![]() Tundran, just by looking it looks like we have very few or none of the following classes : Monk
If someone has put one of these in, I am sorry if I missed that. Also I understand that we have a Slayer, Hunter and Skald which takes parts from some of these classes. ![]()
![]() TheLizardWizard, I understand your attraction to the raising an army. But I do seem to recall that those who raise the dead or even summon in this campaign are frowned upon, as you are enslaving the corpse or creature to do your bidding. I don't know whether GM Cody will do anything about it in game though. ![]()
![]() Ravingdork, just looked at your character, it seems we are both putting forwards a support sorceror. Just wondered how you got 32 on your Bluff though and how useful Cunning Caster would be? I only ask as I like the idea of Bluffing when castings spells, so may use it in a real-life game at some point. ![]()
![]() Faelar Braegen here, here is Kerri's profile, updated for this campaign. Kerri is all about support more than offense. She has no offense spells other than cantrips, she focuses on Reduce Person (for defense) and Sleep. She also has ranks in Diplomacy, Perform (Sing) and Profession (Chef). So she can help with solving situations diplomatically, provide songs to lift the mood whilst we are travelling, as well as cook good food for everyone, so that no one has to feed on rations all the time. Whilst going back through my posting history you may come across a period where I wasn't here for a year(ish). My most recent campaign is a Rise of the Runelords one. I have provided writing examples in the profile. If you need anything else, please ask and I will provide to the best of my ability. I have added myself to the applicants list, I hope that was okay. ![]()
![]() Okay, so I finally got around to choosing my background skills. So I now have a rank in Profession (Chef) and Profession (Brewer) as I figured they went well together and means I could create both the food and drink each time. As I had a spare skill point remaining too, I also put a rank into bluff so that I can tell the truth but leave dangerous bits out easier. (example : a player kills NPC {dave} by mistake and we are questioned about it. "Dave was attacked and we saw the whole thing, it was unexpected.") ![]()
![]() Thank-you for the support Jesse, I would also like to repay the favour by stating that this is a member who is always quick to reply to posts. Also is a GM, which is always a plus as you know they won't just disappear on you. I shall put forward 2 of my favourite posts once I am home and not on my phone. ![]()
![]() I love the fact that you are posting so frequently and with a lot of details. I bodes well for the campaign and I for one am really looking forward to it. I think I am a little excessive on my posting frequency, I check the boards every hour or 2, sometimes even more than that. So IF I got selected, expect more than just 1 post a day, probably about 4-5 depending on what is happening and who is talking to me. Wolfspirit : I do have one last question for you (at least I think it is the last question), how will you be doing spellcasters for hire? Kerri will be getting Permanency cast on her later and would prefer to pay someone to cast it for her, as she would have such a low spell list. Would this be viable, or would she have to select it still? ![]()
![]() Well if Background Skills do become a definite yes, then I will be putting Profession Chef as one of mine, so I can get another skill that will be more useful. I kind of don't want to remove the profession as I feel that is helps complete the character, so the worst case scenario is that it will be useless. But I can still use it for roleplay, great for around the camp. Maybe my rations taste better than everyone elses? What would you sya the price for herbs and spices would be? Just a small collection that any chef would want, I was thinking of spending 30 GP on it, but would very much like your opinion on it. ![]()
![]() Wolfspirit : I like your idea of Provisions, Kerri has Profession (Chef), would this still work with your Provision idea? I was think of someone hunting some food every other day and then Kerri preparing it, cooking it and making enough for 2-3 days each time. If this still works for your game and Kerri gets selected I will have to buy a pony to carry my cooking gear (iron pot, etc) on, unless there is a strong PC willing to help out. I know that it is a skill that wouldn't get a lot of use in a game, but I figured it would make things more "real", fun and bring about some good roleplay segments. Also means that the characters wouldn't get bored of eating rations each day and would give people time to do craft checks or meditate. Also, have you made a verdict about the Background skills yet? Not trying to rush you or anything and if it seems that I am, I deeply apologise. Just trying to think about if they were allowed what I would put the other skills in. ![]()
![]() Here is my half of the duo. This is all I have at the moment, but I shall carry on working on it. Sorry if this is in a bad format, if I get selected I shall write it our properly in an alias. Most of the information should be there though, excluding appearance, backstory and equipment. Feel free to message me if I have missed anything else. Details:

![]() Thank you for the good word Jesse. I in turn would like to say the same about you, always quick to respond to questions and posting frequently. Daelric is primarily a Defender, the sponge of the group. So his Offensive abilities will leave a bit to be desired. I should have him adjusted for this rulset by tonight. Gold : 5d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 1, 2) + 10 = 20 ... 150 GP it is then, not sure I could get by on 20! ![]()
![]() Core Dwarf? I won't be using a Duergar if that is what you mean? I might change around some of the Alternate Traits, I will have a look tomorrow when I have more time. Just had a quick check at Stone Lord and realised just how bad it really is ... I will still stick with it though. It is better for the character and flavour. ![]()
