In a smooth, almost mechanical motion, Fei places his hands around Vai's neck. With his left hand, he attempts to absorb all of the magical energies that are healing her wounds. With his right hand, he does something that his emotional mind could not do here. He absorbs every bit of energy in Vai's body. Down to the cellular level, all heat and all motion within her body simply...ceases.

The left hand is trying to absorb the ongoing spell-like effect that is healing her wounds. If that does not work...

The right hand is invoking:

If that does not work either... :(

As Fei draws off the magical energy of the spells cast by Vai, he pulls a little more than he probably counted on, as she practically radiated with magical enhancements and effects.

Fei's gonna have excess energy to dispense with after this is over.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (15) + 26 = 41

Fei's hand clasps tightly around his foe's throat, and stops all motion in her body down to an atomic level. This has the additional effect of momentarily creating a hyper-condensed state of matter within his foe's body as atoms begin to display quantum properties on a macro level. The result is a rather gruesome disfigurement of the once-living creature, twisted completely beyond recognition.

She's definitely dead, and what remained of her body is an unholy ruin of organic matter.

Fei's stance finally falters as the life-leeching magics do their work. The realization that this Vai is not going to flee from this engagement finally sinks in. She will not stop....and he cannot leave the imprisoned slaves here to die.

He quickly asks his Neural Lace to search the site's databases for anything that could help him now, and to get the slaves out of here in case he fails. As it goes to work, the young monk steps up to put Vai back within his reach (using his Champion senses to pinpoint her in the storm), and tries to stop her the only way he apparently can....by not holding back his destructive energies anymore.

Flurry of Blows, maintaining both Dragon Strikes the Waves to roll against Vai's Touch AC, and Valor's Mantle to ignore both miss chance due to her dimensional movement as well as any damage reduction:

Attack Roll: 1d20+46-5; Damage: 2d8+30; Kinetic Surge: 1d6; Total Damage = 42 points

Attack Roll: 1d20+46-5; Damage:...

Fei's merciless attack continues, each blow landing with the brutal crunch of bones breaking, blood erupting from the unseen foe to splash across Fei's nanosuit-clad form. He can feel a pulse of magic from Vai, prehaps a contingency spell activating, though he does not relent.

With the power of a final, resounding blow, Fei's foe is knocked away, her invisibility flickering and fading altogether as her limp form sails across the lab and smashes into a table, breaking it with the force of her landing.

The static and sand swirling around the room instantly begin to abate, leaving only the dust to settle.

There, bloodied and broken she lays among the ruin of what was once a finely crafted table. Blood is pooling around her, adding to the already liberal amount soaking both her body and Fei's hands. As the dust settles, so too does a single, particular tress of hair across her face. With her face finally at rest, there is a brief and horrible moment when she looks exactly like Fei's Vai.

There's a bloody cough from the unconscious form as the body instinctively tries to clear her lungs for air. Looks like the job isn't quite done.

Except that Vai is currently Medium size so loses that nice +16 size bonus on the Great Wyrm stat block. ;P

From Monk, no, but Fei's Enlightened Scholar prestige class gives him the equivalent, sadly.

Does it also have the "rogue 4 levels above" thing? In that case, the sneak attacks should still work. Not that it's going to matter shortly...

Fei, of the Sun Soul wrote:

Fei, grateful for the one constant tactic between the two versions of Vai, is just able to anticipate the worst of her attacks and avoid the fatal amount of trauma they would inflict. That being said, all but the first and last strike still connect with his body.

If this Vai were not in such a hurry now, she might have noticed the lack of reverberation from her blows on her own limbs. But Fei does not give her the chance to ponder this as he launches a withering counterattack against her, returning the force of all her blows back to her at once...

Calculating damage... total damage taken = OUCH.

Static Aura (Electricity Damage): 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Sandstorm Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7

Fei can feel and hear the crunch as his impacts break weaker bones in his opponent's body. Deathly silent she remains though. The sandstorm continues to swirl and twist throughout the room, damaging much of the equipment left here. Oddly enough, there's no bolt of lightning this time. Fei can feel Vai disengage from the combat, just out of his reach, and begin casting a spell.

Spellcraft DC 30:

I added some modifiers due to the visibility conditions.
Fei knows that spell... a necromancy spell. Energy Drain, followed by a Quickened Enervation.

