Seishin finds the dagger, sling and bullets at Savah's Armory, the best weapons and armor smith in town.

On the way there he meets a fisherman named Ned. He tells him the crazy story of how his buddy Bud met a monster in the swamp.

"Yeah I know what's in the marsh alright. My buddy Bud went out there fishing a couple days ago. He met the Soggy River Monster on the new fish trail! Imagine that, not even the new trail is safe anymore. It stood taller than a man, had white skin, and had a mouth that opened up all the way down its neck. It was eating what looked like a goblin on the far side of the river which is why Bud managed to make it out of there all in one piece."

Scowling and spitting Ned shoulders his fishing rod and moves on, the man is clearly uncomfortable talking about what lives in the swamp.

Rhys is confused by the samsaran stopping and doesn't look where he goes. He bumps into a young lad that wasn't looking where he was going either. After both apologize the lad named Jake tell him a story that his pa told him.

"I'm Jake. My pa's a fine fisherman on the sea, got his own boat and everything. He says there have been some weird kind of unnatural red seagul lately. As if that wasn't bad enough, it always show up before something bad happens, an accident or whatever. The Stoot Bird everyone calls it, it's soaked in blood or something and posessed by the ghost of that maniac Stoot."

The boy hurries on and Rhys barely have time to say good bye before he's out of sight.

Rhys also finds the armor and weapons he's lookign for in Savah's Armory. Savah tries to sell him a fancy second tier enchanted dagger, but she loses interest when she understand that despite his age the elf is nearly broke.

On the way to get the rest of his gear he overhear a trio of elderly ladies talking about the goblins. Stopping by they tell him of what's up.

"The Licktoad Goblins have never been much of a problem before, but now that they’ve found all those fireworks, they seem braver, that’s for sure. Some folks say that they’ve even learned how to make them, and that they’re getting ready set Sandpoint on fire!"

Seishin tries to find information about the old witch and he meets an old hag with a tooth necklace, ear-rings made out of fingernails and several pendants made out of fingers.

"I'm Helga and I know Old Megus well enough. It's a shame she doesn't stop by more often, it's always interesting to talk to her. Unlike most people here. She's always obsessed with transforming something into some other, perhaps she transformed herself into a zombie and is now wandering the swamp looking for people to eat!?"

An rotund halfing woman with graying hair at the temples tells the pair about Walthus Proudstump.

"I used to like Walthus when we were younger. But then he started raising snakes and liking them better than people? No wonder he moved out there. He coddles them like my nice does with her pet rabbit, takes a special kind of weirdo to do that."

Rhys:
Rhys recalls that goblins are erratic and unpredictable creatures. That makes them difficult to prepare for in combat, but it also makes it easier to fight them as they rarely use sound strategy.

They can see in the dark and are very stealthy. They like to sneak up on their targets, but rarely plan well enough to actually go through with them.

Goblins are very superstitious and obsessed with wierd things and can keep the oddest things as treasures. Some of them are pure junk, but sometimes they can get something like a harrow deck and hang all the beautiful cards up as if they were religious ornaments. You know Koya would be unhappy if she saw a deck used like that as she very much likes props like that

Unfortunately you fail to find a map anywhere, but you do find everything else on the list.

Sigrun is guard in chainmail carrying a longspear on the way into the garrison.

"Hold there for a moment miss..." Though it seems like the guard is more interested in eying her up and down rather than actually asking her questions. The guard trails off as his gaze travels downwards towards her chest.

Without raising his gaze he continues. "If you're going in here I need to know what for..."

"Tsurai sakana udon soup for both of you. Got it." Ameiko smiles and nods slightly. She moves her hand up to put her hair behind her ear.

"I do hope Sandru, Koya, his caravan and all the other travelers are alright too." She shudders and gets a troubled as a memory resurfaces. The tien grabs her bare left elbow with her right hand as if to comfort herself. She's only wearing a embroidered sleeveless red top and black leather pants, but she shouldn't be cold in the intense heat of he summer.

"I'll be back with the food shortly." Ameiko says and turns to move back towards the kitchen. Her hips sway slightly as she walks, accentuating her assets in her tight leather pants.

