When it says....
"All six chapters of the original Adventure Path, expanded and updated for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game"
Does that mean it is no longer using the DnD Monster Manual and is actually using the Pathfinder Bestiaries? I am a third of the way through running this and if it updates. I will be getting it for sure.

I'm pretty much sure that everything here will use 100% Pathfinder material, updating stuff exclusive to the original AP if necessary. ^_^

Indeed, the primary purpose of this updated version is to update it to use the Pathfinder Rules. That includes the Pathfinder Bestiaries.

On one hand, I would love a Limited Edition copy on my shelf, as it looks amazing.
On the other hand, Paizo uses USPS, and their prices are insane and almost double the total price tag, which makes it harder to justify.
General advice for those outside of the US: Amazon all the way.
Luckily, AP subscribers can factor in the free PDFs and a general discount.
Ruyan.

            Hi Everyone,
I don't have the time to sift through 15 pages of this so...
Since I am introducing my son, daughter and several of their better friends to all of this, my question is:
What level of characters should they have to start this adventure path?
I had a lot of reading before I learned that is what AP meant. Since no one I know is made of money, and my wife is not deaf dumb or blind, I am trying to make the best purchases I can to make this amazing for them, but also not purchase anything they won't get to for quite a while.
Thanks,
GT

Hey there!
APs are essentially pre-made campaigns that take characters from levels 1-15+. So you'll be able to start your friends and family with level 1 characters that'll eventually get all the way to high levels in this AP.

This starts with brand new 1st level characters.
Edit: (sneaky ninja!)

Note that paladins are unlikely to be either of those groups. The Sable Company tend towards ranger, while the Korvosan Guard are likely fighters or warriors. In addition, both groups tend towards lawful neutrality.
That said, it's not impossible, nor is it impossible for someone to become a paladin after determining that those organizations aren't for them. You're a PC, after all, and that generally means someone special.
For an ex-Guard, I'd give the constable archetype for cavaliers (from Heroes of the Streets) a look. ^_^

Well, the head of the Sable Guard is LG, so it can't be too hard to be Good there.

Of course - both groups doubtless have a decent share of good people. Being good-aligned and maintaining paladinhood are two different things, though. ^_^