Touch Attack (Energy Drain): 1d20 + 54 ⇒ (17) + 54 = 71
Touch Attack (Enervation): 1d20 + 54 ⇒ (2) + 54 = 56

A sickly green beam of light shoots out from the still-invisible dragon, and strikes Fei dead in the chest. Almost immediately, another, smaller beam of the same flavour follows, though slightly hurried and less accurate.

Energy Drain: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 negative levels.
Enervation: 1d4 ⇒ 2 negative levels.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

You were so close too Fei. ;P

Fei's abrupt arrival and subsequent attempt to latch on to his adversary is met with a similar maneuver, as just as he is reaching out for his target, she vanishes, only to reappear behind him. The chaos of the fight reaches a new level and the elder Vai finally engages Fei claw-to-hand. Another bolt streaks out of the storm, and static ripples out from the humanoid form of the Great Wyrm. Her attacks come quickly and viciously as she uses her dimensional agility to move quickly into position, leaving little time for Fei to get his guard up.

Fortunately for Fei, it seems that no matter what this alternate Vai's history, she favours the same style of combat as Fei's beloved, which he has seen her use to great effect.

(Fei gains +2 dodge bonus against any attack made by Vai while she's using her Dimensional Agility feat line.)

Static Aura (Electricity Damage): 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
Sandstorm Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Storm Bolt Damage (Reflex Half DC36): 24d8 ⇒ (1, 1, 5, 5, 3, 2, 8, 4, 6, 2, 4, 1, 6, 4, 5, 6, 2, 7, 7, 2, 2, 7, 4, 1) = 95

I honestly don't remember if Monks have uncanny dodge or another way to avoid flank/sneak attack so I'll include it anyway and let Fei sort it out :P

Claw #1: 1d20 + 45 ⇒ (1) + 45 = 46; Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 24 ⇒ (1) + (3) + 24 = 28; Sneak Attack: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 5, 5, 2, 2, 6, 1, 1) = 31
Claw #2: 1d20 + 45 ⇒ (2) + 45 = 47; Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 24 ⇒ (4) + (4) + 24 = 32; Sneak Attack: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 6, 1, 4, 4, 1, 6, 6) = 38
Bite: 1d20 + 49 ⇒ (2) + 49 = 51; Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 + 30 ⇒ (6) + (1) + 30 = 37; Sneak Attack: 10d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 2, 6, 1, 6, 4, 2, 5) = 38
Tail Slap: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (19) + 38 = 57; Damage: 2d6 + 1d6 + 30 ⇒ (4, 4) + (5) + 30 = 43; Sneak Attack: 10d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 3, 2, 4, 2, 5, 6, 5) = 32
Wing #1: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (4) + 38 = 42; Damage: 1d3 + 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (1) + (3) + 18 = 22; Sneak Attack: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1, 4, 5, 6, 2, 3, 4, 5) = 34
Wing #2: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (2) + 38 = 40; Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 18 ⇒ (1) + (1) + 18 = 20; Sneak Attack: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 3, 5, 6, 3, 4, 2, 4) = 35

Fei, I think the dice roller just wants us to flail wildly at each other and never hit.

Reflex Save: 1d20+21+2

Fei spends a fraction of a second too long contemplating the permutations of this room being filled with sand, and the bolt of lightning finds its mark.

Constitution Check: 1d20+10
Acrobatics Check: 1d20+45

As the tremendous discharge of energy courses through him the young monk explodes into motion, closing the distance between himself and Vai in barely a heartbeat while navigating the obstacles between them with seemingly little effort.

Capitalizing on his momentum, Fei tries to slam his open palm into her abdomen in an attempt to literally knock the wind out of her lungs and prevent her from further action for at least a few seconds.

Attack Roll (maintaining Valor's Mantle and using Dragon Strikes the Waves to roll against Vai's Touch AC):
1d20+45

Damage (if successful): 2d8+30
Kinetic Force Damage: 1d10 =5d6

If the attack hits, Vai will also need to make a DC 41 Fortitude save or be stunned for the next round.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (15) + 30 = 45

With a tremendous force, Fei strikes his target with unerring precision, his open palm impacting directly in the sternum of his foe. There's an immediate backlash as a static shock rips up Fei's outstretched arm, in addition to a wet cough as his foe's blood is ejected from her mouth to spray across the nanosuit.

Static Aura: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6 electricity damage.

