Here is an example of a previous player's introduction from the first time through:

Keeya on root to the rondaview point:

Ill be posting under spoilers until I have Keeya meet the other PCs

The Silver wind was speeding thought the sky's on root to an abandoned tower of rock that was seven days journey away.

It was doing so because Keeya has received a letter from one Delman Fredrel Vortani III, Regional Captain of Crimson Knights of the Black Blade. After showing it her father, they and her brother had talked will into the night about what it meant. She was told SkyClan Swift had had for the last three years dealings with the "Blades" as they called them. Mostly just transposition and mostly to places other did not like to do it. This was not publicly known, because the SkyClan Swift did not side with any particular groups. Bad for business, but the "Blades" where an order of hero knights, Fighters of evil that most kept well away from. Of late there had been more and more trouble "evil" that last being the Half-Demons pack army.

"It seems your deeds in that fight have not gone unnoticed Keeya"
Her father said handing her back the letter and blade.

"Yes but what dos its mean?"
She asked

"Don't be dense Sis" Her brother said from his seat "The Blades are asking you to join their ranks. High honour sis, you’re going to be a lady knight, blood oath the whole deal. I hope they put you in the silly looking full plate stuff Nobles ware" He laughed at his own joke.
She throw a vegetable off her plate at him.

"Tinus! This is no joking matter and Keeya please try not to cover the Cabin in food."

Her father smiled, they were in the newly built cabin of the newly rebuilt home-Ship Red mood. Once more flying and fully crewed. Waiting for her new Caption, She had hoped it would be her, but now this?

"Join them?"

Her father nodded.

"Yes they want you in their ranks; you would be the fist from the Clan to do so. It is indeed high honour but it would mean you doing there bidding and not the clans. This would be a problem if not for the fact the Clans aims and the Blades are so close at the moment. Stemming the rise of evil that now under-way in the skies and lands right now and let me make this clear Keeya, it would be very advantageous for the Clan to have a eyes and ears in the blades. Should you do well, even a voice for us in their ranks. But the decision has to be yours, they don't take conscripts. But should you chose to it would help us greatly."

She thought on that a moment

"What if I don't like it, or they are not what they seem"
She said worriedly.
"Then resign your commission sis, if they force you to stay once in then they are not want they say they are, a force for good. But I know you, any change of heroics and your there it’s in your blood you know."

O how she wanted to throw more things at him, the ... but he was telling the truth, she did always look for the fight, always the mad-dash. Life was so.. dull without it. And then her breath, great things the wind-reader had said. Her brother never let her forget it.

Her father gave him a look and he was still, then to her he said.

"Well Keeya it’s up to you, but should you agree to this, I can lone you the Silver-Wind for a while. It’s a lone, any hint of trouble you send her back, and she's not for the Blades to use. I want everything on her back and the Boat itself understood."
He waited until she nodded.
"Good, well she's the fastest way to get you to where ever they need you should you want to go. I suggest you head up to her now and have a think. There is good air tonight so your clear leave the fleet."

He stood and when she did as well, he hugged her, Holding her at arm’s length he said.

"I am proud of you Keeya no matter what you choose, just as I am of all my children. Now take your brother with you can say goodnight or good bye to your mother"

It had been that simple, such was the way of air folk. She had said her good buys and that night set off.

Now she was sat in her cabin holding a blade to the palm of her hand.
Blood they had said, well best get this over with. As the Silver Wind pass high over the lands she cut her hand and looked on as a small red line formed in her hand.

"So Regional Captain Vortani are your there??, this is SkyCaptain Keeya Swift on the Sky-Boat Silver Wind on root to you, are your there??"

She felt so stupid.

