** spoiler omitted **
I tend to stay away from Human, I findthem just a bit too boring and common. I have played as a Human once and surprisingly it was the only character to complete a campaign from the start.

Korak The Boisterous |

Not to mention if I take a particular archetype I can start play with a plant that is horridly powerful healer. Of course I can only use it once a day. It does 1d8 positive energy per herbalist level. And at level 10 if I use another special ability and use it to get two uses of this plant, I can use it to resurrect someone who died in the last hour.

Korak The Boisterous |

Keep in mind that Sahisysha is a third party class, the class is called Herbalist they draw divine power from nature as opposed to god, they can turn use strawberries as acid splash weapons, they can use medical herbs to heal, the archetype is Conservationist. they find the rarest of rare plants and cultivate them. It's very hard and permanent and you don't get them unless you take the archetype, where as the normal version can change their loadout depending upon mood and whatever. There's also an element of randomness to the base herbalist, as you forage for wild herbs and plants every day and choose to cultivate your favorites.

Giuseppe Capriati |

There's a mistake in the recruitment applicants sheet. Giuseppe Capriati is my username (and real life name XD), not my character's name. My character is Vasilyan Medvyed. I would define him as something between a ranged tank and a ranged striker, with the ability to act as the secondary healer.

Arnnak the Rusted |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Your search for a rogue is (kinda) over! I've finally gotten off my lazy duff and finished my app, which has notably undergone a few tweaks to make him fit a little better.
Introducing Razzik the Hunter, a kobold Deep Walker/Trapper ranger from the Stolen Lands who has decided that the prospect of being a ruler is much more profitable than a simple brigand who spends his free time luring bears and magical monsters into bandit camps and stealing their stuff (although the latter is undeniably hilarious!)

Kerri Corynian |

Korak : I will have to find that Archtype fir a table top game, it sounds a lot of fun!
DM : You have stated on your reference sheet that Kerri is a Debuffer, the original plan was to be a party Buffer.
Everyone : However if I get selected would people prefer me to be a Buffer or Debuffer? At this stage it doesn't make a huge amount of difference to her build.

Calmlight |

Here's the submission I'm going with: Agira Marca. There's no way I'm going to have time to develop the other idea I talked to you about so I just went with the safe choice. Not even sure if you're allowing multiple submissions anyways.
I'm not 100% done at the moment but I'm only just lacking adventuring gear and maybe the answers to your questions if I can find the time before the deadline. I'll finish it up and make it all official when I get home later tonight.

JDPhipps |

If you're still taking submissions, I have a kind of offbeat character that I might put forward for the campaign. He's a summoner from neighboring Numeria who used to work as an archaeologist, and his eidolon is an automaton that he discovered while exploring a Numerian ruin. If this concept is something that you might be interested in, let me know; it'd take me a bit to re-make all his stats and fluff, so if the idea is too out there for you, I'd rather not spend all the work to rebuild him.
That said, I'll get it done ASAP if it's a character you might entertain. He'd be good for any kind of Charisma/Intelligence based kingdom role, but his character would fit most with something like the Magister.

Cassandra Lupin |

Cassandra would let her actions speak for her. Every child of Luna village must spend some time away from home to get an appreciation of the kinds of people outside of it. It is both a learning experience and a warning. There has yet been a death with this but some have been ousted from their communities when their heritage was discovered by accident or by choice. When Cassandra left she found a job protecting the logging operation of the Medvyed from bandits and dangerous creatures, a job that has a lot of the same skills necessary for this mission.
"How do you plan to set up a new nation and establish the trust and loyalty of the people?"
She will likely follow her grandfather’s lead. Scout a potential area. Evaluate it for the basics of living and expansion. Persuade, dissuade or remove threats: in that order. Establish early warning procedures and emergency procedures for all imagined outcomes, no matter the probability. And most importantly, be there for them. Cornelius never seemed too busy to just chat with the villagers or listen to problems they had. Cassandra isn’t anywhere near his level of comfort when talking with people but she has done her best to emulate him.
"What sorts of religious and legal strictures do you think should be part of a new nation?"
At home there weren’t really any laws except during the full moon. Some could still not control the beast. But nearly everyone there had been through similar experiences with prejudice and violence. The younger generations are taught this same lesson with the pilgrimage. She knows her village is unique and little will apply to the new one which will be made of all different kinds of people with different values and experience. In this, she will just have to take someone else’s lead but she would like to emphasize leniency and second chances for all but the worst of individuals.
"Do you have particular plans and goals? Why should the swordlords support those goals?"
She wouldn’t have a goal in mind for the Swordlords. She would tell them that she is a capable hunter and can both guide and protect people in the forest. That is her goal. Her true goal is far more. Cassandra doesn’t have the confidence in her charisma to persuade the people to accept her kind: outcasts and sinister looking creatures. All of them may look the part of the monster but none of them are. She can vouch for that but she doesn’t think she can be convincing enough to make others agree. So her real goal is to be enough of an upstanding figure in the community that she can be accepted, despite knowing or, finding out, that she is a Skinwalker. If they can be comfortable with her then she can be a diplomat for her village. The intent of the village is to move south and establish treaties with the neighboring communities or be a part of one. It is the reason they sent their children ahead, to hopefully open negotiations in the future.
"Do you have a criminal background? Is there anything we should know now that might cause problems later in your political future if it were to get out to the public?"
"No"
Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Crap.
"Uh. I don't have a criminal record. I give my word on that. I have no ill intentions for you, or Brevoy, or anyone really. I don't plan to take a public office. I am not suited for it. I am a scout and hunter. I don't talk well...ugh. What I mean to say is. I...I just want people to judge me by my actions, not by what they perceive me to be. Not every monster is evil and not every saint is good. I'd like to help create a place people where know the difference." Better...right?

