Just seven doom? Pshaw, back in my day we used to deal with at least twelve, and that was considered an easy encounter. Kids these days just don't know how good they have it.

For those of us AP subscribers who would rather have the hardcover will we be able to switch this out without losing our sub for the month, especially those of us with the Legacy subs?
Love this!! The range is perfect for my tastes and I love the hardcover treatment.
Two questions, though: will this be accompanied by a Foundry module at launch, like all the other recent APs? If so, which PDF will give the discount? I assume you might not have an answer just yet, but it would be nice to know well in advance to avoid buying twice.
Greetings! I have come to Inform you that the CS team should be able to assist in modifying any subscription orders for this product and to ensure you get the correct cover you desire, please email : Customer.service@pazio.com with any inquires you may have regarding changes to your pre-orders/orders before time of release.
I know this may not be the case but would the remastered Thassilonian Wizard Archetype be in this or was that not planned?
This adventure was written as an OGL adventure and it is being published as an OGL adventure, so nope, there were never any plans to include any remaster content, including the Runelord archetype, in it.
We'll get to detailing more about how the Runelords (both the archetype and the powerful wizard tyrants) function in the Remastered rules some day, but not in this adventure, which does start to set up further Runelord-adjacent stories I've got planned for some time in the future.

I'd love to get this, but I am a normal AP line suscriber and wouldn't want to double the product. I guess there is no option to order this as an "instead of", rather than an "and"?

That has come up here before: Check the post three posts above yours.

I'm really excited to hear that!
It seemed that 2e was shifting to Absalom and the Starstone Isle as its new focus. I always greatly enjoyed Varisia, though, and this comment gives me hope that we'll get to see more of it in 2e!

So they did. I should have checked upthread more carefully. Thanks!

Yup!

We're not sure yet whether there will actually be a "hardcover edition" version of the PDF, but regardless, the PDF discount for the Foundry module will be based off the price of the standard edition.
Worth noting also: like the print version, the Foundry module of Seven Dooms for Sandpoint will be released as a single mega-adventure rather then as two separate volumes. We just might be adding some cool surprise bonus goodies this time around to celebrate Big 200, too...
I'm curious, how much of this AP is based on the 1E Sandpoint, Light of the Lost Coast campaign setting book? The cover art seems to suggest it is.
Well, the author of Rise of the Runelords, Vol. 1, Burnt Offerings and Sandpoint, Light of the Lost Coast wrote it, so it is all from his head. I'd say that is about as consistent as could be. :)

It's 100% based on that book, and builds off of several of the adventure seeds mentioned in there. I made a few changes here and there to some stuff, but for the most part... "Seven Dooms for Sandpoint" is a perfect companion piece for that book, and it's a perfect supplement for the adventure.

Probably hopeless but asking doesn't hurt: since this will be very related to iconic first edition material, any hope for an official conversion to 1E, or maybe just official guidelines on how to convert it?
I kinda feel James already has all the material in 1E for this one so it would not be that much work to add it, but maybe I am wrong.

No plans to do so, and I don't have the material in 1st edition. I wrote the adventure from the start as a 2nd edition Pathfinder adventure.
When I ran this adventure for folks here at Paizo many years ago, it was mostly an ad-lib thing by me, using a combination of adventures from several different game systems, stats from various Pathfinder publications, and whenever the PCs were confronting a significant creature or NPC with stats I created the night before. The rest was all hand written notes or very rough outlines in Word.
The adventure as a fully written-out product only came into existence a few years ago when I wrote it all up for the first time in 2nd edition.

At current market prices, a bit more than one silver piece. :-)
I am confused by the Note about AP subscribers, which doesn't really make sense. AP subscribers would get the free PDF through the softcover version, anyway. Is this supposed to say that if I preorder this book I get a free PDF, even if I am not a subscriber?
No, it means that if you are a subscriber and you preorder the hardcover before release, you will receive a free PDF of it.
Thanks for confirming that. Still doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me. Other hardcovers in the past were compilations of multiple previously published softcovers, so it made some sense for subscribers to get the hardcover. With this one, you get both the softcover and the content-wise identical hardcover in the same month, plus the exact same PDF twice (technically).
I feel like an option to swap the hardcover with the softcover would make way more sense from a subscriber's perspective.

The PDF version comes with the standard Interactive Map set. There is not a unique Flip-Mat to go with the AP like there is with stand-alone adventures.

That’s what I did by emailing CS. The text on the page is to confirm that subscribers can get the pdf despite this not being part of the subscription. If it were part of the sub, subscribers would have to opt out or get both the paperback and the hardcover in their order.

Emailing CS let's you switch to the hardcover.
Oh, wow, that's great to know! Thanks, I will do that.

With it starting up at fourth level, I wonder how viable it would be to start the players in Sandpoint at 1st level and run through Burned Offerings to get them to four.

Yup. That's a great way to do things, but you'll want to end "Burnt Offerings" when they're 4th level and then do a "17 years later" time jump with them having just lived out normal lives in town before the next thing happens.
Seven dooms of Sandpoint is an unusual cat in this particular product line, so I need to ask: since the paperback is volume one of one, and the hardback is a compilation of a single volumes worth of material…is the plan still to strip all of the backmatter articles and toolboxes for the hardcover treatment per usual?

This isn't a compilation as much as it is an alternate cover printing. The contents of the 200 page softcover are pretty much exactly the same (see spoiler below for clarification) as the contents of the 200 page hardcover. Both contain identical backmatter and toolbox articles.
Spoiler:
I can't say EXACTLY the same, because we put maps of Sandpoint and the Sandpoint hinterlands on the inside covers of the softcover, as we often utilize our inside covers in the line. The inside of a hardcover doesn't allow for as fine detail as we prefer for maps and we generally don't put artwork on the inside covers of hardcovers anway since they have endpapers, so those maps in the hardcover are represented in the hardcover as a poster map. There was talk at some point of replacing two advertisement pages in the back of the hardcover with these maps as well but I lost track of if we did that too.
