Good choice of words to match the good roll, Galinndan. Buppido calms down and whispers "You're right! And those pesky worshipers and coveters can be such an annoyance." He goes to the middle of the boat and clasps his hands in glee while sitting cross-legged and smiling at everyone around him. 25 xp for Galinndan!
What are you asking/attempting? Buppido dances about madly on the deck of the raft, dancing and swaying while yelling like a crazy derro. "I have brought us to the cavern of beautiful shininess!!!" You fear his antics could upset the raft or draw unwanted attention. Some form of social check would be wise here.
Galinndan, you already had inspiration but you would have just gotten some more. Galinndan searches for food and a place to rest as the group proceeds. Unfortunately, the group is getting farther and farther from the river and edible fungi are becoming rarer and rarer. Regarding a place to stay, he finds nothing more ideal than the passages through which the group wanders. As he searches, the Derro comes up to him and begins a conversation in Undercommon. "You know, I like you. You don't care what it takes to do something. You just do it! It's wonderful!!! Stab him right under the jaw! Just as I planned." Buppido's NPC Card!: 1/minute: Buppido cuts a mad caper around you, laughing maniacally the whole time. Force a single attack roll against you to be made with disadvantage. 1/day: Buppido charges madly at an opponent, screaming his odd and completely confident war-cry. His reckless charge forces a creature no more than 2 sizes larger than him to use its reaction and all of its movement to move 10 feet out of the way. The creature chooses the direction in which they move. Inspiration: Buppido’s madness can be contagious. Force one creature that can see, hear, and understand Buppido to make a DC 16 wisdom save or gain one level of madness.
Everyone regains all their hit points and half their hit die (minimum of 1) after a long rest. Ront continues to get angrier and angrier that his bonds persist. He pulls and pulls with his arms outstretched Strength check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 and snaps the annoying chains. Derendil sees this and attempts to imitate Ront Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Getting in the spirit of things, Buppido proclaims I will now demonstrate my power! Dex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 The Derro accidentally pokes himself in the eye while attempting to escape. It is not within my plans to rid myself of these decorations at this time!! He beams cheerily.
The derro elaborately pulls his thumbs into a tight punch with the rest of his fingers, holds his wrists at a weird angle, and attempts to slide his hands out of the manacles Dexterity check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 with no success whatsoever. After a minute or so of trying, he replies. Undercommon:
It is not yet time for me to slip these bonds! I await exactly the right moment. He smiles and nods confidently.
The Derro, very offended at the Drow's words, falls silent for a moment. After the action is over, he stands up and sticks a thumb in his own chest. Undercommon:
That is what happens to those who doubt the mighty Buppido! FYI, many the npcs have been speaking to you in Undercommon this whole time. I'll be more careful to denote that but many of you speak Undercommon so it's not a big barrier.
Feel free to look at other players' spoilers. Just remember to keep player knowledge and character knowledge separate until a teammate fills you in on something, which may be as simple as saying "I tell them what I saw." Slave pen: The Derro rubs his hands in glee. Yes, oh yes. My plans are all coming to fruition, as I foresaw. My power will lead us forth from this place.