Thanks for the submissions everyone. It was really though narrowing down who to choose. My self-imposed restrictions made this extra difficult. I wish I had the capacity to run more tables, but I don't want to bite over too much. I hope someone else makes a similar recruitment so you get to use the characters who didn't get in here. The party is quite untraditional, but I think it can work out quite well. With that said I want to announce my selections.

Descendent of the vile Oni from the east, we have a guy who has already seen plenty of battle. But cursed and disllusioned by the demons he fought he returns to Sandpoints once more where he might yet again meet the crush from his childhood, Ameiko. Yako Sutorenjā - Male Tiefling (Onispawn) Paladin (Tortured Crusader) is my first selection.

Hailing from the frozen north, we have a girl who escaped her wicked witch of a mother after her father was disposed off in most brustal fashion. Can she find love from a fellow carvaner in Sandru? Sigrún the Magpie - Female Half-Elf Bloodrager (Urban/Arcane Bloodline) is the second martial character to join the group.

Koya's family is long lived by human standards, but that pales in compansion to the longlivety of the elves. With a unique perspective on time and relationships I wish to welcome Rhys Talloran - Male Elf Investigator (Empiricist) to the group. Will he find the spark to burn brightly and acomplish a lot in the coming times, or will he fade away as the year pass by? This tale will tell.

Elves have long memories, but even they only remember things that has happened in their lifetime. Will the memeries of the past guide the man who's just now coming into his own in this lifetime. Or will he yet again be someone in need of resuce from pretty elves and strong warriors? Shaelu resuced him once, how will he deal with her in the future? Seishin of the Wheel - Male Samsaran Cleric of Tsukiyo is the final member of the group.

It's doubtful that they are watching the thread if they think they are too late. If you wish to wait for them to make submissions it might be best to PM them directly.

Yeah, I'm considering to call it close, but I know a few players are still working on their characters. I'll give them time to finish. It's more important to get going with the right group rather than get going a few days earlier. Thanks for all the wonderful submissions so far, I'm just about up to date with the submissions.

Fluff all done now. Submission is complete. I will keep going over the character to ensure there are no blatant errors or omissions until close of recruitment. If there are, I'll correct them asasp.

Thank you for your consideration, GM Romantic Jade. :)

I actually like your story, however there's a major problem. Neither Sandru nor any of the other NPCs have ever been as far away as Minkai, it's literally on the other side of the world. The campaign starts in Sandpoint in Varisia. The party does not start out with a caravan, but rather they need to investigate why the local goblins have gotten more troublesome as of late.

GM, what do you suppose the price for a holy symbol made of jade would be?

There aren't any rules for Jade in pathfinder unfortunately. I see that it's currently more valuable than gold, however I think 100 GP is a bit too much to pay for a holy symbol, so I'll give it the same price as silver at 25 GP. Does that sound fair?

I've finally decided to throw my hat in the ring as a GM. I present to you Jade Regent, an adventure where you (eventually) travel across the edge of the world to uncover ancient legacy in the far east.

The campaign introduce a number of NPCs that the characters can build relationships with as the story progress. I want to put a greater focus on those relationships with the goal that each PC eventually gets romantically involved with one NPC. As such I'll be selecting four players, one for each NPC. I've also decided to make Koya slightly younger to make such a relationship seem more natural. I'll also allow submissions paired with a gender-swapped version of Koya (Koy) to balance the gender distribution.

Races: All medium sized races will be allowed, however I will maximum be picking two outside of core and I'm much more likely to pick races with ties to the east from the exotic races.
Classes: All classes from any Paizo publication will be allowed except for Gunslinger (bolt ace allowed) and unchained summoner (use the normal version).
Alignments: Characters can be of any Good or Neutral alignment. No evil alignments will be allowed.
Abilities: 20 Point Buy
Skills: We will be using the background skills system
Feats: Any feat from any Paizo publication will be acceptable except Sacred Geometry. We will be using elephant in the room, unchained rogues, swashbucklers and other that get weapon finesse from class can pick an additional combat feat for free.
Traits: Characters will start with two traits, one of which be from the Jade Regent Player’s Guide. A drawbacks for a third trait will be allowed. The Younger Sibling trait will be allowed, but you have to pick a second campaign trait for a NPC to romance.
Hit Points: Characters will start out with maximum hit points for their class at 1st level. Thereafter characters will roll for their hit points (or accept ½ hit die+1) whichever is greater.
Starting Gold: Characters will roll for their starting gold (or accept the average for their class) whichever is greater.
Posting rate: I would greatly prefer if everyone are able to post at least once per day, though I understand that some days things don't work out and absences are ok if they are notified.
Communication: I'll be creating a discord server for OOC chatter and to easier get hold of each other, but the actual playing will happen on these boards.