Andrei:
The Grey Psychopomp, a sailing vessel out of Varisia, docked at one of the longest docks at The Center of the World, the city of Absolom. Bored dockworkers and child city guides looked on those departing the large shipping vessel. It looked like mostly cargo, but then a colorfully-dressed man staggered down the ramp to the dock proper. From his attire, most people in the know knew this man had to be varisian; which made sense considering The Grey Psychopomp's departing destination. This varisian man's face was as colorful as the many scarves he wove in and out of his clothes, his mustache twitching with annoyance. Once this man was on solid dock, he lazily looked around and saw he, like most times, attracted the attention of those around him. Licking his lips, the varisian held up one finger, as if to indicate he'd be right back. The varisian staggered back to the edge of the docks, in front of The Grey Psychopomp's name on the ship, bend over, and proceeded to empty the contents of his stomach in a loud and violent manner. Apparently sea travel wasn't for him.

After what seemed like an eternity, the varisian was upright once more, wiping his mouth, and brushing his long hair from his face. Andrei Fidecupa, cleric of Cayden Cailean, took off his well-made backpack and pulled a long slender wand from it's contents. Taking a long drink from his waterskin, the caydenite touched himself with the wand. Magically, the smell of sick was replaced with pine, his clothes pressed and smelled like it was just taken of the clothes line, and Andrei's tabard of Cayden Cailean's holy symbol was prestine once more. Straightening out his look, Andrei shouted to the onlookers, who made expressions of amazement and disgust, ”Okey. Î wont dîrecțșhunș țo dâ Âşcândânt Courț, pleășe?” It took a moment for the city guides to make out his broken Taldane. Soon he was swarmed by children running up to get his work. Andrei made a practiced grip over his coin purse, and was able to not only secure directions to the center of religion in Absalom, but a guide to take him up to The Starstone.

It took over a hours to go around The Coins, Absalom's wealthy district, but both Andrei and the guide, who's name was Richter, up to the busy chaos around The Starstone. Once there, Andrei paid his several silvers to the boy, who took his pay and ran back to The Docks. After a half hour of asking the right people in the square, he found the correct heavy to bribe to get Andrei to the closet broken bridge where it was reported Cayden Cailean, his ancestor, staggered into The Starstone and came back out a god. The heavy gave the caydenite about 5 minutes on the bridge, so he had to make it count. Andrei quickly took out a bottle of Chelish wine and emptied the contents into the abyss between The Starstone and the rest of Absalom. As he pour, Andrei belted out a varisian song of thanksgiving to his ancestor, his deity, his confidant, and drinking buddy, Cayden Cailean.

As he left the bridge, Andrei got some curious looks and a few rounds of applause. There! The cleric thought. Now I will hear out these Black Blade people. If nothing else, I got a free trip to Absalom for my pilgrimage to The Starstone. If I am late, oh well. Andrei took out the invitation that mysteriously appeared under the barstool he was sitting on back in Magnimar. The directs seemed to indicate taking the eastern gate out of Absalom to one of the smaller communities on the continent. Stopping to take a several gulps from his waterskin, which Andrei turned to ale, thanks to Cayden's grace, the cleric began his journey to the mysterious meeting place.

There's activity on Gameplay?!!?

Oh yes!!!

We have 7 players right now, as it goes for one reason or another we will likely lose 2 players in the next month.

Any other submissions will be held in reserve unless they can get it all done by the deadline.

I will be going through characters and based on certain things I asked for you might get bonuses.

Hi,
Thanks for inviting me here. I've been working on my backstory instead of posting in the gameplay thread, but it's getting kind of late for posting there now. I'll try to get a post in the morning. I still haven't actually completed all the requirements yet, but at least I got a complete sheet, including gear and a backstory now.

It's interesting that you mentioned Nemesis as a background feat. I had also considered that for my character with regards to his sister.

Yep, I think we're apt to see a lot of overlap on our characters and goals. Blaze and Baahir particularly. With a fire theme, it's go big or go home! XD

Who's up for some hag hunting? Maybe a hag coven! [/giddy]

I think it's hilarious we both went for "burn the witch!"

I need to update my own game and then I will finish out gear. Am I right in thinking we don't have our "gifts" yet on arrival?

And someone that can understand him wanting to incinerate hags is quite welcome! I have always wanted to make a changeling and "burn the witch" felt great for it.

