These seem a bit at-odds. One line implies that a non-opt-in chat (like a private Company chat) is okay with adult content.

It is indeed. At least we have an idea on which ground we'll be walking and this will enable us to clarify The Vespiary's charter on this matter.

I don't see the rules even a bit at-odds. The first one is about "the general public" perception while the other one is about "the sole discretion of GW". It is an intelligent way of managing this since it would allow GW to exert it's own appraisal of what is "sexually explicit", especially in a lore and RP way. And I would rather have to follow the rule of GW who knows what's good for their game rather than "the general public" when we know that those voicing their concerns and asking censorship in the "general public" are in fact "a very small minority of the general public, most of them not even playing the game".

For settlements, once you start diversifying "looks" you should be able to create houses that "look" like they are trees. I mean a little reskinning and boundaries tweaking might be in order, but the overall system should remain the same, just the appearance, which you will be doing anyone if you decide to diversify in terms of looks.

The problem will be obviously solved once the EE starts, IMO the only thing we could do before the start of the EE is to contact individually those guilds.

And I'm sure, *all* the little guilds with a contact in their landrush profile had many personalized explanation provided by you or CBDunk or other recruiters (maybe even a phone call with Cheatle ;)

So at the end of the day the only real issue is that recruiters don't have an opportunity to explain some guys who did not provide a contact in their landrush presentation how it works. I don't think GW can do anything else, they can't force them to read the explanations on the GW website.

GW could do one thing: disclose the contact email of the guy who registered his guild. And I don't think they will want to do that.

I knew we could trust Golgotha to provide us with some proper green targets ! Goblins are not really interesting, one arrow and they're down. Orcs on the other hand are good for practicing: if you miss vital parts, they continue to run. Plus Golgotha will presumably armor them so we'll have to hit eyes or the neck to claim a one shot ...

That said, congrats for a new racial-themed company !

That said, I just love the idea of our Druids manipulating a Rust Monster escalation cycle to clean-up development encroachments instead of burning them down :)

We Elves have little understanding for the relentless struggle of humans to harness the wilderness instead of flowing with it. But of all the human ways, we appreciate the philosophy of moderation and simplicity of Old Deadeye's followers and hope their way of life will attract as much as possible of their brethren.

Druids of the Viridian Circle will probably visit you, like us elves many have respect for Old Deadeye's teachings. Should wilderness defiling occur not too far away from Blackfeather Keep, my hope is that they may find help among your ranks. The Viridian Circle share your principle of diplomacy before offensive actions, and your example of Erastil's good stewardship could help them get their point made before more radical acts.

Blackwood Glade will then build a Shrine to Gozreh, if we can get it's Air, Animal, Plant and Water domains that's the most close we can get our clerics to an actual Druid.

For the rangers, we take a bit of fighter proficiency for bow, light armor and two handed weapons, then take the stealth skills from the rogue tree. Not optimal but I hope we'll be able to align some ranger like characters that are playable.

That's a good idea. My intention like Aou said was also to do RP a Druid with a Priest and the Ranger with a Rogue build. But the more skills we can have available from these classes the better.
I suppose this should not be difficult given that there's technically no class in PFO.

On a side note, do we have any ideas of the Gods and Domains GW intend to implement from day one ? Cause with the appropriate domains maybe we can build some pseudo rangers/druids

POI is perfectly fine for the surface. It gets the intention across adequately. But those of us that want to get heavy Role-play in would much rather have another term. Armenfrast is asking a very good question that all of the settlements should ask themselves. And some cooperation would be welcome among us to have as much consistency as possible.
When we created Taur-im-Duinath (now Blackwood Glade) I asked myself "why would elves end up in this part of Golarion ?" And this question extent to the companies themselves, not only the settlement.
I think the best example of answer to Armenfrast's question as been given by Thod in this excellent post: Infusing some Golarion Lore and PFS lore into PFO. We should all take some inspiration from him and give our settlement and companies some life by tying them to Golarion's lore.

