Welcome Maggie Gallagher, Director of People And Culture

Friday, January 28, 2021

We are thrilled to welcome Maggie Gallagher as our new Director of People and Culture. Maggie’s experience and skillset are a perfect fit for Paizo, and we think that her personality; her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and her passion for strong relationships truly make her the right person for our company today.

So, let’s let Maggie introduce herself.

“I come to Paizo with over 20 years of HR experience in fields including biomedical repair, software engineering, and various theaters and operas,” “While a true HR generalist, my passions are in diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have worked with numerous organizations in helping them implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and initiatives that advance organizational and cultural change by ensuring DEI considerations are incorporated in all aspects of the decision-making process.”

Maggie has also served as an instructor, volunteer, and presenter for several LGBTQ+ organizations. For the past five years, she has focused on groups and organizations that actively advocate for the rights of transgender individuals.

“Outside of work, I enjoy wandering the wilderness, fishing, and canoeing. As much as I love the outdoors, I am a true nerd at heart. I have been playing RPGs and Tabletop games for over 30 years, so I am very excited to be joining the Paizo team.”

Maggie can be reached via email at maggie.gallagher@paizo.com.

Welcome.
That the title was changed from "Human Resources" - which I personaly find a little disrespectuful - is a very good sign.

What was strange for a moment is the fact that there is another Maggie Gallagher out there who seems to be the opposite of the one mentioned here.

Maggie's focuses on LGBT rights (and transgender rights in particular) and DEB make this a very hopeful inclusion to the team. I hope that this is a sign of things to come. Welcome aboard Maggie!

Gallgher inherits a pretty impressive mess; I don’t envy her.

Fingers crossed this leads to good for the workers.

Welcome!

I'm curious what your reporting structure is, if you are allowed to tell us.

Who do you report to? Who do you supervise? Are you on the Executive Team?

Sounds like a step in the right direction! Welcome Maggie!

Welcome Ms. Gallagher! I truly hope you are a step in the right direction for Paizo. Please don't hold it against me/us if I am little more than cautiously optimistic. You see, Paizo has repeatedly conducted themselves poorly when it comes to employee and community relations and promised improvements that have not come to fruition. These issues stem from the very people responsible for hiring you. I hope you can understand how that is going to be looked at with a very critical eye. We are looking for action and results, not more promises. Good luck and best wishes for success!

Welcome to the fold...

I think there's a joke off of old X-Men covers I could drum up here, but that might be tempting fate...
