Players, I've posted a thread to talk about the new blog on the goblinworks.com forums!

Well, now I need to try and get some of my snobbish friends into it, I guess...

Could I send these to one of my friends who has a Kickstarter Adventurer account but has not activated it yet? If they used the code would it then automatically activate their Adventurer account after 15 days?

Remember to start with the one that you know will extend his/her account so you get the free time and two new invites. Then you will be able to give one invite to another high-probability friend and the other to lower-probability friend... And then follow the pattern...

Nevermind :)

Accounts that have already been assigned an Enrollment status (Platinum, Early, Explorer or Open) are not eligible to activate Buddy Invites

Was hoping to let them get in and try it. They tried a few months ago but thought the game needed a lot more time to be ready for them.

I love the idea of the program, but I just can't invite people without a bit more spit and polish. Maybe sometimes surrounding the cataclysm will be that point!

but rest assured GW, those buddy invites won't collect dusk forever!

@atheory I have similar thoughts (i.e. Me too!).

Yea it's just too early to use these. The game needs to be more newbie friendly, especially when it comes to how keywords work and what benefits you get out of them. I will definitely encourage my friends to join in a few months or however long it takes to get some of these things in the game! I'm just afraid at this point people will get frustrated, leave, and never come back.

I think it is a good program, and using/redeeming a buddy-invite is the same process as using/redeeming an Adventurer-reward, so I know the proces will be smooth and painless.

I agree with the above posters though that I will not be sending anything out just now.

There are a few things that need to change before I think the game will be able to retain any new players, and those things are not about graphics.

The people that we will be sending invites too are not pioneers or early enrollers, they just want to get an early taste of something that's fun. Unless these people are crafters and harvesters, the fun is not there yet.

I will try to make a post about these issues later, when the morning has past, and I am less Hyde and more Dr. Jekyll.

me too

I know two people who will be longterm players if they enjoy the game initially

but the Keywords have to be fully explained ingame and I don't even think I could answer their questions about them (i.e. the "precise" as attack mod AND keyword is still over my head lolz) because i am holding XP and gear expenditure myself until i understand them fully