Korak The Boisterous |

Korak : I will have to find that Archtype fir a table top game, it sounds a lot of fun!
The Herbalist Includes rules for various biomes, how to make your own biome list for the truly strange, 2 archetypes, and the base class. Plus Feats.

Jester of the River Kingdoms |

Now for the obligatory non-obligatory questions!
Plus, he's a reasonably good comedian.
It should be noted that Jester would have the non-social skill-monkey role covered with a mixture survival, Knowledges, Disable Device and the like. He's more than just a smiling face with a bow ;)

Jester of the River Kingdoms |

Yeah, sorry, I hadn't meant to cause confusion. I was originally going to say "Time for the obligatory questions" in a mock-serious way. but didn't want to imply that they were required. Hence the "non-obligatory obligatory questions."
Foiled by trying to be clever.
Anyway, those are pretty valid questions for a Kingmaker style campaign. I've run a tabletop KM campaign once that ran off-rails a bit when party members really didn't make good leaders / rulers. While watching a Kingdom fail can be fun, most GMs that are drawn to Kingmaker probably want to see a Kingdom expand and watch as a rag-tag team of adventurers grow into successful leaders.
Having the seeds established and being able to deal with "So, you want to turn your fledgling River Kingdom into a slave empire...? Yeah, we should talk..." early is a good idea ;)

Tony_Sinclair |

Obligatory questions or not, I had a good time answering them :). It showed me some faults with my background that I was quick to fix

Domain
Like a cleric's deity, an inquisitor's deity influences her alignment, what magic she can perform, and her values. Although not as tied to the tenets of the deity as a cleric, an inquisitor must still hold such guidelines in high regard, despite that fact she can go against them if it serves the greater good of the faith. An inquisitor can select one domain from among those belonging to her deity. She can select an alignment domain only if her alignment matches that domain. With the GM's approval, an inquisitor can be devoted to an ideal instead of a deity, selecting one domain to represent her personal inclination and abilities. The restriction on alignment domains still applies.
Each domain grants a number of domain powers, depending on the level of the inquisitor. An inquisitor does not gain the bonus spells listed for each domain, nor does she gain bonus spell slots. The inquisitor uses her level as her effective cleric level when determining the power and effect of her domain powers. If the inquisitor has cleric levels, one of her two domain selections must be the same domain selected as an inquisitor. Levels of cleric and inquisitor stack for the purpose of determining domain powers and abilities, but not for bonus spells.
Speak with Animals (Sp)
You can speak with animals, as per the spell, for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + your cleric level.
Judgment (Su)
Starting at 1st level, an inquisitor can pronounce judgment upon her foes as a swift action. Starting when the judgment is made, the inquisitor receives a bonus or special ability based on the type of judgment made.
At 1st level, an inquisitor can use this ability once per day. At 4th level and every three levels thereafter, the inquisitor can use this ability one additional time per day. Once activated, this ability lasts until the combat ends, at which point all of the bonuses immediately end. The inquisitor must participate in the combat to gain these bonuses. If she is frightened, panicked, paralyzed, stunned, unconscious, or otherwise prevented from participating in the combat, the ability does not end, but the bonuses do not resume until she can participate in the combat again.
When the inquisitor uses this ability, she must select one type of judgment to make. As a swift action, she can change this judgment to another type. If the inquisitor is evil, she receives profane bonuses instead of sacred, as appropriate. Neutral inquisitors must select profane or sacred bonuses. Once made, this choice cannot be changed
Monster Lore (Ex)
The inquisitor adds her Wisdom modifier on Knowledge skill checks in addition to her Intelligence modifier, when making skill checks to identify the abilities and weaknesses of creatures
Stern Gaze (Ex)
Inquisitors are skilled at sensing deception and intimidating their foes. An inquisitor receives a morale bonus on all Intimidate and Sense Motive checks equal to 1/2 her inquisitor level (minimum +1).

