Hmm. Let's add another kitsune into the mix: meet Okichiko, haver of many tails (eventually). She's mostly complete except for background, but in short she will have been rescued by Shalelu and watched over by Ameiko, so she's a bit flexible as far as the NPC she can be paired with.

GM Romantic Jade |

@Kwai Chang Caine: I was thinking Koy(a) would still be in her late forties, not actually young, just younger than described. Though if people are still not interested in picking him\her at that age, I could allow changing it further. Do please note so in your profile if that's the case.
I liked the question\answer in Ikoma Gohei's profile about comfort level. If people could include that in their profiles it could be helpful. Some things might not fit on the forum, but I'm sure we'll be able to figure things out.
I haven't read through all the profiles yet, but I'm slowly getting there. Thanks so much for all the interest so far and a big thanks to dragoncat for the table :).

I appreciate your taking the time to go through our submissions. I can raise the ages up a bit higher, as warranted; although, if it is a cougar relationship to a degree that's fine...lol.
Example: Caine 25 Koya 35?Also added the Comfort spoiler.

Daiomadex "Dex" Billins |

Added the question/answer section to Dex' profile (and spoilered it in this post). Thanks for requesting that, as it was really fun to fill out, and thanks for thinking of the idea, Ikoma!
I'm fine, thank you for asking! I'm a HS history and English teacher and I love stories and cause/effect relationships and how events lead to more events so nothing is in isolation. I think that's a lot of what makes AP's so appealing to me.
-How often do you tend to post?
I check the forum multiple times per day and post when I think it would be fitting. I won't force five posts a day or anything, but sometimes it can pick up quite a bit. I'd say one to two times on average.
-What kind of tone are you looking for in this game?
Well, I do enjoy a balance of humor, and the dynamics of character relationships (which is not always drama). I love the role play aspect of Pathfinder far more than the sheer stats and ability scores. I want an effective character, sure, but more importantly, I want an interesting and enjoyable character who lives in a fleshed out world.
-What do you expect out of your fellow players?
Character interaction. I want our characters to be more than just flank buddies. As an example, in an AP I was playing, my soft-hearted bard saw an orphan child trying to sell badly made dolls in the marketplace, failed the sense motive role to recognize that she was a con artist, so the rogue (who he has a massive crush on) picked his pocket so the little thief couldn't. She then gave his coin purse back to him later without any real explanation and his only response was, "Oh, thank you!." An interaction like that comes from letting the characters build relationships and understand each other.
-What do you expect out of me (the GM)?
A fleshed out world with realized/fleshed out NPC's. While the focus is, of course, on the four potential love interests, if the rest of Sandpoint (and other places we go) are just a watered down background, the story world loses something. Again, an example: I run a Pathfinder club at the school where I teach and the gal playing the "mom friend barbarian" (I love my creative crew!) was so enamored by a little street urchin that they encountered (intended to simply provide some information and fade into memory) that she praised and fed the child and invited her home with them to have a soft bed and food and eventually adopted her and we role played the whole adoption process. Sometimes the story world grows with the characters.
-What is your comfort zone? Where's the line for you in RP terms?
No reason not to let the characters have real, fleshed out lives. Sometimes there's good, sometimes bad. As to the idea of this as a "romantic adventure," that may lead to potentially awkward places, but as long as everyone handles it maturely, no worries.
-How do you see your character progressing as a character?
Dex is in the midst of change as the AP starts. She has already experienced loss, connection, fear, growth, and now she is finding that there are aspects of herself she is only just discovering: her own sexuality, for example. The adventure will be a journey of self-discovery for young Dex, not only in terms of will she be with Shalelu or Koy, but also, is she just the tavern brawler, just the caravan muscle, or is she something different altogether from either of those? Bear in mind, she is a warpriestess who is not actively a priestess and bears the unholy symbol of Rovagug on her hand. Will she follow her adoptive father's example as a warrior, her biological father's example as a servant of Iomedae, will she balance them, or will she find a different path? Her journey is one of love, life, and faith.

This is Chesca Wyndamere's submission: Female Human (Tian-Min) Bard (Lotus Geisha) linked to Sandru. With the other kitsune submissions, I decided to go with Human instead. The crunch is on the profile page. I am currently working on the fluff. :)
Starting Gold: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3) = 11x10=110 gp. (Taking, as a tad better than average.)