![]() I am only using things from the Core Rulebook, Advanced Players Guide, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Campaign and Advanced Race Guide. So highly doubt there is anything in there that is non PFS. Still trying to decide whether to stick with Point Blank Shot or if I should should switch it for Skill Focus (Diplomacy), as she is supposed to be very diplomatic. ![]()
![]() 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15
Okay, so nothing over the top, but everything all rounded. I think I shall edit Daelric Morieth and apply him to this campaign. He is a Dwarven Paladin of the (Stone Lord Archtype). ![]()

![]() DM Jesse Heinig wrote:
Ah, well I shall have to look into it at some point then, at the moment drawn to Kingmaker. I prefer table top gaming, but PbP's can be so much better due to the time you can spend on a round putting as much detail as you like into it. So I feel that Kingmaker would be a better PbP. Unconventional groups are always the most fun to play with, so I can see why you went with it. I got into a Legacy of Fire campaign before as a Bard and I ended up being the only healer ... that was very unconventional. Good idea, I have been told that they are both very similar in the sandbox style, but Serpents Skull takes a bit more work. Well when you get around to it, I shall apply. Until then, I hope that this campaign runs smoothly for you. ![]()
![]() DM : I have heard that Reign of Winter is bad as here is very little story involved, just lots and lots of fights. Can you think of anyway that I could improve Kerri for future applications? If you ever need another player in a campaign, I am more than happy to step up to the plate. Is your Serpents Skull going to be PbP, if so and you will be putting up a recruitment thread I will throw my hat in. It's thr 1 campaign I really want to play and have even commissioned an artist to do a portrait for my character. ![]()
![]() I will throw my hat in here, I did apply for DM Jesses Kingmaker but sadly did not make the cut. Kerri is a Halfling Sorceress of the Linnorm (Draconic) Bloodline. She is primarily focused on Diplomacy and either buffing the allies or debuffing the enemies. Everything has been adjusted for your rulset, now to decide whether to stick with Point Blank Shot (feat) and Magic Missile (spell), or switch to Skill Focus Diplomacy (feat) and Sleep (spell). Here is my writing example, it is from a character I tried to use to get into a Legacy of Fire game, but he wasn't selected unfortunately. But the writing should still be okay. Writing Example: Archon quietly went about his work, keeping his head down so as not to draw unwanted attention from his master before his daily beating and flogging. He shuffles forwards sweeping the path and garden; a half hour job takes him nearly 2 hours due to the fetters that are chaffing his ankles and starting to draw blood, knowing full well that he would go with mess food again tonight for taking so long. But he knows better than to say anything, he had done that once and it wasn't the cane the master used, it was the knife. He could still remember the sharp pain as the blade pierced his arm and ripped downwards, scarring his large arm.
Today whilst working he spots someone at the gate and rushes over to open it, partly fearing the reaction and mostly fearing the master in case he decided to beat him for stopping his work. As Archon made it to the gate he over extended his step slightly and fell onto the gate knocking it outwards, luckily the guest managed to step to one side and thus avoided harm. "I will beaten for this now, why do I have to live like this?" The guest reached down and helped Archon to his feat, he didn't recoil at the site of the Orc, (for many believe Half-Orcs to still be Orcs) but checked to see if he was alright before asking to be taken to the Master. Archon noticed the look in the mans eye upon seeing him shuffle to the Masters room "A look of pity or disgust?" Archon knocked on the door and informed the master of his guest, the master in turn replied with a master around the back of the head and sent him on his way. As Archon left he heard the master speak to his new guest, "The only way to treat those brutes is with force, it is all they know. So who are you and what do you want with me?" A couple of hours later the master and his guest walked out into the garden and to the gate, they stopped at the gate and summoned Archon over. The master turned to him and glared at him, "You are this mans property now, you shall do as he tells you and you will not dishonour me by being defiant." He went to smack his head again, but the new master caught his hand and spoke in a quiet, yet threatening voice, "Would you damage someone elses property, sir?" The old master glared at him and stormed off. The new master looked to Archon and smiled, "Now let's get rid of those chains, shall we? Sarenrae will not tolerate you in them." Archon looked at the man in a worried way and when he realised it wasn't a trap or test he replied, "No offense master, but no. I will keep them to remind me of what has happened, so I can look to the future. I do not know who this Sarenrae is, is it another master?" The man shocked by this reached into his pack and produced a book, handed it to Archon and smiled, "Read this, be accepted into her warm light and learn, I am one of her children. I am going on an expedition, it will be dangerous but if you survive, you can earn your freedom." With that they both walked into the city of Katapesh towards a new and dangerous future. ![]()
![]() I have often hear applicants and GM's saying that it is such a hard decision on who to pick and I agree, with such a wide variety of characters it is hard to pick just 5. For some reason though, I had the following idea pop into my head ... imagine the GM couldn't decide so split the applicants into 5 character groups and got all the groups to fight. The winning group gets the adventure :-P ![]()
![]() Korak : I will have to find that Archtype fir a table top game, it sounds a lot of fun! DM : You have stated on your reference sheet that Kerri is a Debuffer, the original plan was to be a party Buffer. Everyone : However if I get selected would people prefer me to be a Buffer or Debuffer? At this stage it doesn't make a huge amount of difference to her build.
