Apparently, a sunroom? We have one, except ours is an actual room in our hose, but with big heckin windows. And it's on the Eastern side of the house, so it gets plenty of sun. Like, I walked in there before, and it was 80 degrees, while it's around 30ish outside, lol

After reading the game play posts, I am curious: Did we stumble across a Hellraiser Box?? lol Also, just as an FYI: We're possibly getting another really bad snow storm tomorrow into Mon. We still have plenty of snow leftover from the last big storm about a month or so ago. Hopefully, we'll be okay, but if I don't post for a few days, you know why.
Templates are done!! Well, mostly, as there's so heckin many of them, I'm not gonna go through them all. You may request a template not on this list, but it must adhere to the following guidelines: 1) No undead templates. 2) No templates that grant a +6 or higher to an ability score, and none that grant a bonus to 5 or all six scores. 3) No templates that grant more than three or four bonus feats. I obviously have the final say, regardless. Now, a few quick notes about the approved templates: If any of the ones that have several options of which type of outsider you gained the template from grant a +6 to an ability score, that specific one is banned. For those same templates, you need to create a unique, named outsider that has granted you the template. You also need to detail exactly how and why you acquired it. I think I might have had some other things to add or adjust, but I'm quite wiped, and am heading to bed. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll get to them some time later today! Templates:
I'll work on getting a proper recruitment post up asap, as people seem interested. A few more important notes in the meantime: 1) The original game was intended to be fully open to as many players who wanted to join as possible. I'm unsure if I'll keep that same premise or not, but I might. 2) I should have made this more clear before now, but this has been a bit of a crazy week. I got called into work both yesterday and Thurs, and just didn't remember to post it till now: The players are the driving force behind this game, not the GM. The original game had 862 posts cuz we players were engaged. We had put the game on pause cuz we wanted to wait for the new mythic material from Legendary Games, but never picked it back up(for whatever reason). Keep that in mind as you work on your characters. Give them big, arching goals. This isn't a game about just saving the day or defeating the BBEG. It's also about running an organization/government, invading and taking over a country, bringing the fight to Hell/The Abyss, or any other similar *Epic* goals one can thing of!