Two sarenrae worshippers, two clerics, two burnt people and I'm sure there's many more. It's cool to find similarities between our characters. How come you're a male changeling though? I thought that in pathfinder all changelings were female.

Nazetoz has traveled far from his Northern ancestral home. I still haven't detailed what he did on the way to Absalom. Perhaps he met some of you on the way? It could be cool if we linked up our backstories like that.

Unfortunately, we were coming from different directions or I would have us meeting before. As Sarenites we should have some good opportunities for interplay...especially if you want to learn witch magic lol.

For my case I assumed that was something we did before heading to the tavern since he was already waiting there and maybe it was our weapon that was the "one item". Just an assumption on my part though so could be completely wrong.

Thanks!

Ok, the order provided the armor at a 500 discount and what for the "weapon" if you added extras to it? I got a mithral heavy shield with spikes added since I can use a shield but not a weapon, but I ended up just paying for the whole thing since mithral is automatically masterwork. The masterwork quality adds 150 to the price of a weapon, is that an acceptable discount?

I have made out my gear, finally. Got quite a few kits to save on time. Probably some of the stuff is repeated in the crates, but it would make sense for Blaze to have survivalist stuff since she sleeps rough a lot.

Nazetoz smiles down at the scarred woman. "That's an impressive blade. I'm really curious how it works. I can do something similar with my scimitar, wreath it in frost, but I can't yet do fire. It's also only surrounding the blade, not turning it all into elemental force. I've heard that it'll be possible to do that if I forge a stronger connection with the blade though. Perhaps by studying your technique I can better work out how to do that."

Do you want to rp the blade GM Wolf or should I? Rules say the blade isn't always working for the same goals as the wielder.

I will let you RP it. I may interpose at times though.

By Eternal wand, I assume you mean essentially an Eberron-style wand?

Eternal wand:

Eternal wands are wands created with an Eberron dragonshard mounted on the apex. Unlike normal wands, eternal wands only have two charges, which renew every day whenever the wielder rests to regain his spells. Likewise, while the caster level for eternal wands is always the minimum possible for the spell, the additional cost for rare material components is waived due to the rarity of the Eberron dragonshard needed in its construction. In all other ways, they function as per normal wands. The pricing for an Eternal Wand is Caster Level x Spell Level x 800, with an Eberron Dragonshard worth at least 10% of base price.

Eternal Wand (3rd-level spell): Faint (fireball); CL: 5th; Price: 12,000 gp

Construction: Craft Wand, Craft Wondrous Item; Cost: 1,000 gp; an Eberron dragonshard worth at least 5,000 gp.

Yup!

------

I had a great suggestion.
For example, in your game you could:
-Have us roll 2d4: That is how many days of peace we have to roleplay.

-You could have us roll 1d20+any carpentry/tent/survival methods we have and determine within that 2d4 day period how much of the camp we are able to set up.

-Once that is done, post that we are not able to find any signs of goblins nearby except old tracks. Tell us that we have the X days to RP and get to know each other in character. That will let us basically Rp all we want and you don't have to worry about posting.

;) 2d4 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5.days!

Thx SmooshieBanana!

I like this idea. It gives us players time for our characters to gel, because right now we're players, not a team.

Ha ha ha ha ha I was raised by Fey afterall.

"Hmmm?" Thorn retracts his hand from the silverware.
"Not ok? Ok." as he continues with food and drinks but removing his grasping hands away from anything Ethos seems to frown upon. It does take some time though.

Banana has a great idea. Let's do it and see how much Trouble Thorn will get into.
On the other hand, I sense much Fire in our future.

I kind of want to take wand wielder and wand master so I can use it properly. DC 17 is much better than 14 and using it with spell Cindy would be sweet as well. It might fit better for you though if you don't have many good offensive options.

I definitely have offensive options to supplement my healing, including fireball thanks, to my domain which puts the wand on easy use. Wand Wielder is awesome though.

You probably should roll for each day and state what your intentions are with your check.

Lilly are you hunting, foraging, what?

I am also surprised no one looked for traps in the 'cellar'.

