2 people marked this as a favorite.

I don't understand the necessity of the changes really. I haven't played any Starfinder but just looking through the book the Solarian has a solid kit - it's flavorful and fun, almost like a space palladin.

It's clearly powerful, but it has the unique design that always it to flow with the ebb and tide of a dramatic battle. As the battle rages around you the Solarian warms up and as all hope seems lost they unleash power to turn the tide completely.

It's objectively fun to play a character that needs to "power up" to the point that its almost a worn out trope, but one of very few classes that exist in "-finder" gameplay. A decent example that's similar is the Kinetisist who can either accept burn or gather their power. Another is the Slayer who can become better as they study their target. In fact, to be honest, there's a host of classes that have to spend a turn or two setting up their better abilities and buffs. The only ones who don't are pure martials.

This feels like you're trying to take a class that's already got a decent flavor and powerlevel and trying to turn it into a combat savant. The point of these types of games is to be playing with a party who helps to make up your deficiencies, not to solo the encounter.

Also you added no utility to the class. It's combat or nothing, which is more boring that waiting a couple turns to blast the bad dudes because now I can't help other than murdering people.

There's still some work to be done but I've fleshed out more of the character and I've at least made 1 Dominion Technique...

Santa Muerte (Alter)

I didn't write anything down for a backstory in the sheet, but I view her as a corrupted version of Santa Muerte summoned with Madness Enhancement by a low tier warlord in dotV trying to edge out his competition and gain favor.

Very interested. I don't know Anima very well, but I've perused the books once or twice.

I'm thinking of a servant based on Santa Muerte.

Would there be a mix of in and out of mech action, or is this more in line with actual 40k where if Knights have been called in it's not likely a scenario where you'll be leaving the mech.

Playing as glorious space knights is always excellent. I'd like to (even if using normal knight titans) see the ability to upgrade and/or customize our mechs. Depending on how much you are looking to change the knights I'd prefer completely custom (or some common base that we all build off of if we are trying to keep the Imperium motif together.)

Copying my submission here as well.
Lathander is the "Pelor" of Forgotten Realms, but I wouldn't mind you sticking with Pelor - I'm not exactly super strict on setting canon or anything.

I'm happy with that. To be honest Pelor is just the name I'm most familiar with not any real sticking point for me - but Lathander the Morning Lord looks more "right" for my glorious light.

Also, general question as I'm not particularly familiar with 5th edition. Is the "Healer" feat worth it? It seems pretty good as just a nice way to heal that doesn't require spells or rests and a dedicated doctor flavor is kinda nice - but would something more like the Shield Mastery one [not looking at my books sorry] be more helpful in general?

Sorry to see you go! Good luck!

Dotting late to the party, but here.

Sorry all, RL and work got in the way. I just wanted to post an apology to you all for holding up the game, and to say that I would like to officially be removed from the list for the time being as I'm not sure when my work will stop being in the way.

I apologize again to you all.

Cheers,

Sach

X
Living in Lockhaven has allowed [Namless] to always have what he needs, so saving has rarley entered his young mind.

XI
When confrontation happens [Nameless] is always quick to challenge them.

XII
Having never come across such creatures [Nameless] fears them greatly for their feats of savagry and power.

XIII
Do Guardmice only get 1 choice as well, but full options?
[Nameless] always had an interest in the arms and armory of the guard, spending long hours looking at and imagining himself in charge of such items. He's quite Armor-wise in many aspects.

XV
[Nameless] is quite Nimble.

Sorry. I haven't decided on a name for my mouse but I think his story is coming along nicely.

III.
Lockhaven
Skill: Armorer
Trait: Guard's Honor

Name Unknown has grown up close to the home of the Guardmice and has idolized them for as long as he can remember. Now that he is a fully fledged Guardmouse he does what he can to bring honor to the name.

IV.
Hunter

He always spent long hours of his youth away in the forest, sneaking and stalking, hiding, and playing with his fellow mice. Now that he is much older it's occured that Hunting has always come with ease for him.

V
Archivist

His parents were Archivists by trade.

VI
Orator

With his brash attitude the subtelty of manipulation and the careful give and take of persuasion are far from his mind as he takes to sweeping emotional speeches for all to hear.

VII
Healer

Although he had originally bemoaned his post of healer, Clement showed a new world of charitability and compassion that comes with the post - something that was long missing from his tutalage to this point. The teachings helped to temper his harsh nature towards other mice, so although he was still quick to act and bold in his decisivness it was rarer for him to act harshly or turn away those in need.

VIII
Fighter

For a long while after his term learning the art of Healing he could no longer stomach the thought of the combative arts. Horace drew that out of him soon enough. He learned combat as well as compassion had there places and balancing was a important and difficult act.

VIV
Scout

As a full Guardmouse, with his years of tutalage behind him, Scouting seemed to fit in perfectly. He was a capabable mouse alone or teamed with a group. It was a joy to be entrusted with such responsablity, and only drove his ambitions within the guard even higher.

I.

I'm thinking that I want to play a relatively new Guardmouse. He's just earned his cloak and these missions would be some of his first official missions away from his training and mentor. He'd be a little brash and is still settling into his new role as a full member of the Mouseguard but has been well tempered by his mentor and has lofty ambitions. I'm not certain what his "specialty" would really be...but that can be developed.