Apologies for not posing the last couple of days. I got called into work on both Thurs and Fri(it's officially Sat for me) and haven't had too much spare time to post. I'm in another combat in a different game, and since I can only toss rocks, figured I would just hang back for now. Shoulda said something, but didn't intend to miss my turn.
Critzible wrote: Hmmm that does change things Ideal wise As I said above, the main reason I want at least one co-GM is so I can play(aka take part in the 'epic encounters/events' ie, actual combats and such). Should you decide to run your own version of this, I'll gladly be your co-GM so you're able to play as well. Or, maybe I'll just run two versions, one in Golarion and one in the Realms. We'll see, lol
Critzible wrote:
I plan on running this in Golarion, as I have some stories I want to tell there. However, if you're up for running a version of this in the Realms, I have plenty of characters I can make for that as well. And, I'll even help ya co-GM that too. Unsure if you read any of the posts in the original recruitment/discussion, but the role of the GM is pretty much based around the 'epic content' be that plots dealing directly with the gods, potentially acquiring artifacts, leveling past 20, running 'epic events'(which I'll probably suggest be anything unique that has a CR of 20+) , etc. Otherwise, we players tell our stories as we desire, and hopefully meet up with one another, but that's not technically required. Though, I do believe the original GM had his own epic events he planned to run that would basically drag all the players in. **Edit** Another thing I forgot to include as far as possible 3pp content would be the races & paragon classes from Rite Publishing's In the Company Of line. That above list wasn't everything, but just wanted to explain where my thinking is at as to what I'm okay with allowing for 3pp content. As much as I love Spheres, PoW, Psionics, Akashic, etc, I don't have a lot of experience with those systems. Thus, I am not comfortable including them in this, as they add too much I'm unfamiliar with. Legendary classes mostly add versatility to the core classes. Some are a lot stronger, so make boost their weaker core counterpart, but none change the game to the extent those above systems do. Same with the Breath of Life classes(for example) from Orphaned Bookworm or the Genius classes from Rogue Genius Games. **Double the edit, double the fun?** Just as an FYI, the main thing any co-GMs would need to do is run any epic encounters/events in addition to the ones I'll be running, so I can take part in them as well. *Unless* my fellow players don't mind my doing both, of course(as I said above, I know GMPCs can be a touchy subject for some).
I'm not currently intending mythic myself. We added mythic to the old game, but for now, nobody will be starting off with mythic tiers. Whether we eventually become mythic or will be something we decide on together. I won't force it on the players without their input. As for 3pp, just to make it clear: There will be no Spheres of Power/Might/Guile, Psionics, Path of War, or Akashic or any other subsystem classes. **Unless** another player is familiar enough with those rules to run them confidently **and** the other players agree to allow them. Rather, I'm referring to things like Legendary classes, Path of Magic classes, or the classes from Orphaned Bookworm Productions. *However* as stated in the header, this is a shared, cooperative game. If everyone else is opposed to even that 3pp material, I'll bow to the collective. That said, should we eventually decide on Mythic, I might have to insist on using the mythic material from Legendary Games, because it adds so much more, and includes all the stuff Paizo couldn't.
A long, long time ago, in a forum far away, a game was ran in the infancy of both Pathfinder and my time here on the boards. Sadly, the GM eventually vanished, and it fell to us players to keep it going. We eventually put it on pause, and never picked it back up. I would like to make a new attempt at Ambitious Hearts except this time, it will be set in Golarion. I have stories I wanna tell as both PC and GM set there, and I'm hopeful most people are familiar with that setting due to all the APs and such. As it says in the header, I'm hoping to get at least one other person to help run this, as I will playing myself. On the off chance nobody else is willing to assist me as GM, I'll still make a character and tell my own stories, but I can refrain from taking part in the 'epic events' if the other players would prefer that(as I know GMPCs can be a touchy subject). I won't be gettin into too many details of character creation just yet, in part because I haven't solidified them all. However, the following are a few I'm currently leaning towards: 20th level.
An important note: Please read at least the OP in the above linked post, so you have some idea of what this game will be like. Obviously, the more of the recruitment(and the discussion thread) you read, the better your overall understanding will be. *EDIT*: Dang it, I knew there was something I was forgetting! Right now, while I am open to 3pp material(as I love supporting my frendos in the biz!), I am currently not going to allow secondary systems like Spheres/Path of War/Psionics/etc. With everything else goin on in this game, I think all of those extra systems might be too much. **However**, if somebody else is willing to help run characters using those extra rulesets, I'll consider allowing them.

Ray, important question(which, I suppose would be relevant beyond this immediate moment): When we realized what a Strigoi was or when we remembered who Pharasma is, how much exactly do we know? Ie, do we know she's the goddess of Death or that they're a type of vampire? In another words, how much of what we possibly knew about these things *before* our amnesia do we suddenly remember? Just in case, I'll make a d20 check here: 1d20 ⇒ 19 Specifically on the Strigoi.
Rizzen, I'm about halfway done with my PC, but it was too freakin cold here (felt like -5 and colder) all weekend long to work on him much. I spent the vast majority of both days curled up under a blanket binge watching Trollhunters(great heckin show btw). I'll try to finish him up tonight, though I may not have all my magic items done.

"I have an interesting suggestion. The little we were able to understand of Ulver's mad ramblings sound rather similar to the nonsense that thing behind the tapestry spewed forth. What if we bring him to the tapestry and see if there's any sort of recognition or reaction from one or both?" She suggests, more to the Pharasmins than her companions, but including them as well.

Ray, just a reminder cuz I know you're busy and I don't want it to get lost in all the posts, but I'm awaiting a reply from Autumn and Novembre: Monkeygod wrote: While the others attack the zombies, he ponders the words Ulver mutters. She turns to the pair of Pharsmans. "That kinda sounds similar to what that thing behind the tapestry kept saying. Do you think the two are somehow linked? I hate to say it, but I'm thinking more and more that the best decision for us is to put that poor man out of his misery."

