I just did a test by searching for "rivani", and I get five images. But the female checkbox shows (0) and if I click on it, I get zero images.
Similarly, if I don't do any name search, the female checkbox has (1015) just like it did before, and if I click it in, it only shows the old avatars.
To me this suggests that whatever new avatars may have been added haven't gotten their gender metadata set and aren't being seen as female.
Mwahahahaha!!
Just do sort by date, I almost never sort by gender anyway, but my experience is yes, that part does take awhile to get sorted. :-)
I did a search for Abrogail and got all the new images, if that helps. :-)

Any chance that the new avatars will have genders assigned? Filtering by female still doesn't show any of the new avatars.I dare you, I double dare you, I triple planefullofsnakesmothering damn you, assign my avatar a gender. Just go ahead, try, make my day ;-)
I'd assign it to "Iomedae", which is totally a gender according to the avatar filters.

I'm curious why some art assets are not available as forum avatars, specifically:
Giles Halmis (Skull & Shackles 3 of 6)
The Eel (Skull & Shackles 4 of 6)
Krant (Masks of the Living God)
Ifrit (Advanced Race Guide, Blood of the Elements)
When some other art assets from those same books are, for example:
Sylph (Advanced Race Guide, Blood of the Elements)
Tsadock Goldtooth (Skull & Shackles 3 of 4)
Vailea (Skull & Shackles 4 of 6)
So picking an avatar image today and have to ask since I'm clueless lorewise with Golarion. Why is Iomedae listed as a gender?

Stubborn glitch. "Iomedae" got entered in the wrong field and now resists deletion.
(I.e., nothing to do with Golarion lore, just a text entry error.)

Without knowing anything specific about these images, in the past, Chris has said this...
Sometimes artwork doesn't lend itself to fitting our requirements for avatar images (image quality, composition, brightness, clarity).
... and this...
the main reason why you may not see a piece of artwork from a product in our avatar list could be that it didn't scale favorably (loss of detail or awkward proportions).

There is also the possibility that those avatars DO exist, but have been claimed by a Paizo staffer or contributor as a unique avatar, and are therefore unavailable for public consumption.
This may be oddly specific but could you perhaps add Ruan Mirukova to the available avatars? He is pretty cool-looking and most if not all of the others in the same Paizo blog page are available.

Is there any chance of making the authentication timeout longer? It's kind of annoying to browse through avatar images and every fifteen minutes it throws you back to the login page to login again and then you have to start the browsing all over again. If it could be lengthened to 2-3 hours that would be great but even to just an hour would be wonderful.

I remember there being a parrot, I think. Blue and Green maybe.