You spot a conversation in Thornkeep's Inn...
- "Where is Blackwood ? I though this area was the Echo Woods ?"
- "Don't be fooled. Thornkeep is not that deep in the Forest, the Echo Woods are extending dozen of miles North and East from this place. With such a vast forest it's no surprise that we have named each part of it more specifically than 'Echo Woods'."
- "OK, That makes sense, still where is this Blackwood, and why the name ?"
- "Hey do I look like a cartographer or a ranger to you ? Still, bring me another pint and I'll tell you what I know."

Knowledge(Local) DC 12: "Blackwood is somewhat in the middle of Southwood, that's far South from Thornkeep on the other side of the Marshes and West of the Monastery. To go there from Thornkeep, safest route is to take Dagger Road to the South till you see the trail turning right to Brighthaven, then follow through the Keeper's Pass. Although it's known for its rare plants and fancy birds, place is named Blackwood cause it's also cursed and dangerous. Some hunters or gatherers have the balls to go there but some never come back, I heard of intelligent animals avoiding traps and attacking armed men. Only keepers of the Green Faith are crazy enough to stay in the place, recently joined by some elves. Their lot is not more talkative or amiable than feral animals anyway. Wretched place and people I'm telling you !"

Knowledge(Geography) DC 20: The South-Western tip of Echo Woods - named Southwood by the locals - were known to host modicum of highly valuable blackwood trees. It is very likely that the place would be located here and of course named after those trees. To reach Southwood from Fort Inevitable, one would take the Juliver Road in direction of Sezgin, then after a few miles leave it to the East and reach the southernmost limit of the Forest when it is receding to the plains.

Knowledge(Local) DC 25 (Elves +10 or Druids +15): Druids call this place the Blackwood Glade for some of the most ancients blackwood trees of the forest, old enough to have survived the Starfall. It was one of the minor shrines of the faith, used for ceremonies every ten years or so. A few centuries ago a lumber mill started operation nearby, decided to take advantage of the blackwood trees. When the Druids discovered the extent of the depredations committed in a few years, their anger was such that the lumbermill plagued by deaths and accidents stopped operations in less than a year. The druids have since maintained a presence in the area and scared anyone approaching their sanctuary. Recently, some elves came to the place asking to settle and agreed with the druids that as long as they would be there the place would be safe against anyone who would threaten the venerable trees.

Knowledge(History) DC 27 (Elves +10, Language(Elvish) +2): Before the Starfall, the River Kingdoms were just a primeval forest known as Telvurin by the elves and only used as a hunting ground by the elven court. The elves had in this area a hunting lodge named Bâr-Morivatar, which in Taldane could be translated as "the blackwood house".

Lone Wolf was explicitly not interested in joining a company but looking for settlements that would support the training he is looking for. Not really recruiting here...

And that said, if anyone is considering a Druid, why not start right now with a priest and join TVC ? Doing so would allow one claiming seniority and all that before the flood of druids arrive when GW finally release the class/role.

TVC: Doing Druids before it was cool :D

Nothing happen, being member of a settlement and of a company are unrelated. My understanding is that you gain the settlement benefit if your company is sponsored by said settlement, but you do not become a member of the settlement which is a separate and specific action.

I don't yet know where TVC intend to settle, but you should be aware that the best rangers in all of Golarion are trained in Kyonin. Taur-im-Duinath will of course focus on this fine elven tradition and bring it to the Echo Woods. And since fortunately for you we're not bound by our kingdom rules in the South, half-humans will be able to benefit from our training, especially if they are focused on the defense of nature (i.e. barring game constraints we will certainly offer a very low cost for Nature-faction aligned and racially aligned characters not part of the settlement or it's sponsored companies).

You should also note that the aims/goals of Urlord's project is not anymore about ethnical "cleansing" and obviously evil stuff. He probably needs to rework his communication and create a new thread. Nevertheless your comments are welcome. There are lots of really interesting RP and knowledge stuff in Urlord's project, that deserves to be publicized.

Settlement name change should not be easy the more developed a settlement is (of course the barbarian method would decrease the cost). My rationale for this is that settlements should become geographical references, not the kind of stuff you want to change often.