During all this, the silica pouring into the room increases ten-, twenty-, a hundred-, a thousand-fold, and begins violently whipping about the room. The sensors Fei is hacked into are robust, but even these are struggling with the sheer magnitude of particulate flying about the room. The sensors can still be tightened to specific areas, but their effectiveness is being hampered.

Sandstorm Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5

The sensors can now track a radius of 1d10×5 feet every round, and there's a correlating reduction in visibility for Fei (unless there are other factors I haven't considered). Thanks to his encyclopedic knowledge, Fei knows that Blue dragons are not hampered by this, being adapted to desert conditions.

Another bolt of lightning streaks out from the storm, leaving behind a trail of glassed sand as it sizzles towards it's target.

Storm Breath Bolt (DC36 Reflex Half): 24d8 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 3, 5, 7, 3, 5, 3, 7, 1, 1, 4, 4, 2, 6, 4, 6, 8, 1, 4, 1, 7, 5) = 98

Through all the chaos, Fei's target darts away again, clearly aiming to gain the upper hand through control of the battlefield before directly attacking. Her signature vanishes into the sandstorm... though the extreme static in the room indicates she's still lurking somewhere.

Given the nature of the environment, it's going to take a pretty ridiculous preception check to detect Vai at the moment.

Realizing that he is still fighting on his opponent's terms, Fei ends his scrutiny and finally commits to this engagement.

His Lace immediately extinguishes all of the lights in the laboratory, plunging the room into darkness. Knowing that her draconic heritage will still allow her to see in the dark, the young monk wastes no time in trying to put her on the defensive.

With a helpful 'nudge' from the kinetic energy stored in his body (and tapping into his Champion abilities), he adjusts his grip on the table....then hefts the whole thing up and hurls it at his adversary's true position.

Attack Roll, using the Throw Anything feat, kinetic boost for leverage and Valor's Mantle to ignore Vai's concealment (as per True Strike):

1d20+45+20
Damage (utilizing Kirin Strike for extra damage, and ignoring all damage reduction): 2d8+30+20

Kinetic force damage: 1d20 = 14d6

Fei definitely can hear the resounding crack of the table connecting with his intended target, the sudden brutality and precision of the strike clearly took the Champion of Light by surprise, though she's completely silent, not even a painful whimper passing her vocal chords.

Suddenly, there's an extreme buildup of static in the room, and a bolt of lightning streaks out from the roof to strike at Fei.

Lightning Bolt (DC36 Reflex Half): 24d8 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 2, 1, 7, 5, 3, 6, 6, 5, 1, 8, 7, 4, 3, 8, 4, 3, 7, 6, 5, 7, 6) = 116

Storm Breath lasts... 1d6 ⇒ 5 rounds.

In addition to the static energy suddenly pervading the room, Fei's sensors begin to pickup trace amount of silica appearing in the room... sand is beginning to inexplicably creep into the lab.

Vai has moved to put some cover between her and Fei for the moment.

Coming right up. Perception Check: 1d20+34

Excellent.

Spellcraft Result:

Fei just barely caught a quick motion and a subvocalized incantation as the other Vai cast a spell. The spell was Quickened Mislead. Fei also knows that quickening such a powerful spell is beyond most mortals, even the naturally magically inclined Dragons. 10th level spell slot.

Perception Results:

Given that the Vai he is facing is likely an illusion, and that the other is once again invisible, Fei quickly taps into the lab's advanced sensor suite - a piece of precision equipment used for many different experiments. Fei is able to use the sensor suite to find localized disruptions in air currents which tells him that his real opponent has moved opposite to the illusory double, putting distance between herself and him, obviously intending to strike from the safety of range.

Fei has not yet taken an action. Darth Vai has total concealment, though Fei can pinpoint her square without having to roll against her Stealth thanks to the sensors available to him.

Bluff Roll: 1d20+20

Excellent - Vai thinks that was a very nice shot indeed :)

Fei's body jerks back from the blow, his head and torso gyrating almost 90 degrees as the left side of his chest takes the hit from the powerful rifle. He only returns halfway to his original position, the right side of his body the only portion visible to her now. His stance appears a bit less menacing than before - testimony to the effectiveness of a well-placed chest shot.

What a very, very odd thing to say to him. Alright then....

Fei is unsure on how to interpret that comment, but knows this will devolve quickly into violence if he does not do something to force her to leave. Tapping once again into his control over the facility systems he tries to buy enough time to make that happen.