II.
Guardmouse
Guardmice are the foot soldiers of the Guard. Baron was a guardmouse.
Abilities: Will 3, Health 5
Skills: Fighter 3, Haggler 2, Scout 2, Pathfinder 3, Survivalist 2
Starting age: 18-25 (Birth years: 1127-1134)

I think I'd prefer my own character. Can't wait!

Exciting! Are we running with the Pregens as well for this first mission?

Yes. That's not a good thing. I don't revere things by actively and knowingly putting them in danger of getting killed in order to save myself.

Throwing cats at spikes is clearly a direct violation of a mandate to "revere nature".

Whoa! I leave for a few days and come back to an explosion on here! I'll admit that I had *obviously incorrectly and shortsightedly* written this off as dead before launch.

I skimmed the thread and will read it a little more intently in a moment, but I wanted to throw out my character concept (barring no one has already gone through with it).

I was looking to do War Hound, Assault Marine, Kill Marine Advanced Specialty. No idea what Dark Heresy stuff to tack on though.

Extremely interested. What 3pp is available? Like PoW and Spheres of Power?

Just a little dot.

Can rotating members not in the current adventure put a dot on gameplay so we can keep track of the game

Dotting for interest

Signing up, late but ready for action!

Assuming this isn't dead, I'd still play.

Sorry I hadn't checked this thread in a long while

I'm extremely interested - I love the comics and I've really wanted to play the RPG should I ever get the chance.

Dotting for interest. I have the 5th edition rules and have wanted to play Shadowrun but have never had the chance. Are newbies cool?

Gameplay up. It's a little longer for a post, but there were some things to set up.

I've played other WH40k stuff by FFG and I assume Rouge Trader has similar mechanics to the rest of them so I'll definitely throw my hat in for interest.

I've skimmed over Savage Worlds once or twice. From what I remember the rules look pretty good

I'd play for sure. Certainly interested in looking at systems that aren't just Post-Apoc Pathfinder.

I'd be down for some sweet fallout pbp action. The world is pretty sweet and there's all sorts of people in the wastes

As I said I'd be pretty new to Shadowrun...so I'd proably shoot for something more or less straight forward...but being a Hacker sort of character seeemed interesting.

A little late but I'd be down for Shadowrun - the only issue would be that I've never actually played. I have the 5th edition rules and have wanted to play just never got around to it.

I'm extremely interested in playing some DH. I haven't played DH 1st or 2nd Edition but I loved the other lines (Deathwatch, Black Crusade, Only War)

Alright, counting... I have about twelve submissions. I'm going to choose about half, give or take one. Anyone want to submit their characters better do it now. Auditions are coming to a close. Should have team ready by end of my day, and story at same time.

Very exciting! The competition has been fierce, so good luck to all and I hope we all get to play together soon - if not this game then the next!

I'm a bit iffy on evil characters in good aligned parties. I've seen one too many campaigns completely derailed when the evil character decides to screw over the party on a whim or, even barring that, when the evil character is noticed to be evil and the rest of the party doesn't want to be associated with this.

On the other hand, I've seen it done right a few times, with Lawful Evil characters whose interest naturally aligned with the party, and who understood that they needed to keep to the party's morals.

I'm of two minds of this. Hm...

I'm feeling similarly to it. If the evil character is will to play nice [or at least play cooperatively] with the party there really isn't any issue with having them in the party - at that point it's mostly the difference between Diplomacy Vs. Intimidate on a larger scale.

I wouldn't mind a counter-point to a mostly good/neutral aligned party.

I'll be good mostly for utility and crafting. If ya'll want something made just say the word and I'll get it to ya.

Sign me up, I'll get some of that sweet gear.

Nicodemus is going to hit some people pretty hard with light party support and debuffs - but those don't come online for a little while.

My bad, I'm still around. It's been hectic at work. I'll give it a look over in the morning (a half dozen hours or so for different time zones).

Yup. Current earth with all the current earth-y things.

Follow-up question; was Golarion online a known game or is this more-or-less out of nowhere?

I'm getting a "this document doesn't exist" page.

Sounds good! Do you have one already?

I'm still around, monitoring. I'll be down with whatever we decide.

Dot. This sounds awesome

I don't really know MM at all but I could get my hands on any necessary material. Does it have a lot of splat books or anything besides core rule book?

Needless to say I am extremely interested

This doesn't sound like the thing for me so I'll have to bow out as well, sorry Wolf.

Good luck!

Interested as well

Dotting becuase I saw this thread open after my first post in the recruitment. Like I said I'm fairly interested in this Dawn system. Mostly because playing a God who creates a world sounds fun...even more so to see the world come to life when we adventure in it!

I'd be interested in seeing where this goes. How exactly does that Dawn of Worlds system work? It sounds interesting to be a player as a God and then be a player as a lowly adventurer

So would be be picking parts of other classes and Frankenstein them together? Like taking Sneak Attack off of a Rouge and Rage off a Barbarian?

I don't think I'd like having to write out my own special abilities and keep them balanced...

Also would we gain more class abilities and skills as we progress?
