Hi Ralphrius; sounds good to me! You could have your own army at the higher levels;)
Give the Player's Guide (linked above) a look-see before you get rolling. Creation guidelines are pretty standard....
- Allowed Materials - I would like to stick with Paizo only if possible, but open to discussion for others
- Level: 1st.
- Hit Points: Max HP for the 1st level, roll or take half for HP for 2nd and above.
- Races: Any core, featured and other races (depending on discussion)
- Classes: Any.
- Starting Wealth: Roll for class, average is the minimum.
- Traits: One campaign trait, and one trait of your choosing.
- Drawbacks: One is allowed, remember to keep track of it and it will be part of the game.
- Alignment: I prefer No evil, unless there's a good excuse for him/her to want to complete the mission in this AP...it would be a bit tough to explain but not impossible.
- 20 point buy

I'll take a look at the player's guide and see what excites me.
How many confirmed you have so far Nayr?
GM RePete
Haven't read the guide yet, but I've got a concept of a build I've played around with before that focuses on improvised weapons....and eventually using smaller creatures as weapons.
Is that something youd be willing to work with or too cheesy?
I'm fine either way. And after riding the guide I may find something else peaks my inspiration.
GM Nayr
Welcome Blaysong! Sounds good. Once you get through the Players guide, make sure you pick an NPC of the four to have ties to. Feel free to take some liberties, in my last go around at this, we had some characters take unrequited love interests in NPC's...it was comical.
I love it RePete...too bad Posh isn't around, he'd make a great thrown weapon.
GM RePete
Would you consider allowing a Trox?
Gonna watch a movie with kiddos but plan to look into options for this afterwards.
GM RePete
Technically I'd have to go barbarian for at least part of it. I think its level 10? But it's a rage power that let's you beat someone with another someone.
GM RePete
Lol. Just confirmed Body Bludgeon is the rage power ability and minimum level is 10.
Hmmm...I think I can do this as a bloodrager for free enlarge person...time to brainstorm...
Starting Wealth (Min 105): 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3) = 9 x10 = 90...
105 it is

Working on purchases, traits, and backstory. Mechanically speaking, here's what I've come up with so far.
Feel free to veto anything you don't like Sir GM or ask questions. :-)

So I've been humming and hawing over what to make, but I think I've settled for an Ouat Dwarf Kineticist (Psammokinetic). I was considering making it a Kinetic Knight as well, but I think I'll keep it to a single Archetype.
As for the Campaign trait, I decided to take Student Survivalist (Shalelu).
I'll get more up once I flesh out the final details.\
Edit: Also...
Starting Gold: 1d6 ⇒ 1
So I guess I'm getting 35gp as minimum.
Madir
I've got my alias ready to go (Ralphrius here!), but I'm a bit strapped for time today so it might be a little while before I get my character done. He's gonna be a Fetchling Hunter (Packmaster) as planned, and he'll be having two animal companions for the most time; a giant vulture and a tiger.
Might as well get this done ahead of time:
Starting Gold: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4, 5) = 18

This is what I have so far. May have to fine tune it a bit, but let me know what you think.
Oren stayed among these dwarves for several years, learning how to harness the elements. Unfortunately, he never made any real friends among the Pahmet. Most of these sand dwarves say him as odd, at best, and brain-touched at worst. He had come to them late enough in his adolescence that he had already established the habits of the Ouat, including keeping himself shaved. Eventually, there was a small but vocal portion of the community that started to think of him as bad luck or worse. While he was used to the names and stares he was usually given, it eventually started to escalate to abuse and fighting. Oren tried to avoid the fights, but the more he was pushed around, the harder it got until he accidentally lost control and retaliated against the bullies with a blast of sand. While this didn't kill anyone, his master knew that things would get even worse if Oren stayed, and so he smuggled the yound dwarf aboard a shipping vessel and told Oren that the best thing would be to go into the world and find his own path.
The boat brought Oren to the wildlands of Varisia, specifically to the city of Magnimar. While he marveled at the City of Monuments, he quickly grew uncomfortable at both the size of the grand city, and the stares that he produced wherever he went. So he left and headed south, wandering the roads, where he eventually stumbled on a small raiding party of goblins. They very well could have overpowered and killed him, if it wasn't for the timely intervention of an elven ranger named Shalelu. The once the goblins were dispatched, Shalelu took the strange young dwarf under her wing and gave him some training in surviving the wilds of Varisia. Oren came to charish the time with the elven woman and came to think of her akin to an older sister, and she seemed to share the sentiment. Through Shalelu, he eventually came to Sandpoint and became a part-time resident. The rest of the time spent combing the wilderness, usually with his mentor, but sometimes on his own as well. He could tell that Shalelu was starting to think of other things, lately, though and told her that anywhere she went, he would follow.