Unless of course we want to ensure that cartography is a hot business around there.

Taur-im-Duinath is Pro RP, but open to non-RPers with very light rules of behavior. Here's an extract from our charter.

I think that's the kind of interesting discussion that should have to be done IG with much drama, sorrow and maybe blood (though remember dueling is for barbarians, Elves like to take their time for feuds among themselves :)

So basically Urlord, your project is a challenging one and will probably not attract a lot of players, but TiD is the place where you are the most likely to be able to do it.

To put back this thread on rails, it came to my mind that GW may have already found an elegant solution to implement the Defense of Nature axis in the game without complicated stuff like we envisioned so far.

The answer is: Factional Conflict !

GW just have to create a Druidic Faction and pit against them a Technology/Industry faction, and here we have meaningfull PvPing easily implementable.

I envision the Druidic faction giving perks to their members allowing them to avoid the requirements of depending on a settlement (to be honest I do not really like the idea of Druids living in highly developed settlements due to game mechanisms) or allowing them allying/interacting with normally hostiles "Nature-Themed" NPCs on the map, thus really being able to wreck havoc against development and enriching the whole content. The Industry/Technology faction on it's side would give its members production bonus or tier-specific stuffs for their supporter's settlement and thus means to counter the treehuggers.

Those are bad players, and the DM unable to reign said bad players is also a bad DM. It's unfortunate you had such a bad experience, but like your RL references there is no reason to conflate it with broader game concepts. What is stupid around a TT game among a few friends who are supposed to play together makes a lot more sense in a sandbox MMO where players are each others' content. I would rather have nature zealots in PFO and incentives for players to act so than people who play a druid WoW-style and don't give a rat to Golarion's Lore. In Golarion, The Druid Serves the Wilderness, and those who bless the peasants crops are the exception rather than the norm. You can play a hippie Druid, and many characters will be so, but most druid should have a rather "savage" attitude towards any encroachment to nature. This savage reaction could or could not lead to active destruction, but Fire is one of the four aspects of the Green Faith.

I see you are a Goblin Squad Member, are you aware you have been granted a free Guide to the River Kingdoms? Inside, you will find an insightful description of The Sevenarches and an example of how much Druids care for the peasants. This is how I expect most Druids to behave in this game and hope you do too.

Most of these guys still have no idea about the concept of Company / Settlement, and probably are completely unaware of the strong impact Company alignment has on their member's core alignment choice. IMO your concern is really pertaining to the Settlements (or "Guild" still potentially eligible to a settlement in the coming weeks). Because only Settlement will matter at the end of the day since belonging / being sponsored by them will be the only way to access to upper tier skills.

What is important is that we keep the feeling of an Elven settlement. As long as we have a strong majority of Elves going around it should be fine, but if we start seeing too much humans, yes such rule (if it exist) could help limiting visiting rights to Elves. So, if you're not belonging to the settlement or a sponsored company and want to visit, be sure to bring an Elf with you :)

I hope that not too far down the road, we would have enough interested players to sponsor an Elven Supremacist company. This kind of characters will very likely be a minority but they add a lot of flavor to the settlement and the game, plus they are a very good trigger for politics and RP within the settlement given that the majority of Elves will very likely be the benevolent kind more-oriented towards NG than CN (the supremacists should also have mithril balls and be good PvPers because they will find no lack of enemies outside ;)

You are very welcome Brad. I have been doing a lot of RP in the past in PnP and expect to do the same online with PFO. Since I wasn't familiar with Golarion Lore till I joined TiD, I'm presently reading "Queen of Thorns" to improve my RP, so any interested partners to put that to use are welcome, moreso if you are familiar with Golarion's Elven Lore ! I'll be RPing mostly with Nolondil as a Mage/Cleric, but will also use an alt rogue/ranger for PvPing.

Companies can exist independently of Settlements and reciprocally. However a Settlement cannot expect to grow without sponsoring companies exploiting PoI linked to it and providing raw materials.

Spot-on ! Very woody and remote as Elves like it, a bit of plain for grain, and lot of friendly neighbors not far away for trade.