Special Abilities
---------------------
Martial Flexibility 4/4 (Ex): brawler can take a move action to gain the benefit of a combat feat she doesn’t possess. This effect lasts for 1 minute. The brawler must meet all the feat’s prerequisites. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + 1/2 her brawler level (minimum 1). The brawler can use this ability again before the duration expires in order to replace the previous combat feat with another choice. If a combat feat has a daily use limitation (such as Stunning Fist), any uses of that combat feat while using this ability count toward that feat’s daily limit.
Brawler's Cunning (Ex): If the brawler’s Intelligence score is less than 13, it counts as 13 for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites of combat feats.
Martial Training (Ex): At 1st level, a brawler counts her total brawler levels as both fighter levels and monk levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats. She also counts as both a fighter and a monk for feats and magic items that have different effects based on whether the character has levels in those classes (such as Stunning Fist and a monk’s robe). This ability does not automatically grant feats normally granted to fighters and monks based on class level, namely Stunning Fist.
Unarmed Strike 1d6: At 1st level, a brawler gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. A brawler may attack with fists, elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a brawler may make unarmed strikes with her hands full. A brawler applies her full Strength modifier (not half ) on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes. Usually, a brawler’s unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but she can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on her attack roll. She has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling. A brawler’s unarmed strike is treated as both a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that modify either manufactured weapons or natural weapons. A brawler also deals more damage with her unarmed strikes than others, as shown on Table: Brawler. The unarmed damage values listed on that table are for Medium brawlers.

