Every city needs a seedy, dingy waterfront tavern, and the latest Flip-Mat release delivers, with a new two-sided full-color durable laminated map depicting a dockside dive your players won’t soon forget! Consort with unsavory characters in a darkened, curtained booth. Sidle up to the criminal element at the well-soaked, crooked bar, and try not to smash the cheap furniture or fall from the balcony when the inevitable fight breaks out.

This portable, affordable map measures 24" x 30" unfolded, and 8" x 10" folded. Its coated surface can handle any dry erase, wet erase, or even permanent marker. Usable by experienced GMs and novices alike, GameMastery Flip-Mats fit perfectly into any Game Master’s arsenal!

Additionally, Flip-Mat: Waterfront Tavern can be combined with Map Pack: Waterfront in a number of different ways to create an even larger waterfront scene!

Solid building map, if only . . .

4/5

. . . it had another cool waterfront tavern on the other side.
Interesting layout with lots of cool details a clever (or mean) DM could exploit for his own purposes.
The opening to the water in the middle was a particularly nice touch. My players used it to great effect to inflitrate the structure with some levitation spells. They had a great time throwing various patrons and enemies into the drink.
More like this, Paizo.
Just make sure they're two-sided.

Front side ok

2/5

This will be a mantra for me. Why the blank side?
Why bother.
Sooooo many blank maps.

PFS intro III must have!

5/5

I run the PFS Intro series all the time and when I come to number three and can just whip out this map, a complicated map to draw is taken care of. Such a time saver and my players love it.

Great!

5/5

This is one of my go to maps for waterfront taverns or an inn in the poor district of any town or city. My players don't mind that I reuse it again since I have a couple inn maps that I frequently use. The cartography and illustration is high quality and the blank flip side is perfect for the open sea. Couple that side with the ship map pack and you'll be set for high seas adventure!

This looks like it will compatible with the Waterfront Map Pack. What's going to be on the flip side? Is there any chance to get the Map packs to have there own flipsides? Having just a white side seems to be a waste of a side.

It looks like it's blue on the other side. If it matches color with the flip side of the ship flip-mat this'll be a real win. Either way that tavern's goign to see a lot of brawls at my table!

The Exchange

Not to say that the blue is anything we can predict, but it appears different than the ship flip-mat. As usual, I will buy it no matter what.

It doesn't match Flip-Mat: Ship, but it does match Map Pack: Waterfront—and there are multiple ways to put them together, so a wide variety of waterfront locations can be created.

The backside of Flip-Mat: Waterfront Tavern is more blank cobblestone that matches the texture of the ground as you approach both the FM: Waterfront Tavern and MP: Waterfront.

All of the GameMastery mini-adventures have double-sided cards. Most show the same location pre- and post-bloodbath or something, but the Mad Druids Grove is really cool because it shows trap un-sprung and sprung. I'm sure it would up the cost but I like double sided cards. Maybe a special double-sided Map Pack - showing blank wall vs. secret door, or traps sprung and unsprung, or roads with and without road blocks, boats whole and sunk, etc.

I’m planning to use this Flip-Mat for Red Foam Whaling (with some modifications, of course) in Serpents of Scuttlecove in my Savage Tide Campaign. This is a great map which charms GMs to use it. Good work, Mr. Macourek!

I have the Flip-Mat tavern and I'll get this too, but this isn't an alternative to the now-unavailable tavern because of the water.

So, make another tavern set. I'll buy that, too.

An open street is good for a nice scrap that spills out of the bar's front door. Any chance we may see a small ship/large boat in this series?

Yes, Waterfront Map Pack got a great review from me for its interchangeability. With a flipmat version to add to it, you have complimented an already great product. Was this intentional?

If so, excellent marketing.

It was intentional. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy more such useful interactions in the future.

Now that is the secret to your success.

Actually, that comes from coating all of their products with an addictive pleasure chemical that can be absorbed through the skin.

They have to go out to the warehouse every hour and hose the warehouse staff down or else nothing gets done.

This was another fun one to make. There are lots of little details in EVERY table, fish in the water...good stuff. Thanks for all of the good feedback!

The Exchange

I am a big fan of tournament too. That was a great map pack.

And MP: Waterfront also has both a small and large boat that uses the same water background as FM: Waterfront Tavern.

Nice!

A *great* matt, especially with the flipside. It's my first matt purchase, and I was well impressed with the size of it!

Does anyone know a good method to 'get the folds out'? It's quite a good / stiff stock, and the creases seem quite permanent.

This won't get the seams out, but it does flatten it out so it sits flat.

I just piled a bunch of heavy books on it and let it sit a few days.

Is there any chance that this will be reprinted as it appeared in Adventure Path 59: Skulls and Shackles, The Price of Infamy as the Theater of Corruption?

Webstore Gninja Minion

We do not typically reprint our Flip-Mats, unfortunately.

As this map is in the First Steps Pt III A Vision of Betrayel, I would hope a reprint is in this map's future. It is featured in many other Scenarios and in Skulls and Shackles (as mentioned above.)

Please put a reprint in the new Pathfinder name into consideration for this flipmat!!!

Sczarni RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

Yeah, this flip-mat is hard to find and impossible at a reasonable price. Maybe market a new flip-mat pack for the First Steps?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Another vote for a First Steps Map Pack. I never burn Scenarios on 1st Level Characters, so I'd get a lot of mileage of a set like that.

There is a Waterfront Tavern contained in Flip-Mat: Pub Crawl that serves as a suitable replacement for this one.

Actually the replacement is in Flip-Mat: Seedy Tavern. Not Flip-Mat: Pub Crawl.

Taverns, pubs, I get them confused. :P
