

You can make a copy of the spreadsheet for your Google account and edit it any way you whant (by adding columns, changing the names of items, adding items, etc.).

Well, enough talk. Here's the link.

WARNING: SPOILERS in the link below.

- RISE OF THE RUNELORDS LOOT LIST GOOGLE SPREADSHEET

@GustavoMalek - While prepping for my group's next session in chapter 2, Book 4, I noticed a few items missing from the encounter at the Storval Stairs in Journey to Jorgenfist in your excellent and extremely helpful RISE OF THE RUNELORDS LOOT LIST GOOGLE SPREADSHEET. I have created a spreadsheet following your format with the missing items (values, etc. calculated as in your spreadsheet, I think) - here is a link to Missing FOSG Loot. Please feel free to paste it into your spreadsheet if appropriate, and thanks again for taking on this monumental task.

Thank you, Tusk. I really forgot these treasures. Thanks for pointing it out. I already include them in my spreadsheet. =)

That's partially true. But it also gives flying PCs more maneuverability, since there are more squares free from the pillars' heat damage. Flying PCs are still within a couple rounds of Karzoug even at 10' scale.[/url]

Not only that, but the dragon has to fly through the columns as well. On the 5-foot scale map he could only make this flight amid the columns that accompany the stairs.

Well, I put tiles in my models, so as to make their scale more obvious for comparison between normal scale and doubled scale:

That is truly spectacular. You've inspired me to buckle down and get my terrain built in time for my game. I'm not planning on using dungeon tiles for the floor; I'll probably just glue down a print out of the map. But I really want them to see the elevation changes and the gold pillars.

    Great job.

I hope you post here the result of your work. It must be very cool to end the campaign with a scenario on this scale to impress the players. =)

That's great, Gustavo - thanks! Is there any chance you could make the first 35 seconds of that video available separately? I'd like to show that part to my players when they enter the Eye.

I may try, but not today.

Incidentally, this video makes clear an issue with the layout of the room as given in the book - namely, the PCs can't see Karzoug on his throne, and he can't see them, when they enter the Eye. The stated heights of the various platforms also seem odd when considering the stairs that connect them - the steps that lead to the observation platforms must be very steep. I think I'll switch the heights of Y3 and Y4, making Y3 130 feet up and Y4 140 feet up (so the steps from the throne to the runewell lead down instead of up). This means that Karzoug should be able to look down over the top of the runewell at the PCs as the enter.

Unfortunately, these changes will not be enough as can be seen in the images at the link below. The throne is far behind to be seen simply by placing the (Y4) platform above the runewell (Y3). It is necessary to place the throne at least 7.5 to 10 feet above (Y4) so that it can be observed from the arrival platform (Y1)

    Yossarian wrote:

Exactly the problems I ran into. Which is why I made the modifications I did to the isometric version of it. Basically widening the stairs so the Giants can use them, plus making the runewell 5ft.

My concern with doubling everything to 10ft is it substantially changes the encounter giving the defenders an advantage, since the PCs have twice the distance to cover to engage in melee.

You're absolutely right. I wonder if the designers thought of this when creating the scenerio. Certainly the scenario of the Anniversary Edition is much more interesting than the original, but this "error" of scale has great tactical implications.

After the TomParker alert, I decided to do my 3D model of the Eye of Avarice from scratch, but this time on the scale of 1 square = 10 feet.

EYE OF AVARICE - 3D view with measurements (scale: 1 square = 10 feet)

I also did a first person video touring the environment:

EYE OF AVARICE - First Person Video

After all this, I agree that the real scale of the map must be 1 square = 10 feet, and not as written in the book.

    TomParker wrote:

There's speculation that the map scale is incorrect. You can find the discussion way upthread, I think. The Runewell of Greed is described as 10' wide, which doesn't match the map. The rise/run of the stairs is all wacky at a 5' scale. The platforms at 5' wouldn't have room for the giants on them without squeezing.

I'm embarking on an attempt to make a physical model of this room, even though the 10' scale makes it huge. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

You're right. The scale was one of the reasons I made the 3d model. I wondered if it was possible for these giants and dragons to move around in this tight space. After analyzing I saw that yes, it is possible. I think it makes fighting even harder for the players, although the enemies do not have a lot of mobility. Karzoug would be protected by a barrier of enemies before anyone could get close to him.