No worries Ray! Also, apologies if I possibly came across as hostile or accusatory in my last post. Absolutely was not my intention, as I was just rather confused and looking for clarification. However, upon late night reflection while laying in bed, I realized I might be a lil hostile in my post. Again, sorry if that was the case. I'm off to a doc appt, but hopefully the NPCs will reply to my last in game post about Ulver and the "thing behind the tapestry" by the time I return.

I have confusion. This post **seems** to indicate that the room the cauldrons are in is in fact Hallowed: NPC: "The Search for Aroden" wrote:
But, then you claim otherwise here: NPC: "The Search for Aroden" wrote:
So which is it? Is B14 not actually Hallowed to fill the cauldrons with water every morning at dawn? If not, that might be problematic as we just used a fair amount of the water in them to drink, wash up, and fill the 26 vials. If it is indeed Hallowed, then can the Pharasmans just not regain their spells unless in the actual chapel dedicated to her? Or, can they try to sleep within B14, and with us guarding them, perhaps get enough rest to restore their spells?
Rizzen, I was going to take the alternate racial trait Wildfire Heart, which grants a +4 to initiative in place of Resist Fire 5. Now, obviously, I don't need to take that trait, but the 6th level power of the Fire domain gives me Resist Fire 10, which doesn't stack with the racial Resist 5. Thus, I was hoping to get a more useful ability.

While the others attack the zombies, he ponders the words Ulver mutters. She turns to the pair of Pharsmans. "That kinda sounds similar to what that thing behind the tapestry kept saying. As Torch and Dwarf discuss the other prisoner, he remembers something from the paperwork they had just found. "Hang on a moment. Didn't the report we read say that the Briarstone Witch has been using Ulver's nightmares to torment everyone within the Asylum? Meaning, he's the origin of them?" She asks. Turning to Autumn, they continue "Is it possible that if we put him down, the nightmares will end, or at least lessen? Also, do you know if sleeping in the Hallowed chamber with the cauldrons of holy water is a safe enough place to restore your spells?" I had asked about the other Hallowed room before, but it must have gotten lost in the shuffle.

Upon seeing their dwarven companion race over to the morningstar, and hearing the subsequent discussion of who should take it, he offers his own suggestion. "I have no need for such a weapon. At least, for the time being. If the Dwarf wants it, I am okay with letting him have it." She says, once more taking on the unintended role of mediator.

Yeah, so I'll be(for example) a 10th level Ifrit Inquisitor with the Hexenhammer and Immolator archetypes, since you can have more than one archetype as long as they don't replace the same things. *Edit*: 9d8 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 6, 8, 8, 2, 1, 2) = 40 HP roll
Rizzen, originally, I was going to make my character a human, but running with the Kossuth/fire angle, how would you feel if I played an Ifrit instead? Not only are they the fire touched race in Pathfinder, but they have a kinda awesome thematic racial archetype that is totally on brand for this concept, the Immolator . Which, does not clash with the Hexenhammer.

Hearing that they need to coax the young lady in the corner into drawing them a map, she walks over to her. "I know you're very scared, and this whole situation is pretty frightening. I'm scared too. It's okay to be afraid. But, if you would like to be brave, if you want to help us, I hear you've got a pretty special talent. Do you think you could maybe try and draw us a map? We would really appreciate it if you can." He says, doing his best to convince Miranda to draw them the map. I know Lemming also talked to her, this in addition to his successful attempt. If nothing else, perhaps Miranda will feel a bit better after my talking to her as well. As the others look over Miranda's map, she makes a suggestion. "What about going back up the hallway B2 and try to make our way through that large chamber C9 and into the chapel from the north?"
I'm stuck tryin to figure out which deity works best for this concept, and how exactly I want to portray them. I know Rizzen posted their thoughts on what the Inquisitor should be, but I'm not sure I'm really comfortable playing that level of a fanatical religious devotee. Cuz I'm not exactly all the religious IRL, and **loathe** those types of people. **However**, I also kinda wanna pick a sun/fire god, so I can say "By fire be purged!" lol