Background Info
---------------------
Background: The half-brother of Ameiko Kaijitsu, Sho was a trouble-maker from the day he learned to crawl. While she was the more subltly disobedient child, sneaking out to play with friends and enjoy herself, Sho was openly rebellious. Disruptive, disobedient, loud, and obnoxious, his punishments were usually severe to the point of nearly cruel. It was during these times of supposed contemplation and introspection that he would sneak out of the manor and head into town to escape his parents' constant vision. It was here that he met Koya and grew close to the Mvashti family. Her grandmother, Madame Niska, grew fond of the young boy who was so enamored with her daughter and willing to do whatever he needed to do to stay in her company. Time and time again, he was caught outside of the manor spending time with the family yet Madame Niska's persuasive manners kept him from being scolded too much. When Sho was too much for his family, he would even be loaned to the Mvashti family to work "as labor" as a punishment just to keep him out of the house.
The conflicts between Sho and his father, Lonjiku, only grew more worse as Sho grew older. After a heated argument over the usefulness of his lesson, Sho shattered a prized flute. Enraged, Lonjiku nearly beat his son to death if it was not for his wife's intervention. Calmed enough to keep from ending Sho's life, he immediately sent him away to a monastery and cut him out of the wealth of the Kaijitsu family. Sho arrived at the Temple of the Open Palm beaten, tired, with nothing to his name except his wounded pride and deep-seated anger. His time at the temple was short and tumultous; the calm serenity that the monks sought conflicted with the wild tempest that was Sho. He only had learned the basics of their martial arts before being punished for starting a fight with two senior students. Unwilling to be constrained by how people believed he should be, Sho escaped the temple and fled into the night with a sack full of potatoes and dreams.
The potatoes disappeared quickly and the young man's dreams became focused on food and shelter. While within the forests one night, he came across a camp that was just settling in for the night. Driven by hungry desperation, Sho sought to grab what he could and sneak back off into the night. Before he could fill his rumbling stomach though, he was caught by a man by the name of Draco Castilus. Impressed by the boy's sneaky nature and the solid left hook he could throw, he fed the young man and recruited him into his gang of rapscallions and ne'er-do-wells. As a bandit, Sho excelled in sneaking into places and catching his foes off-guard with his skill in hand-to-hand combat. Well-fed, well-received, Sho likely would've stayed a criminal had he not run into his sister in the field of combat.
The bandits had grown more violent as they grew in power; no longer surviving off the backs of the well-off but terrorizing the weak and poor. Ameiko and her band of adventurers encountered them and at a battle within the bandit's headquarters, Ameiko and Sho faced off with his leader at his side. Pleading for her brother to look and see what he had become, Sho had a change of heart and struck a blow to the back of the bandit leader's head. After a quick but vicious battle, Sho apologized to Ameiko for everything he had done and promised he would turn a new leaf. For years, he traveled to learn how to fight better and to help those who couldn't help themselves. For years, shame kept him from ever returning home. Then he heard that Madame Niska was gravely ill and, unable to say no to the woman who cared for him, he returned home.
Returning to Sandpoint was surreal; it was as if nothing yet everything had changed. He learned about the deaths of his half-sibling, his mother, and his father. Out of respect, much like his half-elf sibling, he adopted his father's surname. Yet it was at Madame Niska's deathbed that he received the charge that would change his life. She asked him to watch over her granddaughter, ensure she was safe if she ever left on a long journey. An oddly strange and specific request, Sho agreed. A few weeks later, the elderly woman passed on and a strange sense of destiny came to him. It didn't help that Koya had grown from a beautiful girl to a gorgeous woman, one who still made his heart skip a beat.
When the news was made that they were setting up a caravan and that both his half-sister and his charge were going, Sho volunteered himself. He had learned how to drive wagons while with the bandits as well as take care of their horses and that he had made "a promise". Welcomed by Koya and annoying Ameiko, Sho now readies himself to head on a journey to his own destiny.
Appearance: Sho is a tall, muscular man whose speed and dexterity is surprising. With a little bit of a stomach, one could assume that the brawler doesn't take complete care of himself. His endurance, skill, and sheer strength cannot be underestimated and anyone trained in combat can see that the man moves with the grace of a warrior. His knuckles are covered with scars from fighting bare-handed, his chest and back bearing scars from the hard lessons he has learned. He keeps his hair shaved down close to his scalp, a habit he learned as a bandit to keep clean and has stuck with since. His right ear is nicked near the top from a dagger that he had tried to catch with his teeth when drunk. He wears traveler's clothing underneath a suit of lamellar armor made from leather, a well-worn sling and bullet pouch on his side along a battered but maintained wooden buckler. When expecting trouble, he wraps his hands up with wraps to support and protect himself. It also helps that it looks cool.
Personality: At the surface level, Sho seems pretty simple; he likes to eat, drink, and be merry with his friends. There doesn't seem to be much more to life outside of that and the occasional good brawl to get into. Underneath it though, he still feels ashamed for abandoning his family due to his tantrum and his criminal past and hopes to find moments to redeem himself. Simple-minded but smart enough to know he is, Sho eagerly listens to those wiser than him (especially Koya). In combat, he is as fierce and as cunning as a tiger, using a mixture of training martial arts and nefarious dirty tricks to win. Good-hearted, strong-willed, stubborn, and okay with being silly, Sho tries his best to be the "loveable buffoon" and not the terror he once was.
Comfort Limits: I have played a slew of games that range from cheerful to visceral and dark. I can't honestly think of a thing that would bother me but I prefer scenes have tactical "fades to black" to keep things from getting awkward.
---------------------
I am doing excellent! I started a new job with good hours, weekends off, and working from home. Sometimes my mood is bleh but writing always makes me feel a bit better!
-How often do you tend to post?
I can always do one post a day, as long as there is a post to be made that helps further the stories. I usually like to go for two-three if possible though.
-What kind of tone are you looking for in this game?
Mature with moments of brevity. Everything can't be sunshine and roses but things can't always be bad either. For the romance, I'm seeing Sho and Koya being strangely innocent and reluctant at first.
-What do you expect out of your fellow players?
I expect them to help me push the story forward, to go after hooks, NPCs, and investigations. To add drama and conflict without it ever being personal or too much.
-What do you expect out of me (the GM)?
I expect you to help us make the best of the adventure and to marry your vision of the campaign with our own. I also expect you to laugh wickedly from time to time when your monsters and enemies kick our ass.
-What is your comfort zone? Where's the line for you in RP terms?
I am not the biggest fan of having players who are too diametrically opposite of each other; you can excuse things quite a bit and make things work for the story but too much conflict is disheartening. Too much doom and gloom can also be kind of disheartening, though we can usually do our own stuff to lift the party's spirit.
-How do you see your character progressing as a character?
Sho is still a kid in his head sometimes and still hasn't learned that discipline yet. He is looking for redemption, to become a hero, and to be more than the "big, dumb thug" that others see him as.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Fluff all done now. Submission is complete. I will keep going over the character to ensure there are no blatant errors or omissions until close of recruitment. If there are, I'll correct them asasp.
Thank you for your consideration, GM Romantic Jade. :)
I actually like your story, however there's a major problem. Neither Sandru nor any of the other NPCs have ever been as far away as Minkai, it's literally on the other side of the world. The campaign starts in Sandpoint in Varisia. The party does not start out with a caravan, but rather they need to investigate why the local goblins have gotten more troublesome as of late.

