What kind of alien are Gnomes?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

"While gnomes are generally no more evil than the
other races, their alien thought processes and adherence to an
unconventional moral code tend to make other races uneasy."

Could somebody me please explain, what that means? What kind of unconventional moral code do they have? Why are the alien thoughts of the gnome are mistaken for evil, as the context indicates?

I come home in the morning light,
My mother says "When you gonna live your life right?"
Oh,mother,dear,
We're not the fortunate ones,
And gnomes,
They wanna have fu-un.
Oh,gnomes,
Just wanna have fun.

The phone rings in the middle of the night,
My father yells "What you gonna do with your life?"
Oh,daddy,dear,
You know you're still number one,
But gnomes,
They wanna have fu-un,
Oh,gnomes,just wanna have
That's all they really want.....
Some fun....

When the working day is done,
Oh,gnomes,
They wanna have fu-un,
Oh,gnomes,
Just wanna have fun....

Gnomes,
They want,
Wanna have fun.
Gnomes,
Wanna have
(fades)

ROFL! Yes we Gnomes just wanna have fu-un.

Good to know I wasn't the only one under the influence this morning...

Gnomes in the Pathfinder setting are fey creatures. IIRC they were magically created by the host of the faerie realm to interact with mortals and facilitate understanding of the mortal world. so they are basically mortals built by faeries who never understood what mortals were in the first place.

Hope that helps.

The Chinese (though none that I know) are now putting a chemical in our toys that converts to the date rape drug (Aquadots in the US, Bindeez in Australia). How's that for alien thinking? Curioser and curioser.

So just have your future Gnomes drug kids for no clear reason and their thought process will seem quite alien. I'm glad I could be of help.

Are you serious, Jade? Christmas toys may be on the line here, so a bit more info or a link to a relavant article would be nice.

It's all over the news, bro. Aquadots (US) aka Bindeez (Aus). There's a product recall.

It's like... what's next? This is about to become Halloween 3: Season of the Witch where kids put on masks that turn their brains into bugs.

This link should help.

I'll just bet perverts are running to the stores to grab the last of these Ruffie Sno-Cones from the shelves.

"Molesting just got fun and easy!"

Ug.

Excellent!

I have a soft spot for gnomes and it is nice to see something exciting happen with them in Golarion. Paizo keeps hitting homeruns in my opinion.

Gnomes in my homebrew were evil but had a change of heart after they were nearly wiped out by humans. They still have some tendencies though and many people don't trust them. So it looks like not only will gnomes in Golarion will be cool but I can mine details from them for my own homebrew as well.

Well, I thought it was because Gnomes arrived on the great space coaster to Golarion to spread the word that gno gnews is good gnews.

Wow, DarkArt.... That was something that slumbered peacefully in my memory and perhaps would never have awoken. Curse you! ;)

Back on topic, I gotta say that Golarion gnomes are shaping up to be pretty cool so far. I really dig the fey connection and the fact that they look so... unlike how gnomes are typically represented in D&D.

That sounds cool. I'm enjoying the ambient, quasi-sinister element of Sanos Forest. I haven't really introduced Gnomes yet to wait and see what you come up with.

At least I didn't force anyone to see what I had on my portable, pocket television for the day. The censors would have a field day.