Feel free to ask here or PM me if you have any questions. If there's any feature or class that you feel have been hit too hard by errata, I might allow the pre-errata version.

Deadline is tentatively 2nd of August, but I might move it up if I get too many submissions. I'll let you know at least 24 hours in advance if that's the case.

I think it's a good if everyone introduce themselves, we're not supposed to know what's on each others' sheets.

Kendrella smiles as it's her turn to speak. "Thank you for taking this initiative Gregor. Getting to know each other is both nice and useful. However we all have our history. If you disagree with the way something is done, it'll be a lot easier to get it changed of you're nice about it and explain why rather than insult or make fun of someone. I'm sure Aerys is as stressed as the rest of us by these violent changes of plans. If any of you have concerns or worries you don't want to share with everyone I would be more than happy to lend you a willing ear." She speaks loudly so that Aerys is sure to hear what she's saying. She looks around at the crowd while talking, trying to meet the gaze of as many people as possible with a smile and a look of her own.

"As for me, I'm Kendrella Lefuriel. I grew up in the jungle surrounded by fantastical and magical creatures. I can draw upon my bond to the land to create awesome illusions or to make the land itself come alive. I'm sorry if the acid earlier scared you. There was little time to explain or to even think of a great solution. It worked to confound the creatures, though sadly it caused some disarray among our own ranks as well. I'll try to think of better measures next time, but if any of you have suggestions for images that could fool the enemy, please let me know."

"As for what to do next, I don't like splitting up into small hunting or exploration parties much. Anyone who wants can remain here of course, it if we all left there wouldn't even be a need to return here at all. Greater numbers give much better protection anyway. If we do split up, I don't think we should split into more than two groups. The six of us that went to check out the ship, could continue the exploration inland tomorrow for example. I don't have much skills hunting, but my magic can disorient or even knock out dangers we might face and I can also speak with animals. I came on this trip to explore the world anyway. I'm quite happy to explore more of the jungle. "

"Hopefully that means they'll also leave us once their meal looks inedible as they'll be to stupid to realize it's a trick. This is just an illusion to make them leave, not actually real." Kenderella says quickly before chanting a set of arcane words while tapping her fingers up along her arms in a complex set of gestures. Suddenly acid seems to burst up all over the party. Flesh seems to melt where it's touched by the acid and the ground starts disolving, though there's no actual damage.

In Port Peril another passenger joined the ship. Right before the ship was going to depart a gnome woman came riding down the docks and hailed them. It was a strange figure with hair all the colors of the rainbow, even more striking than most gnomes. She was wearing a green light gauzy dress that covered her from neck to toes billowing behind her from the motion. Despite her small stature, it was clear she was no child, with generous curves not hid at all by the thin garment. The creature she was riding was another surprise. A big black jungle cat, a jaguar.

Panting from exertion she reached the gangplank before it was pulled up. "Is this the Jenivere? I heard you were leaving back towards the jungle shortly. I'm Kenderella Lefuriel and I would very much like to book passage. This is such a magnificent ship and I would be delighted to be able to sail with you." Recovering her breath her expression changes to a bright cheery smile. She turns on the charm to be allowed on board, suppressing for a moment thoughts about the events that just transpired.

Sorry, I've been too caught up with real life.

Seeing Sykes morose look, Aleziella goes over and gives him another comforting hug from the side. "Whoever that ring belonged to, we got vengeance for them too. Maybe life will bring love everlasting down the road, but we don't know that at this point. Until we reach that point, we should try to find happiness we can. As for Lamm's death not being painful enough. At least it's final. He won't trouble anyone no more. I'm glad he's gone."

