Faintly glowing algae tints jagged stone walls in a green light. A fine silt that clouds the water with every movement covers the bottoms of the chamber, though it settles seconds later. Clearly manufactured steps start at the base of the floor and sink to deeper waters in the flooded room to the east.
But enough of that. Carnivourous aquatic life teems in the chamber. Looks like they're hungry for you. 3 eels and some kind of shark? Seal? Whatever, they're out for blood.

Just to clarify: Evindal made 3 Moderate Dark Vision (1 hour duration) as part of his Advanced Alchemy (so they can be used whenever you want during this day) and gave them to: Mrs. Perkins, Shayla, and Henri (the first three who asked). He's also given everyone a Sea Touch Elixir (that could have been consumed before entering the water) which gives a swim speed 20' for 10 minutes.
Before entering the water Evindal quaffs his own two elixirs (darkvision and sea touch), as well as the potion of water breathing of course, so that he'll be able to see and maneuver in the murky water.
Evindal swims forward to be able to see the creatures and then quickly hurls two bombs, both designed for underwater action!
◆ Swim/Stride 20'
◆ Quickbomb Moderate Sticky Algae Bomb, Bless, no lesser cover, 30' range vs. Purple: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 12 + 1 = 28
Sticky Algae Bombs are designed for underwater and don't take normal penalties for underwater combat (which I'm not actually even sure what they are anyway!)
Poison dmg: 2d8 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 + 4 Poison splash dmg (to Purple, Red, and White); on a miss (but not a crit miss) the bomb does 5 Poison splash dmg to (only) Purple.
◆ Quickbomb Moderate Sticky Algae Bomb, Bless, no lesser cover, 30' range vs. Purple, MAP: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 1 - 5 = 10
Poison dmg: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 4) = 12 + 4 Poison splash dmg (to Purple, Red, and White); on a miss (but not a crit miss) the bomb does 5 Poison splash dmg to (only) Purple.

Evindal's bombs seek the purple creature. Caught off guard, the bombs critically explode in its face, hurting the others nearby.
Two eels surge from their rest. The white eel Evindal hit comes first, practically crawling along the cavern floor.
Even is Klank: 1d2 ⇒ 2

Piercing: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 6) + 8 = 16
Athletics to Grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Klank reacts immediately to raise his shield and absorb some of the blow, but now he's caught in its maw!
A Yellow striped eel swims around the corner and 10 feet above the cavern, lunging at Evindal and holding on to him.
Bite: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32

GM, just checking the bomb math. If the first bomb was a crit on Purple it should have taken 20, not 16 (8x2 + 4 from the splash). And if the 2nd bomb was a miss but not a crit miss then Purple should have taken another 5 dmg from that bomb, for a total of 25 dmg. Please disregard if there are other factors but just wanted to be sure you weren't missing out on the splash dmg since it's such a huge part of what alchemists do.
| GM chadius |
Thanks for keeping me honest, Evindal. I haven't played alongside a lot of alchemists.
Shayla's needles pierce the eel's flesh, but it's not as hard as it should be. Must be some kind of piercing resistance.

Swinging a staff underwater is tough. That would have been a critical blow on land, but the water blunts Joli's aim. Its thick hide blunts some of his impact, but it still leaves a nasty bruise that bleeds into the water.
The Red eel swims up but it can't do much, the other eels are blocking the way. The Purple shark-like thing is small enough to swim under the eel and tries to bite Joli.
Bite: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Piercing: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Plus 1d6 Bleed

Kernal is surprised by the power and viciousness of these oversized sushi rolls. "Keep the ranged clean so they can support us up here, blood will flow quickly." Unless otherwise stated, the ceilings are 10 feet high. The structure is made of worked stone. There are no light sources in this dungeon.
Something has torn the stone tiles from this room, exposing red-streaked white soil beneath. Sections of the wall have collapsed or been torn apart, changing the room from the typical, straight lines of worked stone to a more organic shape almost like that of a skull. Klank feels a divine presence holding back his aim. It's enough to hit the Green furred demon with his Cold Iron Warhammer. It hisses in pain, hurting much more than Klank would suspect. He must have found some kind of weakness.
Evindal takes a moment to ponder the demons. They are wrecker demons, also known as abrikandilus. That would explain why the cold iron did so well- they are weak to it. If someone was sanctified they could use the powers of Good to hurt them as well. These demons love destroying beauty and are terrified of their own reflection.
Were they responsible for desecrating this temple, except for Droskar? Maybe they were summoned from his realm.
Evindal, these demons are related to what happened to the Dwarven cities. You can take advantage of this with Free Action Recall Knowledge checks.