He...

Not that odd. All she knows is a Champion killed the other Vai, and lo and behold, a Champion shows up here and starts messing with the reactor.

"I rather like it here, thank you." she quips back, her voice full of vitriol, though Fei can catch a slightly victorious flare of her wings at the effect her shot seemed to have on him.

Her ear twitches slightly as oxygen begins to be pumped out of the room. It must be a Soulmech, somehow neurally linked into the facilities control schema. There's no way she could compete on the electronic warfare front with a machine, but if the shot from the rifle was anything to go by, this Champion shouldn't last long under a sustained assault. "You'll have to do better than that, Courage" she sneered again, her voice dripping with acid. She then crouched, and took to the air staying out of Fei's reach while avoiding the sometimes-cramped spaces within the lab.

Does Fei have Spellcraft or any other way to tell when a spell has been cast?

Also, on a completely unrelated note, can I get a perception check please?

All she could immediately tell was that it was humanoid and probably male, as it was covered from head to toe in some kind of suit or skein and helmet. In each hand was a frankly ridiculous amount of weapons and other gear (all in a similar condition to what she found when she arrived). Far more than should be comfortably be carried by a normal humanoid, to be sure.

And she was not entirely sure this thing was even a living thing. Right after it appeared it turned its head in her direction and released its haul of goods in one seamless, fluid motion that defied her understanding of most of the lesser races. It then just...stopped. And not turning, but became utterly still. No sway of motion, no twitch of the hands - not even the telltale rise and fall of the chest to indicate breathing. Combined with the utter lack of any sound from the figure (other than when it dropped the equipment), the effect is more than a bit unsettling.

Vai: ** spoiler omitted **

Only machines move this precisely, this efficiently, this...succinctly. If that is the case, though, that means that it will fall prey easily enough to her prodigious powers of lightning...

There's just a tiny moment of hesitation from the elder Vai before her finger squeeze the trigger. The unmistakable bang of a slugthrower propelling it's round.

Sniper Rifle: 1d20 + 54 ⇒ (12) + 54 = 66
Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 + Sneak Attack (not sure if applicable): 10d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 4, 5, 6, 3, 4, 5, 3) = 44

Her invisibility spell disrupted by the hostile action, the Champion of Light appears in all her glory. Shining as a beacon of all that is Good. There's a tiny, brief second where Fei might've mistook this woman for his love. It's the same face, the same blue wings, the same wavy blonde hair. Even the same sense of determined courage. Sure, the face is lined with age and the hair is streaked through with platinum, but it's the eyes that really drive home to Fei that this is not his Vai. There's no laughter or joy in these eyes, no life. And her face is twisted into an unhappy sneer that would never look right on his Vai.

"Hello, Courage. Dealt with one Champion of Light and here for the other, are you?" she sneers, even as claws form at her fingertips. "You'll find me not as easy prey as that simpleton."

She's already taken her action though, so I'll let you go. XD

Piled throughout the large room are weapons, helmets, communication gear, pieces of humanoid body armor...much of it showing signs of distress. Perhaps the Red had some weapons R&D program running on the side in here...

The elder Vai smirks in triumph at her own cleverness. WHile not all of these would be useful, she could salvage parts from various pieces, and rebuild them to even better effect. Immediately she begins to sift through the piled supplies, looking for choice parts to reprurpose.

Early into her salvage opertaion, a frown creases her face. This equipment wasn't that which had fallen into disuse. This was equipment that was damage in combat. Recently. Very recently.

Sabotage. The facility had been sabotage, and the perpatrator was stowing equipment here for some purpose. Which meant they might come back.

Acting quickly, Vai grabs one of the few weapons in the pile which could be of use to her: a sniper slugthrowing rifle in good condition. A quick casting of an invisibility spell, and took a defensible position. She was honestly expecting a small , elite strike team, for the kind of masterwork job this had been thus far.

The Research level, however, has not been totally compromised yet. The laboratory her crimson compatriot mentioned is there, and currently clear of radiation. Though not for much longer, according to the system's projections...

A cruel smile twists across Vai's face, thanking her luck that the one place she needed was still usable for the next minute or two.

With a last, wicked glance aimed at the panicking slaves in the main hall, the elder Vai chuckles at their fate, and vanishes into the Research wing of the facility, eager to see what spoils await her.

