The Deep One, in a blood frenzy at the taste of its own blood leaking from a busted snout into its fang-filled mouth, thrusts its trident furiously at Nacht 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23, rending the Beetle Man's carapace for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 piercing, and snaps at his face 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16, chomping on empty space where the nimble Nacht's head was a split second earlier!

Alphonse hammers the thing's shark-like snout, releasing a spray of dark blood! It roars in rage and pain!

Nacht follows up with another deep hack into the beast's torso! It roars again in agonized fury!


The Deep One hisses and thrusts its trident at Nacht 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14, but the Beetle Man dodges the sharp tines! It bites at Nacht 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15, missing! The Beetle Man's insect-fast reflexes save him from harm!

A strange coat of glittering mail like fish scales clings to the man-shark's muscled torso, arms, and a pair of vestigial lateral fins below its arms....

In its rough gray claws it clutches a deadly-looking trident!


As the Lusty Fools ponder the significance of what Iommi-Tyr has transcribed from the concave plaster walls of this domed stronghold of the Necromancer, a dark, vaguely anthropomorphic shape appears in the watery doorway, and through the doorway, out of the magically arrested water that now fills the cistern, steps a monstrosity not fully human and not fully shark, but something horribly inbetween!

The Moray impaled on Yingzen's sword gasps out his final breaths as he collapses in the fetal position....

None of the other Morays can muster genuine regret for their evil deeds and evil natures....

Derrik, MJ, and Yingzen put the captive Morays to the sword with swift, brutal efficiency....

Their screams and curses echo in the spacious chamber....


Lying bastard! You promised us mercy! screams the Moray being dragged by Marcus and MJ to a window overlooking the street some 50 feet below....


This open talk of how best to kill them has the surviving 7 Morays rather fidgety....

Prior to the lightning, Yingzen's blade deals 13 slashing damage to the first Moray, who then drops when Radsworth's lightning rips through him....

The Morays struck by Radsworth's deadly bolt are all too eager to accept mercy and let their weapons fall to the floor.... They raise their hands in a gesture of surrender and fall on their knees....

The other four, though unharmed to this point, consider the swift carnage these interlopers have made of their leader and monster allies, and the display of magical might by Radsworth and Marcus, and throw down arms as well, bending knees and trembling in fear of The Fierce Ones!


One of the Morays (not one wounded by lightning) attempts a Will save vs DC 21 gift of madness 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23....and succeeds! It shakes it's head and growls, resisting Marcus' enchantment....

The eight Morays converge on Derrik, Mikey Jay, Yingzen and Mr Clean, who find themselves back to back in a knot at the forefront of the Fierce Ones, holding the southwest corner....

The 16 Morays surge around the corner at the east end of the hallway, coming into the Fierce Ones' lines of sight, AR-15s raised....

Double moves bring their front line (2 squares by 8) to about 10 ft from Derrik and Mikey J!


The 16 Morays in the four offices along the east and north sides of the fourth floor take up arms and hustle out into the hallway that makes a square circuit of the fourth floor....

A moment later, 8 Morays spill out of offices on the west side of the hall and head north, following the hydrodaemon and barghest, Elven curve blades drawn....


Mjolnir fells one of the Morays at 60 ft, and the other at 120 ft....


Only two Morays remain standing, both wounded. Seeing that they have lost the fight, both make complete withdraws, one from Yingzen, the other from Derrik and MJ, and flee southward, toward the causeway leading to Lido Key....


AoO against the tumbling Yingzen (their CMD is greater than 20)....

Elven curve blade 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 misses....

Yingzen ends his tumble in a monkey stance, curve blade slicing deep into the Moray's stomach.... It doubles over and gasps in pain, but keeps its feet under it....


Radsworth's bullet takes the badly wounded Moray facing Koran in the neck, finishing it off.... It gurgles and collapses, clutching its blood-spraying throat....


The Morays fight on with desperate fury....

Elven curve blade against Koran 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7....slashes the big wild rager for 7 damage....

Elven curve blade against Derrik 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6....crashes down on Derrik's shoulder pauldron without harming the inquisitor-paladin....

Elven curve blade against MJ 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12....is parried by the swordsman's blade....


Koran's swing smashes into a Moray's side, knocking the wind from its lungs, but it still stands....


Derrik rises as the Morays flanking him are momentarily distracted by their former captives and draws Excalibur down across one's back, releasing a shower of blood! The Moray screams and turns its attention back to Derrik, but succumbs to its wounds, collapsing to the street!


AoO on the young man attempting to grapple.... Elven curve blade 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 slashes the young man across the chest for 12 damage, drawing blood and a scream of pain, but not a fatal wound....

AoO on the elderly woman attempting to grapple.... Elven curve blade 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 slashes the elderly woman across her shoulder, wounding her, but not fatally....


AoO on MJ as he rolls up into a stand....

Elven curve blade 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 is parried by "BJ" with a ring of clashing steel!