I made this small comparative size of creatures in relation to the structure of the Eye of Avarice with the 1-sq = 5-ft scale.

EYE OF AVARICE - Comparison of creature size versus structure (1 square = 5 feet)

If you can export the model in STL format, then it can probably be made to work for 3D printing. Do you know a version number for the Sketchup you're using? If you google something like "sketchup export STL" and add your version number, you can probably find out if/how to do so.

It is the Google Sketchup v. 8.0.14346. It can only export to *.dae and *.kmz.

That's awesome. Did you use 1 sq = 5 ft or 10 ft?.

It was made with the same proportion of the map in the adventure: 1 square = 5 feet.

Awesome work. Could the model be adjusted for use in 3D printing, perhaps with some gridlines incised into the floors?

I imagine it would have to be split into several chunks that would then need some way of fitting together. Also it would need to be painted for best effect.

Still, this map is the final battle of the adventure. It would be pretty epic to have the precise terrain printed out to scale and painted nicely.

    Thank you, Tinalles.

I did the model in the old Google Sketchup. I do not know if this software is compatible with 3d printers or if there is any software that can do the file conversion to compatible 3d printers.

Two questions: Any way we can get a copy of this because that's a big list to print, and if so, is there a way to either filter or sort out without destroying the list? Either way, this list is still extremely handy!

    Yes, for both the questions.

I recommend you to make a copy of the file before you edit it (File Menu > Make a copy).

To print only a few rows, select the rows you want to print, then go to Menu File > Print, and select the selected cells in the dropdown menu in the right.

I received the email and everything looks right. I'll wait for the replacement.

    Thank you, Diego.

    Hello again.

So I waited one month more, and my order did not arrived. I tried to track it down in the post office, but without success.

Besides waiting more, there is anything else that can be done? Resend, refund?

    Thanks

    Hello

I made my first purchase of physical products in the Order # 4240235, and I received an e-mail in 03/03 saying that it was about to ship and the estimate time to arrive was estimated in 13 to 40 business days.

Well, I have not received this order and its been more than 1 week since it should have arrived (74 running days or 51 business days in USA or 49 busniness days in my country)

I waited and gave it extra time but it still hasn't shown up. Is there anything you can do to help me?

    Thanks

Yeah, You might be right. I don't have access to the Shattered Star adventure path. I did not even know she was on this adventure. I took my information that she was captain from the Pathfinder Society Scenario S07-03: The Bronze House of Reprisal. I think this information should not be considered canonical.

Again, I must say that I do not have access to this Adventure Path. I relied on the Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Magnimar, City of Monuments. However, I have now seen that there is an entry about information conflict over her class in the pathfinderwiki.com (link here).

Apparently, my information is right, but yours is even more accurate. Thank you. ;)

Yes. UE removes this limitation. It even places Brilliant Energy on the Ranged Weapon Enhancement table noting that it works with projectile weapons like bows.

This is odd. So why did not this limitation was removed from the Pathfinder Reference Document and from the most recent prints of the Corerulebook?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

Can a paladin with divine bond with his ranged weapon use the property of brilliant energy on it? By doing so could he shoot arrows of brilliant energy?

I ask this because in the CoreRulebook (page 470) the rules of the Brilliant Energy property explicitly tells that this property can only be applied to melee weapons, thrown weapons, and ammunition.

However, in the Ultimate Equipment (page 136) there is no mention of this limitation.

Divine Bond (Sp): Upon reaching 5th level, a paladin forms a divine bond with her god. This bond can take one of two forms. Once the form is chosen, it cannot be changed.