The great wyrm glanced disdainfully at the space where the red had just been occupying and sighed. Well, it wouldn't hurt if she shifted now, all these eyes were going to die anyway.

The elder Vai quickly shifts from her massive form into her winged humanoid form. "There's always time for salvage." she mutters to herself, before teleporting to a computer terminal, looking for the labs the Red mentioned.

I'm not entirely sure of its status. My last researchers....well, let's just say we had had philosophical differences. I'm sure we can find some suitable slaves to replace them so that you can have all the assistance you might require."

The group was insolent so I had them liquidated. ;P

Vai swished her tail, taking a bite out of the massive platter of food that had been set out for her. She chewed and swallowed while she thought. "I should think any slaves would simply get in the way. Unless I have need for live subjects for some reason, though I doubt that." Hope didn't need to know that she was used to working alone anyway. There was never anybody she could trust after all. The Red would see that as weakness, though, and Vai knew that well.

"I shall take stock of the lab after we've eaten." she replies conversationally. "Tell me, what punishment have you planned for your incompetent staff?" to Fei's ears, he catches the slight bloodthirstiness in Vai's voice, something that sounds so very odd to his ears. His Vai... she might lose her temper sometimes, but this was different. This was malicious, almost gleeful at the prospect of hurting others. It sounds very wrong for Vai's voice.

So if we let a few of them get away, trace their flight path, send scouts into that area. We may not be able to find the planet directly, but we can narrow down the area at least. And then it's only a matter of time and intelligent planning. You have to be methodical about these things, Vai," she said, rolling her eyes a bit at the perceived density of the older dragon.

"Hmm. This herd animal is overcooked. Bring the chef here. And get the child from storage," she ordered the guards. "I warned him she would be punished I of he failed me again."

This Red was so insolent, if she wasn't so useful to Vai she would've killed her just now for that. Still, the blue was used to politics and she knew when to hold her tongue, and how to hide her annoyance. Of course they had a connection to the Resistance. Vai didn't bother to explain about what she knew of the history of Agartha to the Red. She was probably too dense to understand anyway.

"And since you suggested it, I trust you have forces at your disposal that will be able to carry out this plan without alerting our prey." It wasn't a question, and the Red's plans were strangely similar to the plot Vai and the being named Kara had hatched before Hope had chosen her new champion and given Vai a wealth of new options. "Yes, I see. Well, it seems that we have nothing to lose by trusting this demon for now. Unless, of course, you have some way of finding directions to this mysterious planet where our colleagues are supposed to be hiding," she said a tad too pleasantly.

Vai had to hold in a snort of derision.

"If I could share the location, I already would have. There is powerful magic protecting that planet, and while I have some protections against it, even I cannot overcome magic that powerful." She replies offhand, stretching languidly in the massive room.

"I think it's likely she already has. From what I've seen of her - she calls herself Kara - she is a Demon Lord of no small power. I agree we ought to be cautious in our dealings with her, but if our goals align for a time, we can use her as she uses us." There a small pause here as the Blue considers her next few words carefully.

There are many Champions at that damnable school, all of them being pressured in some way or another by their Patrons. She snorts through her draconic muzzle before speaking, displeasure obvious in her voice. Speaking to the Champion of Hope: "Well, it seems one of our fellow Champions has taken it upon themselves to remove our spy. Lumos is annoyed, though we may still be able to work this to our favour."

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

And Dark Vai is only under an alias cause I had this extra one sitting around from before Vai changed her name. She's an NPC.

Though, really, titles like PC, NPC, GMPC, etc... shouldn't really matter. In character is in character - our characters have no way of distinguishing between them, except that the PC's actions tend to stand out more... at least, until NPCs start blowing up the school.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

She's not stupid enough to use Wish in that way. Not knowing the results of something isn't exactly good. Given the nature of the spell... it could erase herself from existence (since it might affect her own timeline, even back in the past).

Yrrin Lightbringer wrote:

As the door to the room is destroyed, Yrrin reappears a little to the side, and taking what Justice said to him to heart he walks into the room, an unarmored man striding confidantly into the room with Dragons facing the Champions...

taking a deep breath, Yrrin says loudly and confidantly "You may have destroyed this school once, but while I live you shall not be allowed to do so again, this is a place of learning, there are innocent people here."

