I admit, this will be a fanboi post.

But first impressions.. I was heartily impressed with RoRL Chapter One.. But the production values here have jumped a whole other level.

The art is amazing, the layout looks clean... The monsters are cool. The Harrow Chapter may well change minds about the Deck itself.

Masters Logue and Jacobs should pop the champagne cork- first glance says this is gonna be a hit.

And the hot swordswoman was revealed! Hope we don't have to kill her, just save her from the Queen and romance her. ;)

I want to tell you, representally for all of us who don't have the book yet, a heartfelt BASTARD! ;-P

Anyway, sounds good. Can't wait.

Yeaaaaaaaauugh!!! *head catches on fire*

...

I'm still waiting patiently.

Right on Watcher! Thanks for the rave review my man! Very glad you dig it! Your's is an opinion I highly value based on your excellent posts over on Blood of the Gorgon! This made my day!

The Reefclaw is downright fearsome for something that is only in the small size category.

Yay! Got my download link.

In related news, people who have the PDF now rule! :P

Just read through the whole PDF...

One word...

AWESOME!

I just downloaded the PDF and pounded through the whole adventure. Couldn't bear to step away! This isn't just as good as the high quality work of Runelords, it's better! The foreword wasn't kidding when it talks about every character being distinct. The adventure reads like a movie--I really hope I get the chance to run Gaedan getting devoured by his 'gator as he tries to flee. And the King of Spiders is awesome as hell. Plus, the Shingles Chase is the best system I've seen for resolving a chase and maintaining the dramatic tension.

Alas, still nothing here.

I hope you don't really wait until the Second Darkness Companion comes out to send it to me...

I am also sadly awaiting my PDF link.

I'm very excited about this path. Nice work, Mister Logue, sir!

I have mine.

Pphphpphphph!

I just got the PDF and while I haven’t read the whole thing yet, saving that for a four hour plane ride tomorrow, what I have read so far is an excellent piece of work. Mr. Logue, I must admit that up until now I haven’t paid too much attention to the authors of the modules that I buy. However, after the Hook Mountain Massacre, and then what I have read in this module so far, combined with the positive reviews of your other fans and your own words on this site, you have gained my interest and respect as a writer with a cunning mind who put forth a story that has me interested from beginning to end. I look forward to seeing more of your work, and have already decided to buy Hangman’s Noose as soon as I can to enjoy your take on a murder mystery. Well done good sir.

Also, the first time I saw the image of the Queen in the green dress my mind immediately thought of Louis Armstrong…

“Hello Dolly
This is Louis Dolly
It’s so nice to have you back
Where you belong

You’re looking swell Dolly
I can tell Dolly
You’re still glowing
You’re still growing
You’re still going strong…”

Anybody else get that reaction or am I just weird?

Liberty's Edge

Bah, still nothing here! I really, really hope I get my download links before the weekend.

This looks very nice. I have a hard time not thinking of GRRM's Cersei when I read about Ileosa. Since he's one of my favorite authors, that isn't a bad thing for me.

The art looks great too. I'm looking forward to this.

Liberty's Edge

Opened the PDF this mornign (I suck too apparently) and I am trying now to put my eyes back in my skull - the layout indeed is much improved and the intro has already got me hooked.

My poor players had to hear me touting the coolness of RotRL for 3 months before play now I'll have to keep my mouth shut this time. Maybe.

Well done folks!

I had to add my own kudos for this one. While I enjoyed the first AP I did have difficulties with the text font (even mentioned it in my review) from the PDF I read through that looks to no longer be a difficulty. For that alone I would have been happy but Mister Logue outdid himself on this one. Every character is memorable in their own way, and the major characters are just full of that Loguey crunchy goodness I've come to expect from him. He's rapidly moving up on my 'Kidnap and force to DM' list :)

Yeah... the font works a lot better in Crimson Throne.

The funny part? We're running it at 8.5 point, whereas the font in Runelords was run at 9 point.

Well, I can't say as I have any idea what you're talking about, but I can't help but think of the unofficial motto of the livejournal scans_daily community:

Stop bickering, you two. You're both pretty.

If it makes you feel better, I can abduct you, keep you in the boiler room for a week and then force you to DM for us.

Anyway, since last night I suck, too. Haven't looked too closely (I prefer reading it in print), but what I've seen looks good.

I was going to make a snide comment about British "cuisine," but then I looked up what kedgeree is and it sounds really delicious. Of course, it's not from Britain but instead from India, which alone would make me want to try it... if I wasn't a vegetarian.

It is shame the same cannot be said of our rugby team. And to the scots as well.

*Checks list* Ah yes Mister Pett... You've been on the list for some time... We have a lovely accommodation right next to Mister Logue here... You will have to excuse the condition of the basement but on the good side the river rats are far too large to use the drains to enter! :)

Yes I am quite insane, but in a good way! :)

I'll be the player in this AP, but I'm already impressed with the absolute godliness and daring of Mr. Logue. My wife will be running it. As she read through the adventure, I overheard an onslaught of "Ewwww's", and "gross," which must be moments that will please me to no end. I love those grisly, twisted, and pornographic gibberings. HMM was a delight to run, and I am VERY excited to be the player this time around.

I tip my codpiece to you, most foul and noble genius, Mr. Logue! Please keep 'em coming.

"Edge of Anarchy" feels like an entire AP in one volume. There's just a ton going on. Congratulations Nick. There is a lot of awesome here.

Spoiler:

in addition to the big scenes there's also a lot of great touches here:

  • I like that the Harrow deck enables PCs to identify. It gets that chestnut out of the way early.

  • Kroft uses lesser restoration to go without sleep during a time of crisis.

  • The raktavarna makes for a unique spy.

  • Dead Warrens is an evocative name
  • And it's a cliffhanger of an ending.

Well, “Hello Dolly” is a musical that I performed in during High School, but what I was referencing is a scene from the movie based on the musical where the woman named “Dolly” first appears wearing what I remember as a green and gold dress to the sound of Louis Armstrong singing the song I typed above.

Because of that I had a hard time looking at the art without grinning. However, after I thought about it, the images also resemble my ex a good deal. Heh, interesting thought.

I can already feel the abyss staring back at me ;P

Curse you, curse you to the great beyond! This first book was so good it has made me purchase both the Harrow Deck and the Guide to Korvosa. The amount of quality I'm seeing here is upsetting, and may cause me to keep my subscription going forever. I warn you, I'm willing to do it!

    Magnificent. Just magnificent.
I skimmed through the PDF and I was in awe. The new layout/graphic design is a work of art, full of atmosphere just by itself. And great illos to boot.

Can't wait for my print copy to give it a good read.

Paizo guys, you've done the trick once more.

But given the UEFA Champions League results it must really feel good to be a fan of british (especially english) football.

There aren't too many English footballers involved in this success, though, but hey, who cares for such little details ;)

But before I forget it, I'd like to add my praise to Master Logue. Enjoy your sweet moment in the spotlight, 'cause Grandmaster Pett's answer is coming soon. And there's no escape...

Great work, Nic, this adventure is a piece of art.
