Well, that is just terrible. I know it wasn't realistic, but it was kinda iconic to her perky self. Yeah, yeah, some people didn't like the anime look, but I thought it fit perfectly.

It had more to do with the paint-on chainmail than her personality.

According to James Jacobs, the original illustration was not at all what they wanted, but they didn't have the time/money to replace it.

Something I hope gets tweaked is that when(as I remember) the PCs are waiting for the Shoanti to decide to help them, the NPC guide with them chooses at that time to lean over and say, 'Oh btw, if we fail they'll kill every single one of us.' Certainly a 'Well I would have liked to known that before hand.' situation.

No. Laori's "swimsuit" is the piece of art I'm most eager to change/fix.

OMG, YES! Basically I'm like this at the moment about this. Not so much about the Fencing Grace stuff in Ultimate Intrigue, but hey, mixed blessings.
Say, it's probably too late to suggest that you replace Scarwall with Citadel Vraid? That's what I did in my first run-though of CotCT, with Scarwall basically warping in due to activation of Kazavon's artifacts and replacing Citadel Vraid, because I thought moving the campaign too far from Korvosa was a mistake. It's not as if the Hell Knights are still a factor in the campaign at this point.
Ah, it's probably a bad idea, because it would allow the PC's to return to Korvosa when there should be a time-skip until their return.
A second suggestion: The last adventure should have a more active rebellion plot before it's off to storm the castle.
Nope; Hell's Rebels is the AP for a full on "PCs are rebels" itch. Adding too much rebellion stuff to Crimson Throne is too much change and addition and thus beyond the scope of the project.

WIth regard to the Guide to Korvosa, there's little reason to revise or reprint that one since it was largely a system-neutral document to begin with--which I quite like, since I've been planning to run CotCT in D&D 5E for a few months now and am just waiting to finish some other games before I undertake another AP run.
I have the exact same plan. Will wait to run 5h Ed CotCT until the hardback comes out.

I just flipped to page 19 of Escape from old Korvosa and can see why. Wow, I'm so glad you are changing this.

Well, dammit. :) I know it isn't physically realistic, but then again so aren't fireball spells. I hope the new illustration can at least keep the feeling of perkyness which informed a lot how I presented Laori during the campaign (that and of course Mikaze's excellent write-ups of Laori's interactions with his group of player characters).

Oh, I get that. But I still think that the time before the PC's are supposed to hit the next dungeons (i.e. Castle Korvosa and then the Sunken Queen) is a bit short after the very long crawl of Scarwall. Adding some more things to do in Korvosa would bring the urban campaign feel back, before it's off to storm two dungeons in a row.

It has nothing to do with "realistic' and everything to do with being out of character and ridiculous for her to wear. She's still perky and all that but that has nothing to do with inappropriate armor.

Seems like a simple quality issue. Compare it to her on page 13 of Skeletons of Scarwall, while not full body, it is a much nicer drawing.

Well, differing opinions and all that. For me personally her look helped me define how I presented her to the players. Although, looking back at it, I think the facial expression on that drawing had more to do with that than the armor. Oh, well, nostalgia and all that. CotCT is, after all, still my favorite AP.

Does that include the more recent art from Faiths of Corruption? Its less 'cartoony' artwork, but the skin-tight chain-suit is still in effect.

Yeah, the opening illustration on page 2 is just a Xerox of Laori Vaus, which is unfortunate. My guess is they were going for "reillustration of beloved NPC," like they did with Nualia on the cover, but Nualia at least got new art.

magnuskn |

Well, I don't have that book, because I don't want to economically encourage books which promote evil alignment PC's, but too bad, then. I really miss the nice elf girl. Also Jolistina Susperio, because that illustration also was awesome.

Will Kazavon finally get stats and if he does will he be a unique Dragon herald of Zon-Kuthon with some unique abilities or will he be just a plain great wyrm blue dragon?
Will the Judgement Devil (Ashmede) get an updated stat block?
Will this adventure be compatible with 6 PC's playing heroes or will it only work with just 4 PC's?
Will there be any additional allies for the PC's?