Yrrin's aura flares

"I will protect those that cannot protect themselves! Therefore you are my enemy and I will defeat you."

Hermes doesn't know they're illusions, yet. Good call to not metagame there Tybs. :)

Vai's draconic eyes narrow in rage at the new Champion Aura present on the field. She calls down a bolt of lightning to strike the Paladin.

Free-action Bolt of Lightning (DC40 Reflex for half): 24d8 ⇒ (2, 3, 7, 8, 8, 8, 8, 3, 6, 5, 4, 3, 3, 7, 1, 4, 2, 5, 8, 3, 6, 2, 2, 4) = 112

"JUSTICE?!" the Great Wyrm bellows in a voice which shakes the school to it's very foundations. "WHERE WAS JUSTICE DURING ALL MY YEARS OF TORTURE?! WHERE WAS JUSTICE WHEN THIS SCHOOL ABANDONNED ME TO AEGYTHRAX'S CLUTCHES?!"

"I'll show you Justice. Justice is this: getting revenge on those who left me to rot in His keeping."

The illusory dragon unleashes his breath weapon at Yrrin as well.

Another DC40 Reflex Save for half: 24d8 ⇒ (7, 2, 6, 7, 5, 5, 3, 7, 7, 7, 5, 2, 7, 2, 3, 2, 3, 5, 3, 5, 3, 1, 5, 6) = 108

She glances around the room at the gathering Champions. She knew she couldn't win this fight - even gnats could bring down a powerful being such as She, if there were so many of them.

"You haven't seen the last of me." The Champion of Light, The Great Wyrm, retreats in a burst of light - the illusory double disappearing at the same time.

Attempts to scry her will show that she has retreated to a place off-planet.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Having prepared for this eventuality, the Great Wyrm wills into being an illusion of herself, so that there are now 3 blue dragons in the room. The illusion brings forth the Storm Breath of the blue dragons. The Great Wyrm calls down a Lightning Bolt on Keme, who is between her and her prey.

Free-action Lightning Bolt (Reflex Save DC 40): 24d8 ⇒ (1, 5, 8, 6, 6, 8, 3, 5, 4, 3, 1, 6, 4, 1, 5, 3, 4, 2, 4, 4, 2, 3, 5, 3) = 96

Everyone in the room also takes 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9 electricity damage from the static aura around the Great Wyrm.

Swift action to cast Quickened Electric Shield (It's Fire Shield, but deals electric damage)

"I've destroyed this school once, and I'll do it again!!" Roars the 'dark'-Vai, and more spell effects come into play.

Standard action to cast Iron Body, effectively making her immune to sneak attacks and ability damage. CL of any of these spells is 30.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Ephebe and Keme arrives in the room to see the broken remnants of Aananda's lab - anything that wasn't useful to this alternate Vai that she could destroy, she had. Of course what Ephebe and Keme should notice before any of this devastation - the colossal Blue Dragon standing in the center of the lab. Another console is smashed by her massive tail. This is no Juvenile dragon - this is a Great Wyrm in front of them.

"Don't you realize how futile your struggle is? I've already destroyed one Avalon. How do you plan on keeping me pinned down long enough to actually kill me? Do you even have a plan?"

"Mezzenbone is still alive in this timeline, if I'm not mistaken. Your idiot brother failed, didn't he?" The Blue jeers at Ephebe. "I wonder how he would take to the knowledge that the Amethyst are still alive and fermenting rebellion?"

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Shoulder-length platinum blonde hair tumbles out of the helmet around Ephebe's enemy's head. It's... Vai. Ephebe's sister (at least, in this timeline). Only older. So much older. Her face isn't smiling happily. It's twisted with long years of nursing hate and anger and fear. Those same blue eyes usually so full of life and hope... are cold and dead. They glare with hatred and pain and loss. "You aren't the only one who can flex their Championship, Time." she snarls, nabbing the helmet from the floor and vanishing in a burst of Light.

Well... that would explain why the security system didn't register her as an intruder when she first entered the school anyway.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Alot of Vai's rebuild has focused on sneak attacks/precise strike. Not sure if the IE will be affected by this, so I'll keep that damage seperate. Also, bah, ran out of time. Gotta go to class.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Concerning doing terrible things to your characters, you should hear one of my first-draft plans for Vai after she was kidnapped... yeah. It was a little outside of the scope of the board. And very, very evil.

