Hoping someone may pity me enough here; I'm GM'ing several games here on the site, but can't seem to get a game to play in. I think that it's because I'm way too slow in character concept and creation...games are often full by the time I have a good idea and sheet made up. If anyone has an AP up and coming - any save for Jade Regent, Skull and Shackles, Carrion Crown, and Strange Aeons (I'm running all of those), or has any openings in ongoing ones, please let me know. I'm very active
True indeed! Know, though, that I never stop playing...even if I'm dead last. If we get the right amount of turnout, I may also make it a keeper league, which would give some the impetus to at least shuffle players about at the end of the year and plan for next season. It's a free league, but I'll be offering a prize for first place and winners of the consolation bracket and losing bracket. It'll probably be gift certificates to the paizo store if I can clear it with them, or an open RPG site, or even Amazon. The winner of the losing bracket will get a "best of the worst" T-shirt.
We'll probably use yahoo, though I can use ESPN as well. The draft will be online, snake type. Scoring is relatively standard, but I typically give DEF double for sacks because...well, sacks are nifty. It is not PPR, though if that's what everyone prefers, we could go that route. Thanks for the interest!
If anyone is interested in playing NFL Fantasy Football this year, I have a few spots open in my league - it's a league solely composed of PBP RPers from a couple of PBP sites. If so, please PM me your interest and a valid email address to set up. There will be some sort of prize for top dog and a sufficiently humiliating one for the unfortunate soul who comes in last.
Okay; the final roster will be: Talant'edhel, Elf Fighter
Thanks to everyone who applied! I hope that I can keep you "on file" in case we have a drop. To all who have been selected; I will start up a discussion thread tomorrow so that we can begin getting cozy.
Agreed...it's a troublesome process. On another site, I had so many good applications that I started two groups at the same time. Holy cow was that a bad idea...hadn't a clue how much more time it would take. I apologize in advance to anyone not taken; they're all excellent apps, but I can only have so many.
I'm thinking that we'll keep this open till the end of the week so that everyone with interest can post an idea. I'll make selections from there and start a discussion thread while we wait to start the game thread. From there, everyone can flesh out or finalize their characters. And, please feel free to link backgrounds like flykiller did; that would help with the opening gameplay.
Merck: I'm okay with either, but with a few caveats. The samurai is more than a bit out of his element in Riddleport, both due to culture and geography. A good background can put him there, but Riddleport is a haven of chaotic tendencies, and a character of lawfulness or honor will be a bit out of sorts. That said, I'm sure you can come up with a reason for him to be there.
As for necromancy - that's okay, but I would be hard pressed to allow a character of any evil...or even CN for that matter...into this AP. These take enough time and dedication to run without having to play off between characters' alignments.
flykiller:
Yes, one - no psionics, please. All others are fair game. Please, no drow blood; the AP actually directly suggests against it. Sure - Liberator would be excellent. All - please - no psionics or drow; all else is fair game unless it's something way out in left field. If you have any specific questions, ask away
This did seem to balloon into an actual recruitment thread instead of a check interest thread, now didn't it? It has now become a bit of a different situation, as I'd be remiss were I to just select characters without giving special consideration to those who started the thread. I'd prefer to take five, though I can scale up the challenges fo allow for six if need be. So, that being said - AdamWarnock - you are, of course in, as this is your thread. For everyone else, please submit your character idea. I will select the best overall mix, but a slight edge will be given to those who first showed interest in this thread (again...the difference with an interest check instead of recruitment.). Please don't worry about crunch; I don't have the time to look at it right now anyway. We'll go until a concept has been submitted for each player who posted so far in this thread, or the end of the weekend, whichever comes first. Then, I'll make selections and set it up so that we can get going in the discussion thread.
Yes, as far as I know, you'd have to buy it. Were I to GM this, I'd send relevant information as part of the character creation guidelines. Probably the best thing about the player's guide is the detailed overview of Riddleport, but that's not a total must have for a PC, only the GM. That said, I'd be willing to GM it, but won't have the time to start it up for about a month. If anyone else is going to take a stab at it, great, but if we can get a small team here who's willing to wait, I'll set up a creation thread to start working on characters. I already have the AP and Player's guide.
Sorry to say it, but I skipped by this due to the amount of new information. Now that I've actually gone through it, I must say well done! I really like the depth and detail. I'd like to possibly submit a Galoman, but have a quick question. Just how "civilized" is the Galoman society? Are they in any way barbaric or primitive? I was thinking a Beastmaster or Totem Warrior, but if a more cultured fighter would work better, I may go that route.
Updated submission background:
Wanting was one thing that Sam'hain did very little of as a boy. Growing up in a Lord's family, he was far removed from the worries of the common man. His meals were bountiful and fine, he was rarely too cold or dirty. No, his life was one of ease, but by design. His father was a pious Lord, dedicated to the teachings of Iomedae. He believed in duty, and in finding closeness to his shining mistress through helping the common man. Thus, faith, duty, and fellowship were instilled in Sam'hain at an early age.
As Sam'hain grew, any around him knew that there was only one life for him - one of service. He was caring nearly to a fault, and wanted to save any whose cause he found to champion. His path took him to the place where he thought that he could do the most good - the military. His first days were life changing indeed, as Sam'hain was put through brutal training with common men, and even thieves and liars as his fellows. How could he trust such people with his life, or with the safety of those that he so desperately sought to protect? It was among the first days out of his initial training when one such rogue, a prostitute's daughter named Liandra Nightwind, pulled Sam'hain from a fire that surely would have left him crippled, if not sent him to Iomedae's sheltering embrace. The Nightwind girl was born from lust and sin, but Sam'hain saw a nobility in her that most couldn't hope to match. After that, Sam'hain found himself with a more open mind and heart, willing to admit that there is good in any man...or woman; it may just be harder to find in some. He now acts as a leader among the Andoran military, providing front line supportand bolstering the lines of defense against any who might harm his land, his charges, his people. His savior, Liandra, was always present in his thoughts, reminding him to take full measure of someone before rushing to judgement. appearance and personality: Sam'hain is a large man, of working muscle, not muscle for show. His skin is well tanned from days spent on horseback with little cover from the sun. His eyes are the cold gray of steel and his hair, cut short, is dark brown. He is clean shaven, showing a hairline scar that runs vertically from the cleft of his chin to his bottom lip. He is handsome, but sometimes stern and implacable.
Sam'hain is very difficult to anger, but can be quick to judge. He is trying to temper his severe nature, but at times slips into an attitude of superiority in faith. He's often naive, and doesn't seem capable of telling a lie.

Yes sir/ma'am: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/races-of-the-dragon-empires And - even if this isn't allowed, I'd still be delighted to go at it with a more basic race. For the background - can we assume that we're from an alternate Golarion, or do we have to be from the original? It would certainly be a fun BG if Tian Xia were long ago taken over by a Tengu race that all of the sudden became so fertile as to overrun their oppressors.
I'm certain that this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm a player desperately in need of a game. I'd play anything but Jade Regent or Carrion Crown, as I'm running those campaigns on a different site. I've been playing PBP for 5+ years, and have been playing Pathfinder for 1-2 years. I've a Quinggong monk and a Witch Hunter (both level 1) ready to go, if anyone has need of a reliable poster. Thanks! |