Born into riches and nobility, Tony Sinclair had a pretty sheltered life. Anything he could ever want was handed to him on a silver platter, litteraly. His family loved him, he had a beautiful fiancé, life was good. The Sinclair family was a noble house which rised through the ranks of power through trade, particularly lumber.
They lived in a particularly heavy forested area of Varisia and used the bounty of nature to fund there rise to power. The family had repeatedly come to blows with druids many times in there history and did not have a good relationship with the church of Erastil, in fact Tony's father openly mock them on several occasions, unknowingly gaining the ire of Erastil himself.
on the night before his wedding, Tony decided to go on a hunt. He wasn't able to find anything and quickly through in the towel. But on his way back, he ran into a pure white stag trapped in a bear trap. It's antlers were large and resembled branches and vines wrapped themselves around the stags legs, the only thing that ran through Tony's mind was how majestic and beautiful this creature was. So he freed the stag and watch contently as it ran away, completely in awe of the beast. He had no idea that he had just saved a Herald of Erastil.
When he went to bed, he was taken to the plane of nature, where to his surprise, the stag he save was in front of him. After some minor panicking, it explained that it was actually the Herald of Erastil himself and that Tony had passed the test. He told him that if Tony could convince his family to officially apologize to Erastil, then Erastil will spare his family of the destruction he is going to bring onto them.
When Tony woke up, he had thought it was all a dream. Until he saw the same white stag staring at him through his window. Tony quickly ran to his wedding ceremony, underdressed, Uncleaned, and desperate.
Tony pleaded with his family to apologize to the god, but his father would have none of it and, furious at his sons weakness of will, disowned him in front of everyone in the family
Heart broken at his fathers reaction to him trying to save them, he ran away from the compound. As soon as his feet touched the earth outside, the foundation of the compound shattered, bringing the whole thing down upon the entirety of the Sinclair line, killing everyone.
Tony sat there, in front of his destroyed home, he sat there for three days and three nights, not moving, only able to survive because of the animals which would bring him food. He could have easily blamed Erastil, could have chose to follow his family into death.
But he didnt, after quite a bit of soul searching, Tony understood that Erastil was not a bully that killed his family, he understood that his family, while he loved them. We're a proud noble house full of hubris which was the worse offence to the gods there was. He understood the Erastil was a king protecting his subjects from a group that constantly attacked his home and beat his people. Tony understood all of that, he respected that,...he could follow that.
Which is why when he saw the white stag once more he prostrated himself and proclamation Erastil his God.
Afterwhich the stag granted Tony Divine power and told him to go to Mendev and stay there.
After travaling around Mendev, Tony sensed the waning presence of his lords power eminating from the stolen lands and has heard word of the swordlords plan to explore it. So he sets off to be part of the group ment to go.
his look
Tony is a man who tries to be humble in everything he does, he is a lover of animals and nature. Though he has been known to go a bit gung-ho at times.
He dislikes fire for obvious reasons.
He Hates arrogant people with superiority complexes and hates when he fails at anything, not because of any belief that he is perfect, but because he believes that if he fails enough that what happened to his family, Will happen again to someone else.
"why should the swordlords trust me"
Tony is a devotee of Erastil, a God of the wild and has extensive training in wilderness survival, geography, and pathfinding. His trustworthiness is undeniable because of his divine magic, which means he is truly working on the behalf of his God.
"How do you plan to set up a new nation and establish the trust and loyalty of the people"
By listening to the people of course! Without the small folk a kingdom is nothing and history has shown that it's the people who make the king...not to say that I want to be king but it's something that I plan to make the king do. The king has to be loyal to his people, who in turn will reward the leader with there loyalty.
"Do you have particular plans and goals? Why should the swordlords support those goals?"
My goal is to spread the power of Erastil to the stolen lands, I wish to make a community that while will live of the land, they will respect it and nuture it. the reward will be the favor of Erastil himself, as i would know, he always pays his debts
Do you have a criminal background? Is there anything we should know now that might cause problems later in your political future if it were to get out to the public?
My family, the Sinclair, were...particularly cruel to Erastil and his land...and they paid for it. Even though they got what they deserved in the end, my family name has caused me trouble with other followers of Erastil and many druids hate my family, we deserve it of course but I'm trying to undo the decades of hatred and resentment that was caused by our actions.