Brooch: 3d54 ⇒ (8, 20, 22) = 50
Aleziella studies the remaining items. Shuffling her own deck of cards she draws one for each of them, The Beating, The Survivor and The Brass Dwarf. "The Kraken is worth about 200 gold. Not sure about the crown or the brooch though. This time you proved more knowledgeable than I. Perhaps we can find someone else to appraise the last couple of items."

Spellcaft (wand): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 1 = 26
Spellcaft (vial): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 1 = 26
Brooch: 2d54 ⇒ (53, 49) = 102
Turning to the two magic items she studies them. This time the The Betrayal and The Marriage pops out from her deck, granting her far greater success at divulging magical properties. "The wand casts magic missile. It's unfortunately not within my domain of magic. I guess I'll stick to my bow. If none of us become adept at using wierd magical devices I think it would be best to sell it. The vial is silversheen. Some enemies are protected from normal weapons, but vulnurable to silver. This would make it easier to damage such."

"I also recognize the knife. Wierd coincidence that. I do not think Gaedren is the killer, but perhaps we can find someone interested in buying it? Or if we find someone adept at reading such items, we could find out more about what happened with that case..."

"I agree that we should focus on the children for now. But if we end up without other things to do, we should head over to the guards to deliver the ledger. Helping rooting up Gaedren's network would be good."

Aleziella takes utmost care to study the harrow deck. "I feel Zellar's spirit calling to me from this deck. She still watches over us from within. We'll be able to speak to her spirit once per day. It might be prudent to ask her what sort of burial rite she prefers for her head. Burned, buried or cast to the sharks, I do not know what God she venerated the most. But I think we should see to the children first. Wake them up and tell them that Gaedren is no more. It might be too late to venture out to the city with them now. But it would be good to bring them to a place more suitable for children. Maybe and orphanage or a temple or even return them to their families if they still have any. After we've dealt with the children, we can try to reach Zellara through the deck."

Aleziella gives Sykes a quick peck on the cheek before stepping away with a lingering gaze. "I'm grateful that my prayers many prayers for vengeance have been answered. No more people will have to suffer under Lamm. At least he will not be able to ruin any more lives." She spots Joeseph starting to rummage through Lamm's possessions and looks about the room for anything else to investigate, drawers, desks or the like...

"Our tasks here tonight are still not done though. We need to figure out what to do with all the kids upstairs. There might be more useful items or information in this hideout somewhere."

Alezella looks over at the others in turn, her lingering at each of them before stopping at Sykes. "For a long time I've been trapped under Lamm's thumb or the lingering shadows of what happened. I haven't really thought beyond this point. Revenge was my goal. But now... I don't want to go back to a life on the streets. With you guys I feel filled with purpose and like I belong, something I haven't really felt much since coming to Korvosa. Even with Lamm dead, I hope that we can still work together somehow. What else aren't you telling us? Have you been on this side of the base before? What's the layout of the rest of the base? How do we best sneak up on Gaedren or is there yet more unknown ground ahead?"

While waiting for a reply she pulls out another card, this time showing a woman with various orbs and bands of colour swirling about her. She puts her hand firmly on Sykes' shoulder as she says. With practiced precision she lets loose, praying that she can hit the spider rather than her companions.

It's funny how much dice rolls can change how a battle feels. We had this super fast fight against the powerful ruffians up top, but we can hardly hit these spiders at all. Clearly the spiders was the more difficult encounter :).

"A drain spider! They're poisonous and you'll grow weaker if they manage to infect you." Aleziella shouts out in alarm once she spots the little creature. Though given how she's too busy studying Sykes, that's probably well after the creature is dead...

"I hope for your sake this works..." Aleziella says as she moves after the other. Her hands fidgets along her bow nervously. Once they get into the boat she reaches for another card from her deck. The uprising, showing a group of people carrying pitchforks and torches against the backdrop of a blazing inferno. "May the luck of the harrow guide you. It's not much, but it might be enough to tip the scales in our favor in what's to come." She says with a smile as she touches Sykes gently.

