The artwork inside is beautiful.
I Wish I could find a PDF character sheet to print out though.
The red cover looks really nice

The cover for the deluxe sets a new standard. Absolutely gorgeous.

Hoping mine comes in before Tuesday, so I have some reading material for the flight to GenCon.

it is pretty gorgeous, the bestiary as well. So glad they Game Masters Guide is done the same its going to be an amazing set. It has a double ribbon bookmark and the gold embossing is beautiful. Very glad I opted for this edition.

Had mine pre-ordered for months, but still not shipped even after release, even though it says "available now". No PDFs either.

You won’t get a PDF with the deluxe edition (they are only gifted free to subscribers, who get the standard cover).

A preorder should be at least pending by now - if you haven’t had even that email confirming it’s “about to ship” I’d contact Customer Service through their dedicated forum as they don’t routinely read product discussion threads.

I’d definitely get onto them if you also preordered the Lost Omens Campaign Guide as the latter was delayed and I did see some people whose entire order was held up as a consequence (CS could manually untangle the order and send out what was ready).

No PDF with purchase really hurts.
We're paying for a premium cover and a ribbon but don't get a copy of the pdf?

Part of it is maintaining the value of their subscriptions. By Paizo policy, the only way to get a free PDF is to subscribe - that makes the subscriptions valuable (or at least offsets the higher-than-usual shipping costs). If they begin making exceptions, the perceived value of being a set-and-forget subscriber drops and although they may sell more deluxe books, they may lose out on a handful of subscribers - arguably the most significant element of their customer base.

It means their Premium rulebooks have a lower value, but the subscriptions-are-the-best policy is what underpins Paizo's success. They are prepared to lose out on some deluxe copy sales in order to support their subscribers.

FWIW, there have been some deluxe covers for sale already on secondhand sites, so there are some lower costs options around and will presumably be more going forward if you're not in a rush. The most cost-efficient, but time-expensive way to get everything is probably to subscribe to the regular copy now and keep an eye out for discounted deluxe covers down the track.

There won't be a good answer for everyone though.

I can't find any CRBs at the moment, but here is a deluxe Bestiary that is heavily discounted.

Yeah I get that, I wish they had offered this as an upgrade for the core subscription.

I don't want both a copy of the deluxe and a copy of the standard rulebook, but I do want a deluxe and a pdf... Normally I'd just start my subscription with the new core rulebook and gobble up the free pdfs, but that's just not an option the way this is offered.

Time to bookmark the SRD!

That’s a fair point. You certainly weren’t alone.

Does anyone know if this Special Edition Hardcover is the second printing or first? There's a lot of errata to keep track of if its just the first...

I have never heard of Special Editions being reprinted after the initial printing sells out.

It's almost certainly the first printing.

Because the Special Editions are released at the same time as the regular editions and are not reprinted, they are always 1st printing.

Not reprinted? This gives me anxiety about the Special Edition Core Rulebook I got at GenCon 2019.

Question with the recent rise of interest in PF2e has there been any talk about a second print of the Core Rulebook Special edition?

Radiant Oath

I expect reprinting this version is a non-starter, but I would be interested in a Special ORC Edition.

Has this been reprinted?
