Colthan checking in. Will have to update my info to level 7.
Colthan is a hacker operative. On a ship he can do any engineering checks or computers checks without needing to roll. He is a good pilot +19 and can be a good gunner if those other roles are covered.
He is an android and a chemist who does R&D for Abadarcorp when not participating in epic adventures.

It looks like you have 2 engineers and another operative so Colthan's skills are covered. On the other hand the 9 - 10 table doesn't have a Solarian or a Soldier so I'm going to play my soldier 10 there to balance things out. Good luck here.

It's been awhile since I did PbP in a Paizo forum (I've been using Discord lately). I'll try to update my information on my tagline shortly.
| GM Numbat |
Looks like yesterday's post did not take.
Please introduce yourselves and your characters here. I will post a survey later today to collect your information for chronicles and reporting.
I apologise to all that I have been slow to start the table, it has been very hectic during the last few weeks.
Bakoyo "Flameclaw"

No problem. I think we all understand "hectic" these days.
I've updated my profile and stat line with my level 7 info. I have played this before, at Origins last year, and am replaying with my Tier 1 Seeker of Knowledge boon. Quick question: Do I have to slot a Jadnura Faction boon to use Seeker of Knowledge?
Quirk, private eye for hire
|
Quirk has been built to be a character that can cover a lot of bases. He can deal some damage with trick attacks and pitch in on pretty much any skill check (even mysticism).
By the same token, he can do any starship role, though he is best as a science officer or gunner.
Skeeter Lo
|
Skeeter is at heart a pure mercenary. Formerly an Akitonian seperatist, after spending time on Absalom station for a while, he figured out that the Starfinder Society a) keeps him out of jail, and b) pays on time. He ended up being a whole hearted supporter of Luwazi due to her charismatic nature.
He has had a couple dealings with the Jinsuls and does not like them *at all*. He is looking forward to any upcoming mission to repay them for their damage to the Society.
Skeeter is a white haired Ysoki operative. He has custom-made Leshunta tempweave with an installed jetpack. He is subtly augmented, with his skin appearing a bit hardy to him built-in dermal plating. He carries two pistols, a corona pistol on one hip, and a standard tactical pistol on the other.
Valikar "Hardcover" Drazen
|
Valikar is a frontliner meant to take hits and generally get in the way of anyone else trying to get to the parts of the party that don't like to be up-close and personal. He's reasonably fast and can run down anything trying to escape as well.
He's a bit of a buffer with coordinated shot, close combat, and the interposing fusion. So if he's in melee with something he gives everyone +1 to their ranged attacks to hit it and +1 AC from its melee attacks if I've managed to hit it in the last round.
Out of combat he's mostly an athletic and acrobatics guy. Particularly to climb or jump. Everything else is a bit of a mix of having SOME skill, but not excelling.

Eki Niqim
|
Eki is brown haired ysoki mechanic who usually fulfills engineer role in starship. He is augmented with dermal plating and carries laser rifle and a sonic pistol.
Here is his picture.
I apologize in advance if a low level 1e character appears in characters tab as these times are hectic and for this I decided two games at once is my limit.

GM: Do I have to slot the Jadnura faction Boon to use a Jadnura boon that I own (specifically, Seeker of Knowledge)? Or can I use it even if currently slotting an Exo-Guardians boon?

I'm not at home right now, so I can't check all my boons on this character. I'll post specifics when I get there, but I do know he has Honorbound Allies as well.
GM is it wise for us to stack boons like that, or should I drop a different starship boon if it won't benefit us?
PS: I was going to fill out the link, but don't have all the info you need here, so I'll do it when I get home.
Klysk
|
Hey everyone, finally here. I'll try and catch up as quick as I can and fill in my information in the two things above.
Klysk is made to be a fairly good supporting character, capable at a number of skills, as well as fairly good at ranged combat. He is also a workable face character. He wields a sonic rifle, while his drone has a laser rifle. Also, he is deaf, but his drone can help him with that to a degree.

Hey all, I'm taking over for GM Numbat for a bit. Just computer trouble as far as I hear. Maybe Numbat will have better answers for some of your questions later, but for now:
@Flameclaw: I do not believe you need to slot the Faction Champion boons in order to slot boons related to the faction or that you purchased through that faction's reputation. I don't have the text of Seeker of Knowledge, so I can't speak to its specifics.
@Hardvcover: Many of the boons can be "stacked" at least partially. If you see someone else slotting the boon you probably don't need to avoid it, but you might look if you have other good options. Hope that helps answer your question?
@Skeeter: essentially asked the same question as Hardcover in gameplay.