I wouldn't mind getting in, if it's still possible. I had an idea for a character I'd like to play. Based on your questions, here's what I'm thinking:
Stats:
Name: Wylock Uziel
Race: Elf
Class: Investigator
Archetype: Empiricist
Faction: Sovereign Court
Alignment: Lawful Good
Favoured Class: Alchemist(Which he is not currently)
AC: 16(14 flatfooted)

Skills: Craft(Alchemy): +10, Perception: +6, Disable Device: +6, Intimidate: +9, Knowledge: History +9, Knowledge(Arcana): +10, Knowledge(Engineering) +10, Knowledge(Nobility): +9, Profession(City Watch Investigator): +4, Sense Motive: +4, Knowledge(Local) +9

Equipment:
Alchemy Crafting Kit: 25 GP

60 crossbow bolts(6 GP)
Dagger(-1 to hit, d4 damage) 2 GP
Outfit - Dilettantes: 20 GP

Spells known:
Level 1: Save DC: 16
Adhesive Spittle(ACG), Heightened Awareness(ACG), Crafter's Fortune(APG),Polypurpose Panacea(UM), See Alignment(UC), Illusion of Calm(UC)
Class Abilities
Inspiration, Trapfinding, Alchemy(Spells and bonuses noted earlier)
Inspiration:
An Investigator is beyond knowledgeable and skilled. He also possesses keen powers of observation and deduction that far surpass the abilities of others. An investigator typically uses these powers to aid in their investigations, but can also use these flashes of inspiration in other situations.
An Investigator has the ability to augment skill checks and ability checks through his brilliant inspiration. The investigator has an inspiration pool equal to 1/2 his investigator level + his intelligence modifier. An investigator's inspiration pool refreshes each day, typically after he gets a restful nights sleep. As a free action, he can expend one use of inspiration from his pool to add 1d6 to the result of that check, including ones where he takes 10 or 20 and before results are revealed. An investigator can only use inspiration once per check or roll. The investigator can use inspiration on any Knowledge, Linguistics or Spellcraft skill checks without expending a use of inspiration, provided he's trained in the skill.
Inspiration can also be used on attack rolls and saving throws, at the cost of expending two uses of inspiration each time from the investigator's pool. In the case of saving throws, using inspiration is an immediate action rather than a free action.
Trapfinding: The Investigator adds 1/2 his level(Minimum 1) to all Perception and Disable Device checks to find and/or disable traps. An Investigator can disable magical traps.
"Why should the swordlords trust you with this important job?"
One of the most brilliant minds there is and a highly successful former member of the city watch, Wylock is a known quantity. He understands politics, historical treatise' on the failures and successes of nations past and his insight in to the nobility is second to none.
More importantly, he understands the seedy underbelly of local politics and can find information on the more truculent and less cooperative members of the establishment.
"How do you plan to set up a new nation and establish the trust and loyalty of the people?"
A true renaissance man with a determination born of being just pig-headed stubborn, Wylock is a bit naive. He wouldn't stoop to bribery, but would instead submit his(Unsolicited, but probably irritatingly correct) advice on laws, aqueduct building and city-planning to create a true feudal utopia.
Perhaps more concretely, his investigative skills and dogged determination to find out everything about those who stand in his way, coupled with a glare that would belong on a constable from Les Miserables can serve to remove those who stand in the way without violence.
"What sorts of religious and legal strictures do you think should be part of a new nation?"
All nations must be bound by law that no monarch is above. There must be obligations, forbiddings and geasa for every citizen from the greatest to the least. As a people is bound to its monarch, so the monarch to its people.
There must be sensible limitations on the powers of governance - No man may be imprisoned or his property stripped without reason. No fiefdom may be forged without monarchs leave. There must be consequences for breaking of these laws without cause. Historically, nations have fallen when things such as these have been broken.
"Do you have particular plans and goals? Why should the swordlords support those goals?"
Wylock is not stupid. Far from it. He knows that typical governance involves lots of rhetoric with no real action and that this is what most people typically want.
This is unacceptable to Wylock. He wants this new nation to succeed for all levels of society.
Playing someone who is more intelligent than myself means I'll probably just steal ideas wholeheartedly from people smarter than myself. Wylock will be using ideas from Plato's Republic, John Locke, the Magna Carta and anything where smart political thinkers gave ideas on what made a good society.
If the Swordlords want a stable society, they need someone like Wylock.
"Do you have a criminal background? Is there anything we should know now that might cause problems later in your political future if it were to get out to the public?"

