Into the Mind of a God

Silver Mount has long beckoned explorers and adventurers from across the Inner Sea with its promise of otherworldly treasures, but more than riches waits within this towering ruin's alien chambers. Here, the greatest of the Iron Gods dwells, inexorably drawing its plans against the world of flesh and preparing for its final triumphant emergence. With the brutish rulership of Starfall cowed, the time is right for the PCs to mount the most extensive and dangerous expedition ever made into Silver Mount's mysterious interior. What strange perils from beyond the stars await the heroes in one of Golarion's most legendary dungeons, and what insidious traps has the Iron God set for them within those metal walls?

This volume of Pathfinder Adventure Path concludes the Iron Gods Adventure Path and includes:

  • "The Divinity Drive," a Pathfinder adventure for 15th-level characters, by Crystal Frasier.
  • Dangerous plots to expand your Iron Gods campaign, by Adam Daigle and James Jacobs.
  • A look into the inner workings of robots, by Greg A. Vaughan.
  • The gripping conclusion of the Pathfinder's Journal, by Amber E. Scott.
  • Five dangerous new monsters, by Adam Daigle, Crystal Frasier, Thurston Hillman, and Will McCardell.

Each monthly full-color softcover Pathfinder Adventure Path volume contains an in-depth adventure scenario, stats for several new monsters, and support articles meant to give Game Masters additional material to expand their campaign. Pathfinder Adventure Path volumes use the Open Game License and work with both the Pathfinder RPG and the world's oldest fantasy RPG.

A strong end to the AP

4/5

Read my full review on Of Dice and Pen.

The Divinity Drive makes a fitting end to the adventure path. High-level dungeon crawls are not easy to do, but this adventure pulls it off pretty well. There are some flaws, but I do really like that there is an active ecosystem in this “dungeon”. It's more than just a succession of rooms with monsters or robots to fight. That said, there is a lot of combat in this adventure and I wish there were a bit more opportunity for non-combat interactions with the inhabitants of the ship. But a good GM can easily add that in. By the time the adventure (and the adventure path along with it) is complete, I think the players will have many great memories of a great campaign.

To Scale the Silver Mount

5/5

The greatest mystery of Numeria, and one of Golarion's greatest puzzles, is now laid bare. An adventure of alien societies, killer robots, and divine mysteries, the Silver Mount becomes a grand adventure for the incredible climax of the Iron Gods Adventure Path!

Excellent flavor, challenging fights, and one of the best rewards I've ever seen at the end of a campaign make this a grand ending of the Adventure Path.

Great Final Installment

5/5

Short Version: The payoff for Iron Gods.

There's a lot of stuff to like about this adventure. You get the appropriately epic final showdown, enemies that know at least a little of what they're doing, some interesting non-combat encounters, and a chance meddle with the power of the gods themselves.

But it really gives you the payoff of the ideas in its AP more than most final installments. You get to stop the bad guy and save the world from a fate worse than death, but you also get to tackle some of the themes in the AP directly and make some really cool choices that can have a positive impact... or a negative one.

Easy five stars, moves the AP from "undecided" to "should run" for me.

Ugh, I can't wait for this one to come out.

Edit: Also, I wonder what mythic tier the iron god itself will be.

I wouldn't be surprised if Unity were 8th or 9th Tier. Seems appropriate for it, tbh, given what we know.

Does anyone know when this will be unleashed? Can't wait to read it!

The retail release date is 1/28, though we hope to begin shipping to subscribers next week.

Thanks!

That's too long of a wait.

Only nineteen point two five days, approximately, until street release. Of course, hopefully those who've received the adventure will be willing to share tidbits of information... Which, given the events of past AP entries, they seem all-too willing to do. For which those of us who plan on purchasing the adventure but would explode if we had to wait the full period of time between now and the street drop date thank you.

Seriously, the 28th cannot come soon enough... but the tide of friendly subscribers willing to give us our info fix are a godsend.

Hey all!
When will the pdf be available for subscribers??

When the book is paid for (by subscribers) next week; the hard copy will be posted then at the same time.

I can't wait to read that PDF.

Really hoping this has a bit more Dominion of the Black stuff. Perhaps a high-CR alien lord in the Continuing the Campaign section?

Dark Archive

1 day and the Iron Gods Adventure Path is history...