Hey, should we each be posting what we are doing for all 6 in one big post? Or break them up?
| GM Lupulus |
Hey guys, the stories of your past exploits are great!
Could you post the scenario number and names of what you are describing, or post them here in discussion if you already posted? Some I recognize but others I haven't played yet.
The scenarios you mention in your stories aren't related in any way to the boons you slot, so don't worry about them affecting your boons.

Sure thing, and thanks for helping out Lupulus!

Quick rule question:
I just got a venomous fusion on one of my weapons, because I've gained access to some discounted medicinals and drugs and such. The wording of venomous is:
A weapon with the venomous fusion gains the injection weapon special property (see page 181). Only a single attack each day may benefit from this property, and you must announce before making an attack that it is an injection attack. Regardless of how many targets you can hit with a single attack from your weapon, only a single target of your choice is exposed to the drug, medicinal, or poison when you use the injection property in an attack. Only weapons that deal piercing or slashing damage can benefit from this fusion.
I just want to be clear that when it says "Only a single attack each day may benefit from this property" ... it means that if I declare an injection attack and then miss, I've used up my one shot for the day, right? Has the attempt also consumed the poison, drug, or medicinal? Or can I still extract the medicinal to try another day?

| GM Lupulus |
@Flameclaw, I agree if you miss you use up your Venomous fusion's single use for the day. I also think you end up wasting the poison, but I don't see the rules explicitly about that. It would depend on the argument for whether the ammo can be recovered.
Quirk, private eye for hire

Let me throw this out there for starship roles:
Why don't we put Bakoyo at captain? He has some diplomacy, and intimidate is pretty good.
The two engineers can do engineering and science.
Skeeter can pilot.
Valikar and Quirk on guns.
Valikar "Hardcover" Drazen
|
I'm happy to be a gunner!
As for missions, Valikar doesn't really... do well with the whole stealth thing. But he's willing to run distraction if situations allow for it. We could just go right down the list?
| GM Numbat |
As this is a chase and can quickly depart the map if ship movement is done traditionally, I would suggest that unless the pilots are doing something fancy, after both ship moves have been decided we resolve the difference in the distance between the two rather than move each their full move each turn.
Decide your starship roles for the first round. I see comments for two potential pilots.
Do you need the stats for the Pegasus or do you all have them?
Who will track your damage and conditions?
| GM Numbat |
Yay.
Sorry, it has been such a haphazard start from me. I have missed all the usual discussion and ramp-up.
It is expected everyone will post at least once per day. Multi-table specials need to keep pace and there are hard time limits that are calculated in.
If you, as a group, choose to play a faster game I will endeavour to keep up and keep the game moving. I make no guarantees, given how chaotic my life became after committing to this game, but I will certainly try. I will also not pressure anyone to a faster pace.
Bakoyo "Flameclaw"

Is that ship pointing away from us, then? I can't make out the orientation and features of the token very well.
If this combat is taking place in the Drift, I'd like to use my Drift Maven boon, as Captain, to move us 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 hexes toward the jinsul, facing toward it.
Valikar "Hardcover" Drazen

I should be able to post every evening after work, and will post extra when possible, but that can be difficult as my job doesn't leave me at my desk much.
Bakoyo "Flameclaw"

If anyone needs my support with an Encourage action, just let me know. With my sidereal influence, I have +8+1d6 on that roll, so hitting the DC 15 isn't going to be too hard, even if I don't have the skill itself.
Skeeter Lo

Yes, I’ll pilot.
I tend to post quickly, but if I’m not home I won’t have access to the map, and might need help there.
I referenced a whole bunch of scenarios in the skill check montage, and I’ll post those when I get home.

Remember (because I often forget them) the computer bonuses. The Tier 8 Pegasus has two +3 checks.
As Captain, and with little else to do, I can track damage and conditions.

Yes, the ship is pointing away from you. I realised as I quickly made these tokens that it is the first time I have run starships on PbP!
I normally try to mark the front with a different colour of border but couldn't manage it quickly on Google Slides. As this is predominantly a chase, I wasn't too concerned and hope to do better for later combats.I am not familiar with Drift Maven. How often can this be used and when is it applied?
Klysk
|
At the beginning of combat, Klysk will be in the Science Officer role. He will stay there for at least the second round as well. I'm going to go ahead and post his action, just so I don't hold up the combat.