The first type of bond allows the paladin to enhance her weapon as a standard action by calling upon the aid of a celestial spirit for 1 minute per paladin level. When called, the spirit causes the weapon to shed light as a torch. At 5th level, this spirit grants the weapon a +1 enhancement bonus. For every three levels beyond 5th, the weapon gains another +1 enhancement bonus, to a maximum of +6 at 20th level. These bonuses can be added to the weapon, stacking with existing weapon bonuses to a maximum of +5, or they can be used to add any of the following weapon properties: axiomatic, brilliant energy, defending, disruption, flaming, flaming burst, holy, keen, merciful, and speed. Adding these properties consumes an amount of bonus equal to the property's cost (see Table: Melee Weapon Special Abilities). These bonuses are added to any properties the weapon already has, but duplicate abilities do not stack. If the weapon is not magical, at least a +1 enhancement bonus must be added before any other properties can be added. The bonus and properties granted by the spirit are determined when the spirit is called and cannot be changed until the spirit is called again. The celestial spirit imparts no bonuses if the weapon is held by anyone other than the paladin but resumes giving bonuses if returned to the paladin. These bonuses apply to only one end of a double weapon. A paladin can use this ability once per day at 5th level, and one additional time per day for every four levels beyond 5th, to a total of four times per day at 17th level.

If a weapon bonded with a celestial spirit is destroyed, the paladin loses the use of this ability for 30 days, or until she gains a level, whichever comes first. During this 30-day period, the paladin takes a –1 penalty on attack and weapon damage rolls.

    Winds

The wind can create a stinging spray of sand or dust, fan a large fire, keel over a small boat, and blow gases or vapors away. If powerful enough, it can even knock characters down (see Table: Wind Effects), interfere with ranged attacks, or impose penalties on some skill checks.

Light Wind: A gentle breeze, having little or no game effect.

Moderate Wind: A steady wind with a 50% chance of extinguishing small, unprotected flames, such as candles.

Strong Wind: Gusts that automatically extinguish unprotected flames (candles, torches, and the like). Such gusts impose a –2 penalty on ranged attack rolls and on Perception checks.

Severe Wind: In addition to automatically extinguishing any unprotected flames, winds of this magnitude cause protected flames (such as those of lanterns) to dance wildly and have a 50% chance of extinguishing these lights. Ranged weapon attacks and Perception checks are at a –4 penalty. This is the velocity of wind produced by a gust of wind spell.

Windstorm: Powerful enough to bring down branches if not whole trees, windstorms automatically extinguish unprotected flames and have a 75% chance of blowing out protected flames, such as those of lanterns. Ranged weapon attacks are impossible, and even siege weapons have a –4 penalty on attack rolls. Perception checks that rely on sound are at a –8 penalty due to the howling of the wind.

Hurricane-Force Wind: All flames are extinguished. Ranged attacks are impossible (except with siege weapons, which have a –8 penalty on attack rolls). Perception checks based on sound are impossible: all characters can hear is the roaring of the wind. Hurricane-force winds often fell trees.

Tornado (CR 10): All flames are extinguished. All ranged attacks are impossible (even with siege weapons), as are sound-based Perception checks. Instead of being blown away (see Table: Wind Effects), characters in close proximity to a tornado who fail their Fortitude saves are sucked toward the tornado. Those who come in contact with the actual funnel cloud are picked up and whirled around for 1d10 rounds, taking 6d6 points of damage per round, before being violently expelled (falling damage might apply). While a tornado's rotational speed can be as great as 300 mph, the funnel itself moves forward at an average of 30 mph (roughly 250 feet per round). A tornado uproots trees, destroys buildings, and causes similar forms of major destruction.

I have a doubt about the identification of the properties of magic weapons with enhancement bonus and special abilities.

    Quote:

SPELLCRAFT: You are skilled at the art of casting spells, identifying magic items, crafting magic items, and identifying spells as they are being cast.

Table: Spellcraft DCs: Identify the properties of a magic item using detect magic = DC 15 + item's caster level.

Common Uses: Spellcraft is used whenever your knowledge and skill of the technical art of casting a spell or crafting a magic item comes into question. This skill is also used to identify the properties of magic items in your possession through the use of spells such as detect magic and identify. The DC of this check varies depending upon the task at hand.