Cast guidance on Sykes if we do manage to follow the gnome down into the ship without problems...

Aleziella stuffs whatever the others doesn't grab in a sack, assuming it's not too heavy. Ready to drop it if necessary. She also puts the weapons from the gnome there so he doesn't get any funny ideas.

"The bow is too stiff for me, I can't pull it properly, so you can have it. Go ahead and don the armor Sykes, I'll try to not be too distracted by the view." Aleziella says, looking at Sykes appreciatively before turning back to the others.

"I still say we let out the kids first, perhaps one of these keys will work at opening the door." She holds up the keys the looted. "But if you are all for it, maybe we can go to Gaedren first. Is there a way there that doesn't go through where the kids and the dog are? What can we expect from Gaedren, does he have any tricks up his sleeve for fighting us off?"

I guess we can proceed, assuming there is such a way...

Hopefully there will be enough great characters submitted so we can have a great game together. It's not long left until the deadline.

I want to wish you luck with the selection Mioki, hopefully you'll be able to pick the right people for a fun game.

Aleziella breaks out in sweat as a horrible vision of the half-orc crushing Sykes' skull flashes before her eyes and she cries out in alarm. "Sykes, watch out!" Thankfully the vision is cut short by Sykes striking down the man.

With life going topsy turvy, accessing roll20 haven't been as easy as I would like. I moved my character inside, but Syke's should go in too. Since you didn't post about us finding anything of interest in the room, I assume Aleziella's quick search turned up empty?

Aleziella pulls out yet another card from her deck and briefly touches Sykes, squeezing his muscles slightly before pulling away. "The eep, natural good card of strength. May it bolster you in our trials to come."

Guidance on Sykes for +1 to one roll within the next minute.

Aleziella looks over at the pale man. "Care to help out here handsome? We'll need your big muscles if we're going to have any hope of forcing down this door. I doubt this old man nor myself will manage it by ourselves. I haven't exactly been training strength much... Unless you have any better ideas? Then I would love to to hear them." At tynne mention of her training she winks suggestively and strokes her hand on her hip, but otherwise she's all business as she motions towards the door, getting ready to help out. Once everyone are in position she'll pull out the bear from her deck to grant guidance. "The bear is a beast of pure strength. May he aid us in getting this door down."

Before setting out Aleziella nods. "Yes, let's go. As we talked about earlier, it's best if we stay nearby if anything happens, so we should stay a street over or so, depending on what's practical."

When it's time to part Aleziella says. "I got a bit of magic to help you stay hidden, it's not much, but perhaps it'll be the little bit of luck that tips the scale." She pulls forth a harrow card from her deck, a picture of a two-headed giant Ettin laying in front of a bard. "The joke grants power to overcome challenges by trickery and unexpected means, just like you will sneak up completely unexpected and unnoticed to see what's going on."

Guidance, would be nice if you could add +1 to their stealth rolls.

Aleziella follows along enraptured by the magic of ghostly harrow. She just sits there stunned for a moment once it's awesome. "Wow, that was awesome? Couldn't you feel the power? It was literally thrumming in the air."

The elf gets thoughtful for a moment "Crows eh? I hope it refers to what I have already lost, what I had stolen from me for so long. My deck too was stolen by him and he used it to keep me in his thrall. That's over now and soon it will be avenged. With your help I'm sure we will succeed."

"The reading suggested we would be wise to gather information before we strike. So our previous outlined plan of scouting out the warf sounds like a great idea. We just have to keep our wits about us and we'll prevail."

"The future part of the reading I have to ponder more. I do not know how much of it will be affecting our current mission, but it seems like we will be tasked with giving of ourselves and showing compassion to others. That's more your forte than mine Viria. Though it's not like I don't have anything to give." She strokes a hand along her slender curves and winks at Sykes. "But enough of that. Now it's time to strike before our path turns into yet a cold false trail."

I added my harrow point to the header

Aleziella hugs him close, stroking his back slowly. His muscled body is turning her mind to other things for a moment, but she stops herself and focuses on business as she says. "Gaedren have wronged us all in some way. He does unspeakable things with little regard for those who's lives get ruined by his actions. I can't undo what he has done, none of us can. But we can make him pay."