Sadie Jhiwoon wrote:

Sadie sighed. Well, it wasn't like she could humiliate herself any worse. Might as well get it over with.

"Because I like you. I mean like, like like. You're pretty and graceful and sweet and that curtsy you always do is so adorable...and now you probably think I'm some weird creepy stalker person. Just please don't pity me. The last girl I liked is only still friends with me because she feels sorry for me and she won't ever hang out with just the two of us any more and I don't think I can take any more pity. If...if you want me to just leave you alone you can just say so," she finished miserably.

Vai instantly turns scarlet. She likes me? Completely taken aback, Vai stammers for a second, then stops to collect herself. No one had EVER told her that they liked her. She definitely wasn't expecting it from a girl. She tries to start again, speaking slowly and calmly, but her face is still full of colour. "I'm flattered," she begins, "but I don't even know your name. And... to be perfectly honest... there are some things is my past... I might never be able to have..." Vai looked away, even more embarrassed.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Confusion and a little suspicion blanket Vai's mind, and she gives voice to those feelings, saying incredulously, "Why would you want to talk to me?"

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai looks quizzically at the girl in front of her. She talks fast. Seeing the children, she glares at them, adopting a motherly tone. "You three, what would your father say if he saw the gym like this? I hope you know how to clean it up, and quickly. Before someone else gets hurt." Vai shakes slightly at being so forward in front of a stranger, but the kids needed scolding. "Come on," she says more quietly to Sadie while putting an arm around her. "Let's get you to the infirmary." With a quick spell, the pair (Fei too if he want) arrive in the infirmary, and Vai helps Sadie to a bed to sit down. "Are you alright?"

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai watches with awe as Fei acrobatically managed to avoid the crash, stop his momentum and then heals Sadie, all while keeping a cool and calm demeanor. It was pretty impressive. But now she knew how she could help. Keeping perfectly still so as not to fall again, Vai concentrated and cast her teleportation spell to move right in front of the pair, keeping her balance well.

Balance: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Despite her offer, Vai still speaks shyly, especially in the presence of someone she hasn't met before. "I... I can teleport her to the infirmary. It would be much easier than walking with that ankle." Vai also looks around for the children.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Pain shot up Vai's back, and her tailbone was sore, but she didn't feel like anything was badly hurt. That girl on the other hand... she said her ankle was broken. As Fei skates by Vai shouts: "I'm okay!" She carefully stands as she watches the crash. Her magic had to of some use here...

Fieri looked confused for a minute and then laughed. "I'm such a dope. I'm sorry, Vai. I was so busy convincing you to come along that I didn't give you the details. No, we're going shopping in the morning. The shops in the village are not open very late so there wouldn't be any point in going now. We'll meet up after breakfast and then head out."

Vai looks a bit embarrased at the news. "Oh I see..." she looks wistfully back at the cat, but doesn't want to make herself even more awkward by going back. Maybe she should just head to her room and do some studying. It had been a while since she'd seen Nasima in the room. "I might head up to do some studying then Fi. See you tomorrow after breakfast!"

As Vai begins to return to her room, she passes by the auditorium, and notices it covered in ice and bubbles, with Gwenne, Tal, and Matthias obviously being scolded by someone. Silly kids, maybe she should go rescue them.

Vai takes a slow step onto the ice, unsure of her footing, then another step. Her momentum makes her drift forward slowly, but she can't get any grip on the ice and when she tries to push off, her foot slips out from under her. She pratfalls, landing hard on her butt with a sharp squeak of pain.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Dennis is just a no-name?

"Oh! Er... I don't think I want to know where they went." Vai blushes slightly, and takes the open seat next to Fi, listening to the conversation for a while before saying, "If Ephebe's not coming shouldn't we head out?" Vai asks, a little hesitantly, not wanting to pull Fi away from her conversation.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

We can say that Vai was confused too.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

We can retcon when Jen manages to post again, but I think we should move on with the shopping trip!

Vai curtsies to Kitty and Michael (though the latter is barely noticable). "Thank you for your kindness Kitty, but I did promise my sister that I would go shopping with her tonight. I hope we can be friends." Vai returns to Fieri, "Hey, where did Ephebe go?"

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Talking Cat cute reflex overrides the oh-he-must-be-someone-special reflex. I believe we're still waiting on a response from Jen right?

