![]() Your party makes your way to a path that is going up the hillside You follow it to get to the hut. A small hut stands here on four legs, each one a single tree trunk whose gnarled roots resemble the toes of a giant chicken. The hut is constructed of heavy logs with a patchwork roof of shaved bark shingles. Inside the hut's open doorway, a small figure sits on a carved wooden chair, staring across the clearing at the trail on the other side. You find yourselves, Mordred, Kishai, Cnut, Garrasay, and Satu, just outside of the hut, looking in. Kishai approaches carefully. I wonder if this figure has anything to do with the spirit we've been seeing Perception and knowledge nature results:
You look closer at the doll and do indeed fine there to be a resemblance to the phantom girl you encountered just moments ago. However, it has been aged, and now looks much like a crone. You note that one of its eyes appears to be a blue gemstone, and the other a mirror, though that means nothing to you. Garrasay grips his flail and inches closer. He peers warily at the small figure sitting at the hut's doorway, expecting more sprites. Grrrrggr. Careful Kishai, there have been no friendly fey since the winter fell across the forest. RrrrRrRrrr. Mordred stays close to Garrasay, preferring others to talk for now. His axe rests safely in his hands. ![]()

![]() Ravengro, dark and foreboding, a bleak landscape governed under the dark pall that hangs over the land of Ustalav. A simple town of simple folk...but what awaits in the darkness of night of a town with so dark a history? The letter reached you with no fanfare, no special delivery or courier – it just arrived, sealed with a wax impression that you knew quite well. The “L” of your friend, Professor Lorrimor showed as a deep impression in the gob of wax that was the same deep red as dried blood. You smiled in spite of the letter’s unexpected nature and broke the seal. It was a long time before you accepted the news…the letter from Kendra Lorrimor, daughter of your friend, delivered ill news that you’d hoped you’d never hear. Your great friend, Professor Petros Lorrimor, is dead. The details are lacking, but Kendra has invited you to attend her father’s funeral in their home town of Ravengro. She also states that you’re included in your late friend’s last will and testament, and that his last wishes were for you to be present at its reading. As you enter the small town of Ravengro, you reflect upon what you know of the Lorrimors’ chosen home. A small town of hardy folk, mostly farmers, Ravengro’s only claim to fame was the now closed and dilapidated prison of Harrowstone, which was once notorious for holding some of the most vile criminals in Ustalav. From your understanding, Ravengro was founded to house workers and provide support for the prison, and became a self-sufficient farming community after its closure. You’ve gathered with a select few of the late Professor’s friends at the entrance to The Restlands – the only graveyard in Ravengro, when the young Kendra Lorrimor appears. Her eyes red and puffy, and dressed in dark, conservative clothes; Kendra is still trim and attractive. She greets you with a mixture of curiosity, sadness, and relief – no one else from outside of the town has come to pay their respects to her father, and only a few from Ravengro itself have come out for the funeral. These few, seemingly villagers and common folk, are somber and hold their heads down in their pain. Thank you for coming. I…my father, he…he wanted you all to be here; you were so dear to him. It means a great to deal to me, and to him… She put a hand to her heart. …that you came. Kendra seems to want to say more, but is overruled by her desire to put her father, and thus this dark day, to rest and peace. If I may, could I ask any of you to bear your friend to his final place of rest? ooc: There’s room around the coffin for 6 pallbearers, but a minimum of 4 would be able to carry it. This will take both hands to carry it evenly. ![]()
![]() If anyone is interested in playing NFL Fantasy Football this year, I have a few spots open in my league - it's a league solely composed of PBP RPers from a couple of PBP sites. If so, please PM me your interest and a valid email address to set up. There will be some sort of prize for top dog and a sufficiently humiliating one for the unfortunate soul who comes in last. ![]()
Male Human Taskmaster and Overlord / 10
![]() The smell assails you first – the scent of unwashed bodies mingles with the powerful bouquet of the sea. It’s nearly overpowering, and provides an inauspicious reception for you. The second sense that hits you is touch – that of your face lying flat on a hard, wooden floor. You can feel the gaps between the planks, and your head is so heavy that it feels as if it could burst right through the floor at any time and you’d be hard-pressed to stop it. As you contemplate the thought of just giving in and lying there until hunger or thirst takes you to the Lady of Graves, you hear heavy, thudding footfalls coming near. The pounding vibrations do little to ameliorate the throbbing of your head, but you are able to lift the dead weight nonetheless, to peer at this newfound intruder into your misery. You’re awarded with the painful glare of a piercing shaft of light from a lantern, and you shield your eyes with a tingling hand. This safeguard allows to you view a motley group of men in various states of dress and countenance. There are half a dozen of them, all wielding saps save one…apparently the leader as he walks in front of the band, who wields a whip. He attempts a grin, but the attempt just makes him look like he’s in severe discomfort, as he cracks the whip and addresses you with a impossibly loud, screeching voice. Still abed with the sun over the yardarm? On your feet, ye filthy swabs! Get up on deck and report for duty before Cap’n Harrigan flays your flesh into sausage skins and has Fishguts fry ye up for breakfast! Looking about the room you’re in, you can see a rather spacious room with pillars supporting the roof above. Hammocks are strung between them, and between some larger, round columns…masts. Each of you is well versed enough to recognize the construction when you see it...and the tell-tale swaying of the floor speaks to its true identity. There are stairs, leading up, past the six ruffians…you figure that you must be in the hold of a ship…and not a small one, by the looks of it. ![]()
![]() So, I created a campaign, but for the last week have only been using the discussion thread as the PC's iron out their characters. Now, when I go to put up the initial post in the Game thread, there's no window or buttons to post. Anyone have this happen before? If so...what did you do to fix it? Thanks in advance! ![]()

![]() I'm certain that this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm a player desperately in need of a game. I'd play anything but Jade Regent or Carrion Crown, as I'm running those campaigns on a different site. I've been playing PBP for 5+ years, and have been playing Pathfinder for 1-2 years. I've a Quinggong monk and a Witch Hunter (both level 1) ready to go, if anyone has need of a reliable poster. Thanks!
