Shadowborn AND Feyborn would be really cool, though perhaps overkill. I just love the fact they are creating such things to jazz up the Core races. Perhaps people will not clamor so much for new races...aw, who am I kidding? That will never stop.
Yeah though to be fair none of these are core races in any respect save maybe the drow if you count them but their history in the medium. I would much rather Paizo focus on their new or little explained races and go to town there and really make them their own like the Goblins. Like I'm actually a little sad we don't get anything on kyton spawned tieflings in this since they are really tied to the shadow plane as well.

I was referring to Shadowborn traits being available for the core races:Human, Half-Elf, Elf, Dwarf, Halfling, et al. Those are the core races. Drow? Eh, not so much.

Oh I agree, I'm mostly just curious if there is anything preventing you from taking traits from both. I also find it interesting that, judging by the archetype names, we may be getting options that include darkness but are not necessarily stealthy.

Wayangs have suddenly become quite popular in my area and there are a bunch of us really looking forward to this book. I'm definitely surprised to see the addition of drow relative to the previous description and hope they don't steal too much room from the PFS legal race. I really hope the worshippers of the Old Rat Woman get some neat religion related feats or traits.

Is that a purple wurm-esque beast using a staff and a sword fighting drow.
The worm is a Seugathi. Wand and short-sword use is standard for them.

The gloomchymist and dusk knight have interesting names. I am looking forward to finding out what class the dusk knight is. I am hoping it is a shadow/dark themed paladin character.
Pretty certain the gloom chymist will be an Alchemist archetype. I would guess the dusk knight to be a cavalier, myself.

Mine was doing that earlier. Try clearing cache, log out of your Paizo account, and close your browser, then reload the page and log back in.

Or try changing page in the thread.

While I do hope I am right and it is a paladin, I would be happy with either. I'm sure you and everybody else at Paizo will continue to do great work.

I don't think they will toy with the Paladin and shadows much at all. Paladin is supposed to be a beacon in the dark, not blending in--that could lead to a 'fall'.
However, the Cavalier already has a spirit/ectoplasmic/phantom mount in the Ghost Rider archetype. It is rather cool, though I have yet to see anyone stat one up here...

It would certainly be interesting if it were a paladin archetype, though I'm not expecting it...but it would be appropriate for a paladin of Kelinahat, perhaps, since she's the lawful good empyreal lord of intelligence, spies, and stealth.
Ooh, a stealthy spec ops Paladin would be really cool actually. Even if it's not in this book I'd love to see a more skill monkey Paladin designed for a subterfuge-style campaign.

Yeah, I definitely think it would be interesting...if not here, maybe Ultimate Intrigue or one of its spin-offs? I've certainly pondered the notion of a paladin/shadowdancer who worships Kelinahat, but an archetype that works better for such a concept would be nice...

Hmm true, but a retelling of the narrative so that dark doesn't equal evil would be great. And culturally speaking surely their good aligned, even lawfully good aligned individuals in the dark-worlds, and theoretically speaking a light based knight of justice wouldn't fit, because culturally it wouldn't carry over the same kind of connotations. Biologically wouldn't make sense either if these creatures have dark vision and are sensitive to light. Our connection of darkness=evil is because we fear the unknown and are in ability to see in the dark means we lose something in it. A Fletchling or a Caligini most likely won't have that binary way of thinking of light and darkness, a Caligni especially. So in that case a hero of justice of righteousness in a world filled with literal darkness, might find it comforting and good to channel the power of the shadows of their home in order to defend themselves an dothers against evil.

It's a bit late to say this (seeing as the product is already far along the production pipe-line), but I really hope that the darkness mystery for Oracles is not "evil-only", but can also be used by good characters.
It shouldn't be much of an issue; the Apocalypse mystery came out in the Monster Codex (and was designed with ogres in mind IIRC) and still didn't have any language that locked non-evil PC's from using it. There might be some revelations that lean towards evil acts but it should work just fine otherwise.

I don't see why Darkness should be evil. After all, Tsukiyo is all about the moon and the unhinging stillness of the night, and she's a cool girl/omnipotent being.
I could see the Dusk Knight being:
a) a very lame pun;
b) a night-based paladin with the intent of killing vampires, ghouls and all those things that creep through the night;
c) a cavalier based on skirmishing tactics that moves towards and out of cover with perhaps a supernatural mount because a regular mount would suck at that kind of thing.
That being said, I'm leaning towards A.

Tsukiyo is male; you may be confusing him with Shizuru, gender-wise.
Otherwise, basically correct. I really want to play a paladin of Tsukiyo. ^_^

Yeah, that could totally be content of a new TianXia book and AP!
Perhaps we should make a thread for that, gathering the many voices of people who actually dig that and want more of it.

I stand corrected! I speak a romance language natively, so the moon for me is always female.
I am curious as to why you haven't played a Chosen One Paladin of Tsukiyo with a cat familiar and stand for love, justice and punish people in the name of the moon.

Human Fighter wrote:What classes will be given archetypes in this book?Not fighters this time. Sorry. :)
That said, many of the fighting style feats and shadow craft weapons may be of interest to a shadow-themed fighter.
More fighting style feats? Yessssss. Looking forward to this shipping.

PDFs are starting to make their way out. As for the Dusk Knight...
Yup, Paladin. Not too sure about its abilities, in particular what it gives up Channel Energy for, but eventually getting See in Darkness is pretty cool. Too bad it doesn't hit until 15th level.