Determine Properties of Magic Item: Attempting to ascertain the properties of a magic item takes 3 rounds per item to be identified and you must be able to thoroughly examine the object. (PFCR 106)

    Quote:
Caster Level for Weapons: The caster level of a weapon with a special ability is given in the item description. For an item with only an enhancement bonus and no other abilities, the caster level is three times the enhancement bonus. If an item has both an enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster level requirements must be met. (PFCR 468)

What is the Difficulty Class of a Spellcraft check to identify the properties of a +2 runeforged longsword?

DC 28 = DC 15 + CL 13 of the Runeforged Weapon; or
    DC 34 = DC 15 + 13 (Runeforged Weapon) + 6 (3 x +2 Enhancement Bonus);

I have a doubt about the identification of the properties of Runeforged Weapons.

My players have succeeded in creating runeforged weapons in Runeforge in Chapter 5. Although they know that these weapons are effective against Karzoug, they do not know about the other properties.

What is the Difficulty Class of a Spellcraft checj to identify the properties of a runeforged weapon?
Let's say a player has runeforged a longsword +2, what is the DC for that weapon?
DC 28 = DC 15 + CL 13 of the Runeforged Weapon; or
    DC 34 = DC 15 + 13 (Runeforged Weapon) + 6 (3 x +2 Enhancement Bonus);

Also, if one of you lovely people could share the crest you'd used for house Deverin, that would be amazing, as one of my players is playing a relative of the family.

    As you wish:

House Deverin Crest: This was entirely my creation. As the family has farms and breweries I used the chalice and the wheat garb as charges.

Sandpoint Crest: This was inspirated in the concept of Connors in this post. As Sandpoint is known as the "Light of the Lost Coast" I thought to be appropriate to use the broken beacon tower and sun on a divided shield (sea and land) to symbolize the city.

Perhaps you could do a flattened image of the Magnimar Crest?

    Link Here

I have been meaning to do one myself but haven't had the time.

    So, here it is:

Magnimar Crest: Entirely based on the flag.

    And two more:

House Kaijitsu Crest: This was entirely my creation. As the family has Eastern origin, I used as an inspirational an emblem on the banners of the Japanese samurai. In my mind, it represents the glasswork.

Hellknights Crest: The Ennead Star serves as the symbol of the Hellknights, representing not just the knighthood but also its core disciplines. Based on the symbol found in the Pathfinder Adventure Path #27: What Lies in Dust (Council of Thieves 3 of 6) where is explained its meaning.

    I made more two:

House Valdemar Crest: This was entirely my creation. As the family once generated significant revenue through their fishing, shipping, and logging businesses, I thought it would be appropriate to use a ship and a fish as figures. The ring in the mouth of the fish symbolizes the wealth of origin family.

Pathfinder Society: Nothing new here. The Open Road Glyph is the worldwide known symbol of the Pathfinders as seen in Pathfinder Chronicles: Seekers of Secrets.

After reserching about coat of arms of the noble houses and organizations based in Sandpoint and Magnimar for my campaign, I saw that there are very few references about.

Based on few descriptions I found, I made the following illustrations:

House Scarnetti Crest: I made this based on the illustration of Titus Scarnetti with a mascle in his clothes.

House Derexhi Crest: I made this based on the description of the crest in the novel Blood of the City by Robin D. Laws: "a falcon rampant with a silver sword clutched in its talon".

Lord-Mayor Haldmeer Grobaras Crest: I made this based on the description of the crest in the novel Blood of the City by Robin D. Laws: "a pelican, its beak gaping, fishtails lolling from its pouch".

House Foxglove Crest: I made this based on the description of the crest in the Chapter II of the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path: "a heraldic symbol of a curious flower surrounded by thorns".

House Indros Crest: This was entirely my creation. I made it up that when Alcaydian Indros founded Magnimar he also began his house and took as an emblem the sea monster Vydrarch and his sword that defeated it on the field color of the god Aroden.

Aspis Consortium Emblem: I made this based on the description of the emblem in the Chapter 5 of the Pathfinder Campaign Setting: The Inner Sea World Guide: "Nearly 200 years ago, a Chelish ship put into port at the Osirian capital of Sothis, its sails marked with the emblem of three intertwined asps".

Did someone created a coat of arms for a noble house for your campaign? How are they?

RuyanVe, my map is in the correct scale and follows the exact pattern of the dungeon from the book.