I don't really understand what we're supposed to do at this mission. I thought we were supposed to fight some goblins, but now it seems like we're going to build a camp or fort or something?

He wanted us to build an outpost and hunt some goblins.

Here are 4 additional survival rolls
On the first day I personally will be working to set up the tents for camp, predicting weather, and making sure our camp is concealed. Then later in the evening, hunting while foraging. Putting food out of reach of wild animals. Making sure our fires aren't seen.
Survival already rolled.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 For camp

Second day, setting up a wood box for keeping our firewood dry. Making sure that our water supply is clean and flowing freely. Setting up foliage covers to help conceal the camp, but also the clearing. Additionally, this will make it harder to enter the clearing without making noise from our flanks. We will have certain pathways open that we can later trap with the bear traps. These will be moved out of the way to go on patrols.
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 For camp

The next few days will be hunting, preparing skins and furs, and ensuring we have a stockpile of food by drying meat. Also finding alternative water sources nearby.
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Maybe someone else can work on crafting defenses?
Someone else, like a cleric maybe can erect some goblinoid burial mounds to keep patrols from entering our area haphazardly?
Someone else can roll to fell some trees for wood?
Some can work on perhaps building a structure?

Technically, everyone who goes down in the basement should get passive perception checks automatically. But you're right, we should give it more than a cursory glance. I'll work on that in my post.

@Nazetoz, My character also primarily heard "fight goblins" much more loudly than "build outpost". LOL! Did anybody put background points into Profession (Carpenter) by any chance? XD

@Baahir, I posted to you but it was probably buried by the time you caught up. One week, over 100 posts already! XD

Baahir Saber wrote:
"Not necessarily, these coverings are protection from the sun or in my case to hide my own scars. I was just...taken by surprise." he says rather embarrassed.

She simply nodded. "Sun no burn my skin. I burn within." She said, putting hand to heart over the black silk kimono. And then continued dressing.

Baahir Saber wrote:

"It seems not all of us came through. Is everyone well? If we get injured my inner flame can provide succor." he asks the group after the portal closes behind them.

Once it was clear there was no threat, Blaze released her flame blade and turned to look at Baahir quizzically, her face took on that concerned, thoughtful expression as she worked out how to say what she wished in Taldane. "You say, 'Healing Flame"... your flame is healing? My flame... only burns. Even me." She leaned closer taking a much longer look at his holy scar than before.

"You do this?" She said, gesturing to the symbol burned on his chest. She did not touch, knowing well herself that sensation could be twisted in thick scar tissue. "I do these." She said, swishing her tail around her body and into her hands, indicating the artistic branding. It looks to have been made one searing stroke after another and depicted things like the outline of flames, thorns, and fanciful swirls and scrolls. ╰☆╮❃ ☙❦❧ ❅

What can Blaze contribute? Grunt work? Aid someone else's roll?
These skills seem the most useful: Artistry +5? Survival +3, also have a Masterwork Survival kit which provides a +2 circumstance bonus on Survival checks. Could her Pyrography kit provide an Artistry bonus?

Even if we are not using a specific carpentry skill, if we all aid someone, we could get a decent result in planning the outpost. We have 7 players? That's a +12 to someone's roll if we all help. Probably whoever has the highest wisdom would be good to roll. here is my aid another.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

@Blaze, maybe with working with a person with Knowledge Religion, you can make a scary totem that will ward off goblins with your artistry?

Nazetoz got +4 craft which can help to contribute, otherwise all his skills are mostly spent on knowledges, spellcraft, intimidate, climb, swim, dance and linguistics. Crafter's fortune isn't even on the Magus list, nor are most utility spells really.

Looks at Andrei's skills.
Hmm. Looks like life was definitely easier in the caravan, mainly because others had the skills you needed.
No Survival. Profession (bartender) is really good in the wilderness. Andrei took 1 Rank in Craft (alchemy) so he could create mixed drinks. At least every night at the fire will be exciting when Andrei tells his stories, thanks to a Perform (oratory) +10.

So, yeah. Andrei will be assisting others as best as he can over the next couple days.

Andrei could help with that.
