A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-4.
Although the Society was unaware of what existed within the false moon Salvation's End when it obtained exploration rights, Starfinders have since identified a vast, uncharted megacomplex within. The Society's ready to launch its first major expedition into the interior, yet there is one slight complication: in order to fund its initial survey missions, the Society accepted a grant that requires this first mission be televised by an Eoxian reality show. What is already be a momentous mission for the Society is only exacerbated by the mandatory presence of an unliving camera crew—not to mention the interference of the live studio audience in orbit! Can the PCs uncover the secrets of Salvation's End while upholding the Society's publicity deal (perhaps becoming celebrities in the process)?
Very well done and a lot of fun to GM. One of the signs of a great scenario is when the party still really enjoys an adventure despite not being optimized for it. I found this story to have a great energy to it plus having a legitimately intriguing turn in the middle that kept the players hooked. One of the players seriously asked when there was going to be a 'Extreme part two' as soon as the sheets were handed out for experience.
Based on my thoughts as a GM in my local gaming store…
Simply a great scenario. The nowhere-else-like-it Salvation’s End setting (which gets very interesting as the scenario unfolds), Zo!’s personality, a reality show “tell all” booth, and all in front of a live studio audience on a nearby pleasure yacht? Magnificent! This is one of, if not the, best SFS scenarios released so far. Details below.
In no particular order
The metaplot
Spoiler:
The mystery of Salvation’s End is now competing with the Scoured Stars incident as the #1 question of the campaign. Where did the dwarves come from? Grown? Captured? And why? And as one of apparently thousands more similar simulations, this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.
The camera crew
Spoiler:
The PCs quickly developed a love-hate relationship with the camera crew. I liked the mechanic as a GM – the PCs seemed (good naturedly) aggravated by six zombies/ghouls crowding in wherever the action was, but fortunately the danger level was low enough that there was never a serious question of their interference changing a life-or-death situation. If combats were harder, though, I wonder if the PCs would be as understanding.
The booth
Spoiler:
An amazing idea that gave everybody a chance in the spotlight. The group learned things about characters’ backgrounds that they’d never had an opportunity to share in-character before. We got real time takes as to what the PCs were thinking and where they thought the exploration/scenario was going. Marvelous story-telling device.
The tone of the scenario matched perfectly with the danger/antics involved. If (when?) things become more serious on Salvation’s End, I’m not sure a live camera crew rushing forward to capture the action will fit quite as well. For this one, though, it’s perfect.
5 stars for the scenario, losing 1 for slipshod layout issues
I have played this and run it now.
I absolutely loved it on my playthrough, although some of the "reality show drama" our PCs got up to did distract a little from the details being discovered.
Spoiler:
We had a Dwarf at the table. Other PCs were attempting to negotiate an arrranged marriage for him into the clan. Also, our Skittermander PC was convinced the Ghast producer had the hots for him and kept trying, and failing, to flirt with her.
When I ran this as the GM, my players mostly seemed to enjoy the extra RP elements of the scenario. That being said, this scenario could be a good learning experience on how to improve layout for maps, npc stats, and adventure details.
Spoiler:
Why is that map for the final goblin encounter between the flooded temple map and the stats for the monsters in the flooded temple? That is the most egregious example, but I found myself having to flip back and forth in the pages during several encounters. Additionally, it would have been nice to have been given info on where the camera crew would be in the encounters beyond the first one.
By the Gods, they really nailed this one. They hit it out of the park. The perfect blend of zany RP, interesting combats, and a genuinely interesting story. This is the kind of scenario that everyone can get engaged in and really shine. It's worth the effort to prepare a little bit before hand, and a GM with some good acting chops will definitely help make the scenario shine. Absolutely great scenario.
What's crazier than the adventures starfinders get up to? Doing it for a live studio audience and increasing the production value and character drama. Watch our intrepid explorers contend with monsters, mystery, and... make up? Be sure to put on a show, because you don't want to get voted off the asteroid...
John and Thursty, you know you guys are distracting me in my march to 5 star? I’ll never get there by Paizo Con, if you keep tempting me with such delicious SFS scenarios. Aaaaarrgh!

I am so looking forward to this scenario! But first a word from our sponsors.
Are you tired of your enemies getting the drop on you? DrowTek has you covered with the latest in advanced cloaking technology that will give you the edge against friend and foes alike.
Starfinder was filmed in front of a living-impaired studio audience in orbit.
I just hope I get to ask them pesky questions in between fights.

I really want to see this played live over twitch, with John as GM and (ideally) Thursty as a player. And I want actual people watching the livestream to be able to act as the reality TV orbiting audience in some way.
So since it has been pushed back a month, any chance we can get it to be 3-6 instead of 1-4? Those that played the First Mandate would really like a chance to play it. With 10 modules and two story arcs avialable, many people will have leveled out of range.

Even with the delay, the ability to change this scenario's Tier is entirely improbable with the time left. Also, as we've learned with Pathfinder Society, we want to keep a strong number of Tier 1-4 scenarios available at launch, to ensure that new players always have a chance to get a game in.
#1-05 Minor Bit:
If your concern is with regards to the Chronicle sheet bonus provided from this scenario, no worries. We'll be using that specific boon (and this specific NPC) in various different situations. So this won't be a "one and done" use of the influence boons.

Thanks for the response. REALLY looking forward to the module.
No scenario tags on this one, though it's suggested the PCs have played Starfinder Society #1–00: Claim to Salvation, first!
As for Con of the North, I believe this scenario is scheduled to be released shortly after that event, due to our reshuffling of this and Sanctuary of Drowned Delight. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Just so everyone's aware, here's a list of the maps you'll need for this scenario:

Map query:
Hello Thurston--Is the "Elemental Dungeon Multi-Pack" you listed the "Elemental Planes Multi-Pack"? Yes, apparently I am now one of those people who buys flip-mats just because they're coming up in an upcoming SFS scenario . . .
OMG!
Just downloaded this.
So amazing!
Can't wait to GM it!
Seriously, this takes everything I loved about X-Crawl, got rid of the 'meh' bits, then made it all 110% cooler.
OMGWTFBBQ!
Darn. My PC with Salvation's End credit will be *6th* level after this next weekend =(
Luckily my Icon Cosplayer is still 1st level ^_^
You realize that you can bring the Salvation's End chronicle sheet even if it's not assigned to that Icon and garner the benefit from it, right? Says so right on the Chronicle sheet.
I'm totally new to Pathfinder/Starfinder, and to organized play in general, and I'm interested in trying Starfinder in particular because it's still in its first season and I'm kind of a completionist, but with this specific scenario being a sequel it doesn't really seem like an ideal jumping on point. If I skip it for now, am I likely to find opportunities to play 1-00 to catch up and then play this one in the future, or should I just look for standalones to play and new plots to begin and not worry about this one?

Star finder in particular, thus far, has been phenomenal at alluding to future scenarios with past ones. I would not suggest starting with this one. Opportunities for play depend heavily one where and with whom you play so, can't give advice there.
I'd check out your local Society branch for play opportunities and activity. Usually the Venture Captains are running a facebook group where they announce all the public scenarios.
I'll probably play this without having played 1-00 but my character knows Zo! from First Mandate as well.