Okay, so this is the result of what I've come up with so far (Blaydsong here, btw).
This is Oren Fireshade, my Ouat Caste Dwarf Kineticist (using the Psammokinetic archetype).
Let me know what you think.
Oren Fireshade
Some interesting things here, so far.
A Trox Bloodrager with a penchant for suplexes and human shotput.
A bearless dwarf that gets sand everywhere.
A shadowy hunter who 'loves' animals.
A cleric who's walking on sunshine
And.... maybe an Oracle?
All sarcasm, of course.
Seems like it should be an interesting good time.
Maybe we should have a roguish meat-blender that the Trox can throw around. ;)
Oren Fireshade
are we doing background skills or Crafting feats?
Good question.
Oren Fireshade
Ok. I'll be sure to modify Oren to accommodate BG skills.
As for crafting, it can be very iffy. The mechanics are not necessarily difficult, but it'll be a matter of how much 'off-time' we have to do such things. If we're gonna be a part of a caravan, there won't be very many opportunities to stay in one place (I would think) for a week+ to craft items. I'm reasonably certain that traveling is a detriment to crafting, unless you have a mobile workspace (workbench on a boat or something like that).
Gruhx
It depends on what you're crafting too. If it's a smaller magical item, you could theoretically spend 8hrs riding in the wagon to work on it.
Something I've done with an alchemist crafter before is buy a portable hole and set up a lab in it. The bought that ioun stone that negates need to breath. Climb in and work on crafting as a buddy Carrie's me around. ;-)

... That's just weird. :p
I made the adjustments to Oren using the BG skills. Nothing major, but I did opt for +1 skill point for favored class, just so that I can flush out the skills a bit better.
Oren Fireshade
A little bit of both would work. Maybe an Alchemist, or Investigator, or even a bard.
In a way, I kind of cover the magic, but only to a limited degree.
Either way, do what feels best for you.

Still throwing some ideas around, still playing with a couple builds. It seems like we're kind of short on skills and/or arcane casting. I'm never quite sure how big a deal party composition is with these things, though.
Technically speaking, the Trox will get arcane spells from being a bloodrager but is not a true caster.
I am a big fan of the Arm, Anvil, Hammer setup when gaming. AkA you build for damage, aid, and control. A lot of my characters fall into the "Arm" or "Anvil" roles.
I understand the standard Tank, DPS, Heals mentality and a lot of my F2F games fall into it due to old school DnD players being who I tend to game with. Personally, I started with Pathfinder.
So far we have...
(me) Bloodrager --> Frontiline, Grappler, Will do my best to keep enemies focused on me
Hunter --> Frontline or Range (Depending on build), 6+/- int per level skills, wisdom casting w/specific spell list, pet(s) - There are some rather interesting pet options in Ultimate Wilderness
Cleric of Sarenrae --> Combat Style depends on build, Wisdom casting, Due to deity - I suspect channeling positive energy
Kineticist --> Range (Guessing due to your taking PBS), Honestly...never played one so don't know much about what they do. :-P
We do have a lack of Arcane in the group and to my knowledge no one able to disable magical traps without using their face. (I volunteer! :-P)
Ultimately, I'd prefer you play something you want to play and not settle to help out the party. Worst case scenario, we have to get creative in dealing with issues we run into.
Oren Fireshade
Kineticist --> Range (Guessing due to your taking PBS), Honestly...never played one so don't know much about what they do. :-P
That's pretty much the long and the short of it. Dealing with various magical ranged attacks with a handful of utility-based abilities.
Can't say that I've ever heard of the Arm/Anvil/Hammer method before, but I'll definitely have to have a closer look.
Madir
I was considering making him a frontline, but honestly I can change that at the drop of a hat: All it really affects is my starting weapon and one of my spells (Gravity Bow versus Lead Blades). As for pets, I'll probably stick to two, a tiger and a giant vulture, and Boon Companion them both so for the foreseeable future they'll be matched with us level-wise.
Also, my guy has a -2 INT, so I'll only be having 4 skill ranks per level.
But yeah, I agree with RePete: pick something you want to play over something just to fill a niche in our party composition. Having a glaring flaw in our squad (such as an absolute lack of arcane knowledge) might even be fun in some ways!
Oren Fireshade
Maybe... but he would probably ask first. :p