She lets go and steps back catching the other with her eyes. "What do you all say? Gaedren deserves nothing but vengeance. We could team up and take him out of business."

I feel like it would have been more appropriate if it didn't pass a full year since Aleziella escaped, with the events more fresh as she would actively want to seek vengeance before that much time passed.

are we using past or present tense?

Aleziella had felt shock and surprise at finding the harrow card in her deck. How has this gotten in here? Who put it there? But when she read the message she felt excitement and a grim smile lit up her face. Yes! Gaedren Lamm. Seems like you have wronged more people than me. It's time for you to pay. She offered up a brief prayer to Calistria in thanks. "Thank you Sacred Sting for bringing me in path of this opportunity. I vow that I'll do the utmost to uphold your holy vengeance, so please bless me in this endeavour."

--

After waking up and noticing the position of the sun, Aleziella rushes over to the basin to wash herself. She's meticulous even as she hurries, being clean is important in her profession. Damn, I won't have time to commune to refresh my spells. She thinks while preparing herself. The young elf dresses in her provocative outfit, a low cut top that pushes up her perky medium sized breasts and makes them seem larger that also leaves her midriff bare along with a sheer skirt that hugs her hips with a long slit up each side to make movement easier and to reveal tantalising flashes of bare flesh underneath. She also fastens a metal corset that perfectly fits with the top. It's not much, but it might offer some protection and it doesn't impede her in any way.

With a last look around she grabs her bow and a quiver and offer another prayer to Calistria before leaving. "My desire for vengance burns bright. I've worked tirelessly in holy service to sate the lust of the needy. Please shine your blessings on me as I carry out that which is coming for the wicked men of this world. The unquenchable fire, the lady in the room, I call upon thee so you can see what I'm about to do and lend me what luck you can so that I might succeed." Finally she sets of, walking at a hurried pace to make it to the meeting place on time.

Very happy to be here. I've had a long hiatus from pathfinder and pbp, but I'm very excited to be back. Thanks for showing faith in me Mathpro. I don't have any other games at the moment, so should have no problems keeping at least one post per day. This character was originally made as an oracle, but I changed her to sorcerer because you requested more arcane characters.

Kendrella is primarily focused on battlefield control at the moment, but will certainly branch into buffs and utility soon enough. she'll also have great social skills and her BFF (big furry friend) will help out as much as possible in melee.

I was very torn on my starting spell selection as I really wanted mage armour and especially enlarge person. I'll probably try to pick up scrolls or wands of those asap. @Sizara: Are you interested in enlarge person? Or are anyone else? If you're not, perhaps I should try for long arm instead or something...

1)Re: Feat from the player's guide: Acadamae graduate feat is by no means overpowered. If you compare a wizard with a summoner without their Eidolon... Aleziella can summon 5 times per day as a standard action for 10 rounds without risk of getting fatigued and still with a higher hit dice and the rest of her spells available. It does a lot to make summoning more viable for a wizard though, and given the lore behind the Acadamae, it's a shame if they can't summon with the best of them.

2)Re:Party comparison, while witches and inquisitors both can heal if necessary, they probably want to devote most of their resources elsewhere. Wouldn't it be easier to move Riren over (or replace someone)?

oyzar's character here. Please don't read the questions part yet as I'm not done with it. The crunch and background story is done though. Due to the way I've written the backstory, it's kind of focused on one aspect though. I hope to flesh her out further through the questions.

I've used APG and ARG for additional sources. I might still change the resilient trait to reactionary or elven reflexes, it's hard to decide.

Ugh, I didn't take into consideration the GP limit on items... Normally the limit is on maximum half the wealth for a single item, but cutting it down to 2500 means the blinkback belt is off limits. A blinkback belt would make things so much easier. Before that it's not really viable to upgrade my weapon. I guess I'll have to hope to track down one after the game starts. Hopefully we'll eventually be able to get a place with a decent selection of items. It's such a shame it takes so much for a throwing based character to get going.

