Tamago RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16 |
Given that Pathfinder uses some monsters from Necromancer Games' Tome of Horrors, I thought that you all might be interested in the fact that it's available today as a free pdf as part of the RPGNow Thanksgiving Giveaway.
As I understand it, they'll be changing up the free offerings every day this week, so download it before it's too late!
Thanks,
Tamago

I wish the guy that was complaining about the inclusion of Tome Horrors creatures were here.
I wasn't complaining, but I was thinking, "Damn, now I need to buy The Tome of Horrors".
Except, thanks to Tamago, now I don't. You rock, T.

The offerings do indeed change from day to day, and some of the best ones are only available on one day.
Runequest, for instance, was yesterday. Tome of Horrors today. Friday, I believe, there is something from WotC.
But the list for each day is extensive.
I missed Hot Dudes 01... *sigh* at least it was a download issue and not having forgotten about the event.

Peace friend, you're right, you weren't complaining. :)
You also weren't the guy I was referring to..
There was another person who got a little vehement about it. There as strident discussion about whether the stat blocks contained enough essential information, and was there a picture of the creature available and so on... and comments about whether the Pathfinder product was giving him fair value for $20.00 without a full creature write up with the monsters utilized.
I'd point you to the thread, but actually.. I shouldn't have made the remark in the first place. Now that I've established that I didn't mean you, let's allow it to drop.

It doesn't seem like anything good today though. Although that Monk's Feats book looks okay (for free no one's cryin'). What does everyone else think. See any must haves on today's download list?
not really, tomorrow's list has a pirate's map pack that might fit well with STAP, and the WOTC book of challenges. I'll most likely grab everything d20 and judge after that anyway, since all that it costs is some time and hard drive space. Today theres the Xcrawl rulebook, and the open core quick at least deserves a look...mostly those and the monk feats today

I grabbed everything myself... greedy like that. I'm actually pretty keen on the Conan setting book, I like the novels and the world (anything low fantasy and Sword and Sorcery). The Xcrawl i'm curious to look through, I had a friend of mine try to run a game in that setting about a year ago. Didn't go off too well (primarily because we didn't have enough players).
The non-d20 stuff i'm mostly curious to peruse. I'm looking to run a game in the future that isn't high fantasy but either modern (horror or other) or sci fi, so while the other supliments might not be actually playable for me, they'll feed my thought process.
I'm stoked for what tomorrow might bring. I love free stuff!!

The XCrawl Core Rulebook. It's an awesome game. This one has been on my wish list at DriveThruRGP for a long time now. Very happy to pick it up for free. I already had ToH so I didn't need to get that. I am looking forward to the Book of Challenges tomorrow though. I've wanted that book for a few years now.
As for the other stuff, a lot of the PDF's looked quite interesting. And for their price (i.e. FREE!) you can't really go wrong.