Somewhat entertainingly enough, I ALMOST submitted a Gnome Rogue, instead of Carrack, but, the next rogue I play, I'd like to run him as an Unchained Rogue. Hearing your request for no unchained classes, I let him sit on the sidelines this time, despite the links to KM he already has from a prior game.
Looking forward to seeing how things turn out!

Shandor is a human male that stands five foot ten inches tall, with shoulder length silver hair that curls slightly on the ends. He has a very light complexion and is currently unshaven, which has resulted in a long flowing beard that hangs to the middle of his chest. He appears to be in his early fifties and constantly has a complex look on his face. Once in a grate while he finds a moment of clarity, followed by a light case of dementia. Shandor is clumsy, forgetful, and lazy at times. He will use his age as a crutch to get out of work and has no problem accepting charity from others. That being said, Shandor can be caring, loyal, and compassionate. He feels most comfortable in his hand-stitched patchwork robe, which he crafted out of various colored fabrics that he collected in his youth. Each patch of fabric holds a unique story, when he can remember where it came from.
Shandor has become only a fragment of his former self. A sharpened mind set firmly within a damaged shell. His years of academic training has withered to the damage of the mindfire disease.
Although Shandor still retains a lot of his former academics, at times he tends to be forgetful. His ultimate goal is to regain his lost understanding of magic.
After graduating from the Stone of Seers academic school of magic, Shandor Zindelo managed to live up to the schools ambitious expectations by successfully exploring the Southern parts of Varisia and documenting over 250 unique discoveries. Many of those discoveries are currently being displayed in the Capital District of Magnimar at the Museum of Ages. He spent over five years studding with the Order of Cyphers in Riddleport and eventually developed a strong working relationship between the Order and the school. By age 43, Shandor contracted a severe case of Mindfire that eventually robbed him of his sensibility. After the affliction took its toll, Shandor found himself aimlessly wondering the streets of Magnimar with no memory of his past, and very little understanding of his present. Once the school’s master found out about Shandor’s condition, he had the old wizard rounded up and brought to the temple of Abadar. After successfully treating the disease, the acolytes were able to remove the condition but were unable to restore the wizard’s memory. Over the next seven years Shandor traveled the world in an attempt to regain his grasp on reality. On his fiftieth birthday, he felt he had regained enough of his memory to start over and begin a new chapter in his life.
(I stand here, staring aimlessly at my reflection in this decrepit mirror. The face looking back at me is old, withered, and without substance. The man in the mirror trembles with fatigue and I feel every shudder. He wears an old patchwork robe, made from splotches of various colored cloth. I can tell by the care spent sewing the garment, that each fragment has meaning, yet I can’t remember anything of its history. I watch with anticipation as the old man hardens himself with resolve and I wonder if commitment alone will be enough. I know he lacks the strength to hold his own, yet I know he will try. I realize this is his last chance. His last opportunity to regain what was lost. Hopefully someone will find value in what he has to offer.)

Wow, lots of applications, and good ones too. I don't envy Jesse the task of picking just five... I've reviewed my character; haven't answered the set of questions, but I think the background and explanation should give a good impression. GM, if you have any questions, please ask.
Good luck to everyone who applied!

John Mac |
I would love to get in on this!
I am very much decided on making an Ifrit, and strongly considering a support(ish) paladin. Gonna roll it up.
I am however also toying with a bard, but I shall make a choice ASAP. Gonna post as soon as I can! :D
As this is a Kingmaker game, if you're interested in being a Bard we could work out a backstory together depending on your race. I'm angling to eventually be the Spymaster of the new nation(Actually the head of a Scotland Yard/Pinkerton-style secret police).
In fact, if anybody else is looking to talk about possible story hooks, let me know!

I'm super busy today, coincidentally. I'll try to update tonight and check tomorrow to make sure nobody was missed.
Tony_Sinclair, I can't find your character's name.
Sorry to hear you are busy, I was just curious if alternative racial traits from the pathfinder compatible Advanced Race Centaur supplement I recently purchased. I can send you the race specifics.

Tony_Sinclair |

The GM hasn't updated it since last night, so mine isn't either. When did you finish your character?
He does need to sleep and go to work. ;)
Sorry, I didn't mean for it to come off like me being mean,
I finished 2 days ago
Tony_Sinclair, I can't find your character's name.
Is it not Tony Sinclair? I thought I put it in the stat spoiler...
