Thinking that the loudest voices on a forum have an effect on whether a game is actually fun seems to be silly and/or wishful thinking. All games have screenshots, blogs and videos showing the actual game play. Most have official reviews. Some, like PFO have a free trial. Whether someone on a forum says "this is the best thing since sliced bread!" really loud, or someone else shouts "This is worse than a high school project" has really little effect on the success of a game. If it is fun, people will come. If it fails it is because most people did not think it was fun. ![]()

Hmmm. Coincidence that the guide lists the potential value of an account as $1000 and that is his EBay buyout? ![]()

And responses like this one are why I don't post here anymore. But to answer your ridiculous question, I think they probably should have announced some compensation or at least addressed the matter when they announced the change. Again, Business/Marketing 101. ![]()

I understand it. You understand it. But the real question is, did the devs understand it when they came up with the business plan? I have never seen a company sell boxes to their game and then cancel the need for it before the game even fully launches. I would imagine there is some potential for really bad PR based on the number of people who pledged during the Kickstarter and may have decided to just wait for Open Enrollment. Are those folks being compensated in some way? I think this is a sign that something is fundamentally wrong with the dev's perception of the market. Don't get me wrong, it's better not to have it. The box charge was crazy to even attempt, but folks running an MMO should have realized that from the beginning and not need folks on a bunch of forums to point it out to them. ![]()
Sure it is Bludd. The Settlements were GRANTED to specific accounts by GW. Only 33 people were given this luxury benefit. GW should reassign it to an active player/settlement. Nobody should benefit monetarily because of that. Sell your account for all you want. Those were all fair game and ANYONE could have bought a Kickstarter package. Only 33 people got settlements and those were picked by GW... ![]()
This is a bundled sale of 2 accounts. The first account is 1/2 of a Crowdforger Buddy Kickstarter Pledge. It contains 2 Destiny's Twin Characters with full XP. Character #1 has no points spent and roughly 300,000 XP for the buyer to spend as he/she chooses. Character #2 has spent roughly 90,500 XP (Fighter/Rogue Longbow) with roughly 209,000 FREE XP left to spend. This character also has a number of feats complete for faster leveling if you should choose and a bank with spells, recipies and resources (all will come with the account). Reward Quantity
Now as you will see it shows Adventurer Reward Tier 2. One of those accounts sold last week. The second one will be sold as part of this bundle. So that means you will have ANOTHER Destiny's twin account to use yourself or give to a friend. So to summarize, this auction is for 2 bundled accounts both are Destiny's Twin accounts. one account has backdated XP, and the other is fresh waiting for you to create/name as you wish. That is a total of 4 character slots. Given the unique nature of this sale, I am asking for a MINIMUM of $300 starting bid. Only increments of $10 or greater will be accepted (sorry the last one was going up $1-$2 a time and was too confusing). Bidding will be via PM on these forums (or publicly posted in this thread if you prefer). I will update as bids are received. This auction will run until 12 Noon EASTERN on Saturday 5/9. Sale will be completed via paypal. Buyout offers will be considered and if accepted will immediately end the auction. ![]()
He didn't claim the game was growing. He said his settlement is. I have never even interacted with him in game, but just reading his posts would lead me to believe that if ANY settlement were to grow, his would have as good a chance as any. If the guy says his settlement is growing, and you aren't even in the game, why do you feel compelled to thread crap on him? ![]()
The benefit of this one is that it is an add on from the Kickstarter so it is literally not created yet. The purchaser can create his/her own account, and pick the characters names, races etc. In return you have lost out on the XP from the last few months, but as a longterm play some might rather have their characters fully be theirs . It's also nearly $200 cheaper which is a good thing :) ![]()
I have one unused Adventurer Enrollment package. This is a great opportunity because it will allow you to create your OWN account form scratch and have the Destiny's Twin perk. Unlike other recent auctions, these are unmade characters so pick your own race, pick your own names... As far as I know, this was ONLY offered as part of the Kickstarter and no new ones will ever be available. This account is being offered for $300. No auction. Please PM on this forum. Similar to prior closed deals, I will send an invoice via Paypal to your provided Email address. Once payment is received I will send the Adventurer Enrollment Package. Please be sure to follow the GW blog for activating DT accounts as it can be tricky and as you will be making this account it is incumbent upon you to follow their steps. ![]()
I have 4 accounts but am looking to sell one. This is as good as you shall find. It is 1/2 of a crowdforger buddy with Destiny's Twin. NEITHER character has spent any training points, both are PRISTINE with FULL backdated XP!!! Yes, each has 258650 XP and counting. So you would get to start today and catch up with everyone else who has played from day 1. Reward Quantity
I believe it has 1 full month of free game time as I created the characters near the last day you were able to and still get backdated XP. (Not sure how to check) Serious offers only. As I believe this is a rare opportunity I will start bidding at $400. Bidding will run until 4/25. I reserve the right to end the bidding at any time if I receive an offer and choose to immediately accept. Highest amount will not necessarily win if you are a new account with nobody to vouch for you. If no minimum bid is reached I will withdraw and repost in a few months. Bidding will be via PM on this form. ![]()

My point is that the folks that backed in the Kickstarter would seem to be the most obvious place to find people who would like to play this game. Perhaps you forget that it wasn't just $15 to "get in a year early" when they made their pledges. It was going from $35 to $100. So to turn your negativity into a positive: What is more likely?A person who ALREADY pledged $35.. gets a free trial and upgrades by spending the extra $15 A person who has never pledged or really followed PFO getting a free trial and paying $50 to join? And it's not even a question of choosing one or the other. There is no reason you can't do both. ![]()
I posted this elsewhere... but I think GW should extend the trial to those Kickstarter Backers who's pledge only gets them Open Enrollment. These are people who ALREADY showed an interest in the game and put money towards supporting it. The idea of excluding them from the test process is one that really makes me raise an eyebrow... ![]()

Those are not mutually exclusive... The issue is that the mechanics are only half implemented. Guilds and settlements are supposed to be able to feud with each other (factions too eventually). It's resulted in a strange "between" state where pretty much nobody is happy except maybe the murder hobos who just want to kill everyone. GW probably would have been better off not even implementing PvP yet, but it is such a core part of the game they couldn't declare MVP without it. ![]()
The current PvP implementation doesn't seem to make ANYONE happy. I know it's placeholder but I really think they need to hurry up and get the guild/settlement wars stuff in soon. Right now the OP has a point, and if that changes sometime in the future and it becomes significantly harder to farm in Monster Hexes then it's just going to be harder for new folks to catch up... ![]()

Nevermind :) Accounts that have already been assigned an Enrollment status (Platinum, Early, Explorer or Open) are not eligible to activate Buddy Invites Was hoping to let them get in and try it. They tried a few months ago but thought the game needed a lot more time to be ready for them.