I guess I could pick up a Cracked Opalescent White Pyramid and a Wayfinder in order to get Weapon Focus with the starknife. That might save me from having to take that warpriest level. Then I could start with Swashbuckler 3/Ninja 2. Though it's not like that's the only thing warpriest gives me, but it does make it easier to handle the feat taxes.

Selune fits very well in a game where we'll be fighting the followers of Shar. Thanks for mentioning it :).

Would you allow me picking up a Lesser Crystal of Return? It's certainly not a full blinkback belt, but it would at least make things more manageable. And it'll save me from getting Quick Draw to boot. It's from Magic Item Compendium. Note that a lesser weapon crystal has to be attached to a weapon +1, so it would only work for one of my weapons (though I can move it around later if I get a different magic item).

Better late than never... Oyzar's character here. Sorry for taking so long and writing so long. I've adapted it from another submissions so if there are something that seem out of place I might have forgotten to correct it. I doubt I'll have much time to change things before you are finished with your considerations, but I would be happy to do so if that's your wish.

I will be moving the post forward later tonight, but I did want to apologize to you guys as I was not running the game fair last night. In all honesty the nurse should have attacked Dervak but I did not want to potentially kill him. This is a tough encounter and I am not a fan of the way they wrote the tactics. My rational in my head was that Dervak was behind her and when he bit her and then got hit in the face with acid she just lashed out at the first thing in front of her, aka the pony. But again I am sorry for trying to "protect" the PCs from dying as I know that can ruin a game for people by my "protecting" the PCs. So I will do my best to be fair and ensure that I am using the best tactics even if it means I may kill one of the PCs. I guess at times I try hard to please everybody since this is almost all new to me again and I just want everybody to have a good time. Again sorry to everybody and I look forward to you guys running this AP with me!

You don't have to kill anyone for my sake... I agree with you that a game can be more fun if the behavior of the opponents are adapted to the situation.

Are you simply attacking him? Then you get another attack and can roll to crit(but you'll lose the grapple at the end of the round). If you are rolling to damage as part of maintaining the grapple you don't get to crit I believe.

Previously
After thinking for a bit Rukzha comes up with some information. "Like all demons these are resistant or immune to elemental damage. They might be closer to dead than living though, the way they use dead bodies to their bidding. Like undead they are harmed by positive energy and use negative energy to drain the life out of their enemies. Steel your minds to avoid succumbing to their power. The bloated corpses they inhabit makes them slow to react though, making them weak to spells that require good reflexes to avoid."

"As for the plan, if we could catch them unaware that would be great. Let's do this." Rukzha is eager to yet again test out her magic against these hated foes. "Oh, Arrika. I'll lend you some of my power. That should make it easier for you to deceive them." She clutches the two days old scar on her upper arm.

----

Now
Rukzha once again chants the guttural tones accompanying her magic. She draws forth a tiny clump of spider web from the pouches around her waist. Her guttural chanting is acompanied by animated movements as she reaches around herself as if for a big hug.

There is an item called holy weapon balm that is really good for archers versus undead. For a melee type it only works for one hit, but it'll let you dip 10 arrows in it which then remains for a minute.

Quote:

HOLY WEAPON BALM

Price 30 gp; Weight 1/2 lb.
This violet balm comes in a small ceramic pot. When applied to a weapon as a standard action, it forms a transparent coating. Weapons coated in this balm deal an additional 2d4 points of damage to undead or evil outsiders. A creature affected by the balm must succeed at a DC 10 Reflex save or take an additional 1d4 points of damage the following round. Any nonmagical weapon coated with the balm affects incorporeal undead or evil outsiders as if it were a magic weapon. Any magic weapon coated with the balm affects incorporeal undead or evil outsiders as if the weapon had the ghost touch special ability. The balm remains effective until you make a successful attack with the weapon or until 1 minute has passed, whichever is sooner. Each dose of balm can coat one weapon or 10 pieces of ammunition.

I don't have the funds, but a cold iron Lucerne Hammer could potentially help against some forms of DR (for example against skeletons) for Zariya, it'll cover bludgeoning, piercing and cold iron.

I also worry that we potentially don't have enough alchemical items, but that fear might be unfounded.