I'm not too worried about #1. You've told us if we die during this opening set of scenes, our actual PC will 'show up' at some other point. While we're past the initial nightmare scene, I imagine that still holds up(us dying and our real PC still being in game) and I trust you. Regarding #2, we have a few destinations, which I think is a bit confusing. We need to go to the chapel, and downstairs, but also there's that thing behind the tapestry, and we need to maybe try and calm down the little girl. So, there's a lot. Also, I just realized my question about sleeping in the Hallowed room was never answered: Can the spellcasters recover their spells via sleeping in the room with cauldrons? I also don't have much of an issue with #3. It's a bit odd, but it hasn't actually really mattered, much at this point. We've mostly been roleplaying, and haven't needed many die rolls. I will say I am a bit hesitant about confronting whatever lies behind the tapestry as level 1 PCs with no stats/classes, but I suppose that perfectly fits the general theme of the game! As for #4, I'm used to your long posts, and how many you make. I will say that one minor compliant I have is that you keep posting the full names of all of your NPCs/locations, which does throw me for a loop a bit. Cuz, that's obviously not how we talk IRL. Besides that, I do think you're a bit impatient(not a bad thing! Gaming is hype AF and this is a pretty cool concept!). Remember, this is play by post, and they are slow by their nature. Not to mention the fact that pretty much the whole country is dealing with the aftermath of a *massive* snowstorm(and some of us might get another this weekend) plus bitter cold, and yeah, people might not have the time/spoons for a post atm. And that's in addition to their normal IRL stuff. I'll post soon myself. I actually just derped, and forgot to last night.
Pair of important questions: A lot of the really good Inquisitor specific feats & spells come from Ultimate Magic/Combat and ACG. Are you allowing them at all? Same with APG, since the Inquisitor and Witch are from that book? Also, are you allowing any Forgotten Realms books, or just the Campaign Setting book(which is 3.0, fyi. It gets a 3.5 update in the Player's Guide) and Faith & Pantheons? I'm okay with whatever you decide, just tryin to sort out which books, exactly, I can draw from.
Stat roll time! 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 4) = 14 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 5) = 14 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 6) = 19 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 5) = 14 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 5) = 20 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 3) = 11 12 1d6 ⇒ 1 Re-roll 1d6 ⇒ 3 Re-roll, again? 13 17 1d6 ⇒ 2 Re-roll 13 17 1d6 ⇒ 5 13 12, 13, 17, 13, 17, 13. Heh, I feel like multiple 13s is rather fitting for this game, LOL

While he has no idea who or what she was, they felt drawn to both priest and inquisitor. As if they might, perhaps, be kindred spirits somehow. Thus, she turns to them first. "I know you're reluctant to enter your superior's office, Autumn, but if there is even a possibility of useful information inside, we must. Especially if such information could help protect the children." He says, before they speak to the Inquisitor. "Would the hallowed room allow you to sleep well enough to recover your magicks, if we helped guard your slumbering forms? Or is the chapel our only hope for such rest?"
Gonna repost my comment on the original thread: Inquisitor is one of my all time favorite classes, and one of(if not the best) the best classes 1-20. I'll gladly take that role. Though, how would you feel about the Hexenhammer archetype? I feel like there's a lot more of an interesting opportunity for roleplay, **especially** if there's some sort of pre-existing bond with the Witch PC. Maybe the two of us are related, or friends(former?) or something? Maybe they briefly lead my PC down a dark road(hence the powers of the archetype) and may occasionally tempt me to further use the Hexenhammer abilities? The Hexenhammer is from Horror Adventures, so perhaps it might be more fitting overall than the Witch Hunter.

"The loud one," He says, pointing at Wyatt. "Claims to have been here for several years, but hasn't seen us before. There's over a dozen of us, and he's somehow missed seeing such a large group? That doesn't make much sense." She's not quite accusing him of lying, but they are at least a bit suspicious of his claims. "We were kept in a lower level. Perhaps you just never went down far enough to find us?"
