I was under the impression that they were part of the school wards.
Even if it is part of the school, the Old Girl has more important things to divert magic power to, ne? ;)
Tybalt Baneko
Ace, I think with the wards being down and the school's magic being drawn elsewhere, we worked out several reasons for the arrows to not work. Also, people have been saying how transit is taking longer. Presumably because the arrows can't take them there the short way.
I assume you don't really need them all too much, though. ;)

I think that one small line of text can be overlooked. Especially since it can be considered that he knows the specific emotion well enough to get himself there. Being able to sense where something is would be enough (in my opinion) to qualify as a way of "seeing it."
Not really a big deal. Especially sense he's done it before.
Dom Waverider
Nah man you were pretty much using it fine before. Since I'm sure that Setro has the school well known and when he feels strong emotion it's like an easy way of going oh there.
Just with Hew currently he's not throwing off any strong emotions.

I suppose, that works. Thank's for a way of explaining that. I hate handwaving things that are actually significant to the plot.
(Up insignificant things are those times i forgot to mention his shackles when discribing his appearance, for example. It has very little effect on story.)
Dom Waverider
Besides your Rivairta char has this pretty much handled. Settro just needs to help Midori. She seems to need some one there with her till Rivairta brings them to the cafeteria. A shoulder to cry on and all that.
Settro
You are asking settro to do the one thing he doesn't know how to.
Dom Waverider
lol It's a good learning experience as a character. Look at Dom he's not used to not trying to pick up the flirty babe. That was hard for me to rp correctly I thought.
Sup Nasima I'm from after your time, but I'm sure it's fine.
Tybalt Baneko
Hi. Welcome back. I've heard about you. :)
Out of curiosity, do you mind telling me how many new posts there were for you? We post so quick, it'd be interesting to know since you've been out for a while. ^_^
Dom Waverider
yah just talking with a friend for a sec.
Nasima Shearskye
Howdy y'all! Yeah, I was here at the beginning of this thread, then gone for a bit, then came back, then was gone again, and now I'm back again. I try to do non-invasive or at least atomic stories that can be ignored or wrapped up quickly so as not to hassle Lyn. Well, or anyone. It's fun to hang out in the super-powered-mega-OP thread for a while, plus I have tremendous respect for Lyn (and DB3) as game-runners and for all the players here, but I can't keep up with the high post-rate for very long, so I just do chunks of story at a time. tl:dr; if I bug ya, don't sweat it. I'll be gone afore you know it. :-p
@Tybalt: Hast thou slain stout Mercutio? I dunno what the post count was. Didn't look, and don't remember where it was when I last left. Sorry. Also, one of the folks on this thread plays in one of my regular long-running campaigns IRL, so he's sorta been keeping me apprised of the goings-on. Sorta. So it feels like less-long of a break than it probably actually was.
Tybalt Baneko
I did actually name Tybs that with him in mind. It was a good DND sounding name that would work well for a kitty. XD
It's all good. Was just wondering if you'd happened to remember. ^_^
Hopefully we get to keep you for a bit now. I'm sure Lyn will be excited to see you. :)

DRA:
Currently, an alternate timeline evil future version of Vai has pretty much wrecked the school - things are getting back to normal, albeit slowly.
Time-wise, it has been about 4 months since Nasima and Percy left, IRL.
We've been playing that the Sifu has been here this whole time, just FYI. She definitely has a few new meditation students (Vai and Ori, in particular).
Hmmm...
What else?
Oh right... Vai has a new roomie, since we weren't sure of the Nasima situation. Oh... and there was that one plot we were discussing before your hiatus... should I PM you to remind you of it?
Tybalt Baneko
Wouldn't Dark Vai have enough time to go and become a high enough level sorcerer to cast ninth level and just Wish the planet away?
Tybalt Baneko
I guess so. How exactly does Wish work in this setting? I know it's much more potent than normal.

How does Limited wish with no components at all work, mearly imposing your desire on the universe?
"Ace"
I'll be away most of tomorrow, hitting the Ren Faire in Tuxedo, NY with a group of my friends.
FCD/DB3, if either of you are around, and want to bot Ace for this next scene, I'd appreciate it, so I'm not fully stuck until I return. He's going to find Ryo, using Pyschoport to reach him asap, and fill him in on his findings.
Oh, and if possible, cast Mending/Make Whole on the telescope and whatever else is damaged. Not sure if they'll work, but just in case they do.

Depends on the 'source' of the magical power-- Divine (Channeled), Arcane (Manipulation of Reality w/ Energy/Rules), as far as I'm concerned.
One's a Miracle (God does it) or the other is 'You convert energy into a series of rules / invocations that bring about change'.
Lots of options to be creative.

See, i have an ability called "by will alone"
Once a day, i can cast any spell with no components whatsoever.
It's part of being a godling. However, it is considered arcane casting.
Settro
By Will Alone (Su): Once per day, the godling can cast a spell without fulfilling any of its components. The spell requires no somatic, verbal, or material components. Even spells with expensive foci or material components can be cast without such materials by using this ability. The godling may select this ascendancy more than once. Each time it is selected, the godling may cast a spell with no components one additional time per day. Source: Genius Guide to the Mystic Godling

Awesome.
All that means is you cast your spell without the conditions required to cast it -- so the question is, where do your spells come from? Divine or Arcane?
It certainly wouldn't mean /any/ spell-- I doubt. Just the ones from your Class Spell Lists.
That'd just be ridiculously stupid and everyone would take it. :)
Settro
I have to know the spell- i just cast it for free.
I cast as an arcane caster, because i chose that for my casting list. Still, unlike a normal arcane caster, i have no spell failure chance whatsoever, so long as i. Proficient in whatever I'm wearing.
But, what I'm trying to say, how can the spell take your words literally, when you say nothing at all?
You can perfectly express exactly what you want it to do, because all you have to do is think.
(But abyss forbid you get distracted...)
Settro
Basically, settro's ability is somewhat of a cross between Devine and arcane.
(Btw, all the godlings are stupid powerful, save clever godling.)
Dom Waverider
Lots happening. I need to edit to account for the earth bending myself. :) After that I'll be offline a while.
Dom Waverider
Ok added his reaction.

I know I may have asked this before but ...
Assuming the school isn't mass producing it's own 'equipment' (for, say, the infirmary and such) -- where do they 'shop' for specific specialized equipment?
Is that on planet, or shipped in via the Resistance folks/else how?
Guess it pertains to the 'tech' of the world-- which is what I have asked about prior.
Anyhow. Two bits, dinner time soon. :)
Most of it is done by nanite manufacturing. Doesn't work well for large scale construction, but for little bits of special equipment here and there it works great. And for bigger pieces for the school Aananda just makes the components and puts it together herself.
Skimmers and shuttles are what the factories are primarily producing, though there are smaller facilities in the works to make things like data pads that could have widespread use but are currently only really seen inside the school.