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai's mouth hangs open slightly when the cat begins speaking. She realizes that this shouldn't be that unsual considering the school she attended. Vai squats down, to appear a less imposing figure, "I'm sorry, I should've kept him under control. He's sorry too." Vai says, and Nimceleb does indeed appear to be sorry, his head hung low, avoiding eye contact with Jen.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai picked up the unharmed Nimceleb, tell it sternly to sit on her shoulder. Nimceleb pouts, but obeys and sits perched on Vai's shoulder. Vai turns to Kitty. "It's not hurt is it? Why is there a cat wandering around?"

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Are they talking about me?!

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

At Kitty's words, Nimceleb springs up and after Saffire, the pair playing a very interesting game of aerial chase, first with Nimceleb chasing, then Saffire. The game ranges all over. Unfortunately, it is at that moment that Jen enters the room and makes for the table of food. The pair, which had been darting in between legs and chairs were not expecting the low form of a cat, and Nimceleb can't turn out of the way fast enough, colliding with Jen at full tilt, sending them both into a roll, which ends with Jen on top.

Vai gasps as the situation unfolds and quickly runs over to check to make sure that both the cat and Nimceleb are okay. Vai approaches the feline slowly, making calming and soothing noises to try and placate the no-doubt traumatized cat. Vai's efforts are clearly that of a novice.

Handle Animal Check on Jen (untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

"I don't think eating metal has anything to do with breathing lightning," Vai said knowingly, hiding a smile. "Maybe he likes the taste?" Nimceleb had taken the shuriken excitedly from Kitty, but upon biting on it once, he decided he didn't like the thing and dropped it so it clattered on the floor, startling Vai slightly.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

"Please to meet you as well, Michael." Vai curtsies politely at Michael's introduction, a little worried at Kitty's warning. Michael was cute, to be sure, but Vai tried to keep her tone strictly polite when talking to him. She wanted Kitty to see that she meant no harm.

In the meantime, Nimceleb was looking from Saffire to Vai, as if he wanted a chewtoy too. "Better listen to Kitty Saffire. I was taught that people start judging you right when you first meet, and if you want to impress them you have to use your manners."

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

"His name is Nimceleb." Vai was extremely relieved that Kitty had laughed, she had almost broken out in laughter at the same time. She held out her arm to Saffire and Nimceleb trotted down, using his wings to stabilize himself. "He's made of mithril, so I don't think we need to be worried about bites. Thank you for understanding Kitty. I'm Vai, since we haven't technically been introduced."

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

"Kinda?" Vai says. It seems like she was reaching the girl, "I think he used a spell that make a copy of me..."

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai felt her nervousness melt away. At least Kitty wasn't yelling. That meant she could be more confident. She looked the girl in the eyes, a serious expression clear. "It's sorta complicated, but it was someone I knew before coming to Avalon... they didn't like that I came here, so he tried to take me away so that no one would notice. I'm sorry for any trouble it caused you." Vai finished with a respectful bow, as she had seen Fei do for Aananda. For some reason, Vai felt his presence.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

"Um. This is going to sound a bit stupid." Vai fidgets, her nervousness apparent to Kitty, but Kitty can sense the sincerity behind what Vai is saying. "I'm told I got into an arguement with you this past week... the thing is... that wasn't me. It's a really long story, and I know you probably don't believe me... I just don't want you to hate me." Vai looks a little ashamed, still refusing to make eye contact, and the little silver dragon nuzzles her cheek worriedly.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai slowly gets up, which illicits a small yelp from Nimceleb who had almost reached the piece of bacon. "Thank you Ephebe, but I think I need to try on my own. If she won't even listen to me, maybe you can help then." Can't stand the thought of someone hating me for something he did. As Vai made her way across the cafeteria though, the defiance and certainty she had felt slowly melted away, replaced by nervous tension. She didn't like it when someone was angry with her.

"E-excuse me... Kitty... Can I talk to you for a minute?" Vai said, nervously not making eye contact. Her hair is pulled forward, but only a small part of her face is covered. The silver construct on her shoulder was looking inquisitively at Saffire.

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

"At least that explains the dirty look she gave me when I came in. Maybe I should go talk to her... but I can't imagine how I would explain it in a way that didn't seem silly." As Vai talks, Nimceleb is reaching for another piece of bacon, but doesn't want to leave his perch on her shoulder.