Kanemi Sakai |

@GM Romantic Jade: With the Childhood Crush trait I kind of tried to fit in how they would have met at a younger age for it to have become something in her mind that she would still remember him even if they parted to do their own thing before meeting later in their lives, in Sandpoint. I will adjust the story in my morning and hopefully it’ll suit better. I appreciate the feedback. :)

GM Romantic Jade |

I'm sorry for coming this late with a change to the rules, but I think it'll just make it easier for everyone. I'll allow using whatever ability score you normally use for influencing people with diplomacy to be used for romance. So with empathetic diplomat that would be wis or with student of philosophy\clever wordplay (diplomacy) that could be int.

Venus Val'Khan |

Yeah, I am kinda aware that the game takes you to Tian Xia after some family Drama in sandpoint,
so I kinda deliberately didn't make my character Eastern oriented almost at all... save maybe for the Lamellar armor but i just prefer Lamellar over chain anyways.
im working on my background fluff, but the Paizo golem has eaten it twice and im getting a little fustrated

You can Add Venus to Flexable as well, I just needed somthing to tie him into the game, I am not personally aiming to woo the elf. I mean, a half elf who had a half elf mother, going for another elf, that's alot of elf.....
besides, who knows what will happen in game because I have yet to actually Hammer down his character in a game

Sigrún the Magpie |

Hehe, Sigrun isn’t much of a reader, but she’s from Kalsgard in the Linnorm Kingdoms so she’s not totally unaware of the East’s existence.
She’s a caravan guard by profession, which is about the same as being paid to be a hobo.
”The East somewhere you say? Sure!”
If it’s Sandru’s caravan she wouldn’t even ask about hazard pay before saying yes.

Thakus |

I submit Thakus, my half-orc ranger whose interest is Koya. Since she's being aged down, I took some creative license and assumed Niska is actually her grandmother instead of her mother-- that way Niska is still, like, the oldest person ever upon her death. I'll work on purchasing, but everything else for my character should be done.
Gold: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 3, 5) = 120
Ew. I'll just take the average.

Adrian Liu |

Gold: 1d6 ⇒ 3x10 = 30 GP
It's been alright. I have a job, but it involves handling COVID-19 samples. Thankfully, no one in my place has been infected yet so I keep my fingers crossed.
-How often do you tend to post?
I check the forums a few times a day. I tend to post in the afternoon and evenings CTZ. If a conversation is really good, I could go on for ages.
-What kind of tone are you looking for in this game?
I for one love to have my character interact with the world around them. One of my favorite aspects of Pathfinder is how fleshed out the world is, allowing for a variety of characters to roleplay.
-What do you expect out of your fellow players?
I hope that the dynamic between the players will allow for some fun roleplaying experiences for all. I had a group that focused on roleplaying online and I had a blast with all the interactions between characters. I hope to have a similar connection with others.
-What do you expect out of me (the GM)?
While the focus is on the main 4 NPCs, I would love if you could flesh out as many other characters that may arise from that PC as possible.
-What is your comfort zone? Where's the line for you in RP terms?
I am alright with anything as long as it is done maturely. I'm more inclined to make sure that everyone is comfortable with the way people play their characters.
-How do you see your character progressing as a character?
As you can see with his Charisma score, he is an awkward person. Granted, he strives to help people out and is a rather mature person, he can get flustered over a wide variety of subjects. He hopes to have the confidence to ask out the girl he likes and hopes to see a land he has no memory of. It just so happens that both opportunities have fallen on his lap. He will likely become Team Dad just to make sure nobody gets into trouble, even if he accidentally causes it himself. Despite his exasperation at times, he will play a supportive role to anyone in need of comfort.

Gundar Ironbeard |

@The Kobold Klan: Mine too!
As for the adventure, as much as Gundar would like to date a woman with thick locks on top of her head and on her chin, some times you fall for someone who is not your type!
Aye! She almost be the perfect woman except she ain't got no beard!
EDIT: Of course if the GM made Sandru a dwarven maiden - problem solved!