The map folio is released tomorrow too - then only the pawn collection is missing till march 10.

now i only wish paizo would use their module format for an "continuing the campaign" adventure for every campaign ;-)

Dark Archive

If Skulls & Shackles can get extra content, so can Iron Gods.

Legendary Games has already said that they will soon be releasing AP Plug-Ins for Iron Gods.

If you have not tried their AP Plug-Ins then I would definitely give them a shot. I have run or played nearly all of them and not only do I enjoy them but my players absolutely love them as well.

Items from the appendix:

Spoiler:

Arms of the Iron God - Tech artifact that replaces users arms and spine to give some bonuses (+4 Strength) and claw attacks (each hand is a +3 shocking burst battleaxe, plus a couple other bits.

Divinity Drive - Tech artifact that has a long write-up and does several different things. What's important is that it is Divnity's power source and creates wormholes (as gate), more or less.

Enhanced Fengar - Food source that removes fatigue/exhaustion, grants bonus to saves for 24 hours.

Memory Facet - Like other facets described in previous chapters. Creativity (+6 to AI Cha and more!), Cruelty (+4 damage and more!), Instinct (+6 AI Wis and more!), Intuition (+2 ref/Init and more!), Logic (+6 AI Int and more!), Psyche (+3 to saves and more!)

Mindmelder - Helmet that connect you to VR.

Spoiler:

Monsters - Feranth (CR14, huge magical beast, like a big alien bull), Yarahkut Inevitable (CR14, inevitables tasked with making sure tech doesn't fall into the wrong hands), Marax (CR11, huge, boney, poisonous, T-rex without arms), Director Robot (CR10, large robots that enforce order/efficiency/productivity), Evaluator Robot (CR12, robots sent on scouting missions to potentially hostile planets).

There are some Lashunta. The art depicts a male mounted on a triceratops (?) and a female looking wizardy. There is a habitat that includes an entire Lashunta village.

I won't jinx myself by addressing this comment, other than to say that, as long as I have them, I'll use my superpowers for good (and hopefully not giving anything that spoils all the fun of reading it yourself). ;)

Yes. There is some cool iconic art (Amiri fighting a pair of froghemoths with a chainsaw-sword, for example).

Spoiler:

There are some planatars and there's the Yarahkut Inevitable and Evaluator Robot that look angelic (wings and such).

Spoiler:

There is a habitat pod full of stuff from Castrovel and some discussion about the encounters there, but not info about Coastrovel, per se. There are also some creatures from Castrovel that the PCs can/will encounter.

Continuing the campaign is fairly extensive. It has discussion on what changes if the PCs win, what happens if they lose, the possible emergence of another Iron God(dess), some details on other decks of Divinity that the PCs may explore, and lair of a human-cyborg lich Wizard that inhabits the Numeria and his ties to Divinity. All told, it's 5 pages.

-Skeld

So did they make a list of the creature encounters for that Castrovel based habitat pod and if so what are they?

So did any of the Lashunta art have them with non-human standard hair colors like blue, green , pink, silver, etc.?

Spoiler:
Do you mean a random encounter table? If so, there isn't one that I see. The Castrovel area is mapped out with encounter areas just like any other area would be.

The male has brown hair/beard and the female has red/orange hair.

Dragon78 wrote:

Due to that last question, I'm now thinking of the Lashunta as the Pathfinder version of Zeltrons ...

(Zeltrons are a mostly-human race in the Star Wars universe. They tend to be very sensual, and have some low-grade psychic abilities. And varied appearances such as red-pink skin and pink hair.)

So what are the monsters/classes encountered in the castrovel habitat area?

Are there any other habitat areas based on other planets in this AP?

Mwahahaha! Got it! :)

Can you envision any possible world in which I'm the one developing and outlining an Adventure Path where this happens and I DON'T arrange an illustration of said wonder?

Good god it is physical torture waiting for this to appear in my downloads.

Hang on. Unity is MR 8, but his high priestess can cast level 9 spells. Isn't the spellcasting of your followers limited to a level equal to your mythic tier under the mythic ruleset? Shouldn't Ophelia be limited to 8th level?

If Unity were a PC who achieved the ability to cast spells by gaining the Divine Source mythic ability, then yes.

But that's not the case.

Unity is a unique NPC/monster whose abilities are custom created for it. It gains the ability to grant spells to its clerics by its Divinity special ability; it does not have Divine Source. It basically grants spells to its clerics in exactly the same way as does any demigod.