Yes.
It's designed for 4 PCs, just like all of our APs, and thus works as well for 6 as any of our APs.
Nothing significantly more than was in the first go-around.

Just kinda realized that besides that I'd like a player's guide for handout purposes, it would really be nice to have new campaign traits because old campaign traits are essentially five different possible backgrounds .-. I know APs are designed for 4, but I prefer to have 6 players in case one or two player can't make it to session, so would be nice to have 6 different possible backgrounds from traits.

Just wondering where the Grey Maidens dungeon will fit into the timeline of the campaign? I'm currently running CotCT (starting book 2)and want the hardcover and am willing to pause at a certain point to await the arrival of the hardcover and the new adventure...I just need to know when that point might be

Hayato Ken |

This might seem like an off call, but due to recent experiences i would prefer Paizo switch the AP design to 6 PCs instead of 4 or at least include some serious recommendations on how to "upgrade".
Most AP´s i see played have 6-7 PCs.
Added on top of that come the ACG and OA, both books which serve for very different dynamics and now UI.
When CotCT came out first, it was under completely different rules. How will the rules change and especially the plethora of new classes and options be served as to at least try to maintain some sort of balance?
Is there a place now for a batman at night, Bruce at day along with his buddy Sherlock and their earthbending friend?

This has always been, and will most likely be for the future, the job of the GM.
Paizo can't spell out any possible interactions with all options (What if the group uses Wound&Vigor, armor as DR, revised action economy?).
What if the GM is allowing the use of Ultimate Psionics?

That´s the most easy answer on what i asked and kind of missing the point. Paizo has been producing a lot of new stuff which in parts changes the game to different degrees. From powerlevels over action economy to now different interaction forms (aka vigilante personalities). That´s a lot different from the more obscure side systems you name there and neither a 3PP option.
As a GM you can either ban all that stuff or spend tons of time reworking and rewriting the AP. Only i figure most people who buy an AP do that because they don´t have or want to spend that time in the first place.Ergo it is a very viable question to ask wether Paizo pays some tribute to their own developments and stuff, especially since this is a very old AP.

At the same time, it's not really feasible for them to address every possible group makeup or character option. Unfortunately, the GM may have to address that.
On the plus side, there's a whole forum of people here who are willing to help. Even the writers and developers chime in. They'll hardly have to do it all themselves, if they don't want to. ^_^

Hayato Ken |

Can we please skip the "need to defend Paizo" and "everything in GM hands" options as well as the "this is not feasible" choir?
It´s an all too common trend to answer questions which err on a bit more critical side.
Also, i don´t see how giving some newer books some thought comes anywhere close to adressing every possible group makeup.
There´s a ton of new stuff and books, ignoring that they were produced in the meantime won´t do this AP any good.
On the upside, i especially mentioned the vigilante and the investigator because i think they might actually fit in here and by dropping some lines on that, a lot could be won.

I can understand that blind defense of Paizo (or any other publisher, for that matter) can be annoying, but I don't see how "this is not feasible" or "everything is in GM hands" are necessarily bad statements or joining any choir. They're valid statements. Of course, the trick is to present them in a context (such as arguments with which to back them up) and not in a vacuum. :)

No one is asking for that. What is being asked is 'can we have some adjustment of the baseline expectations of the AP to account for the much more open field that has developed since the original release?'
Community content is great but why not have at least some of that baked in ahead of time?

Do you feel that an adventure written for 4 PCs is easily adjusted for 6-7? Do you object to the adventure being adjusted to be written for 6? Or to having sidebars with recommendations for adjustments up or down?

I find the accusation of blind defense of Paizo a bit insulting, to be honest. Disagreement and blind defense are very different things.
As for "everything in GM hands", there has to be a balance there. A pregenerated adventure will never be perfect for your group. At the same time, I agree that there is room to include more of the recent content in the revised AP - the shaman class is another with obvious opportunities for inclusion.
Finally, there is a vigilante in the book, using the newly released class and everything. ^_^
