Dear friends,

It was just about a year ago that we announced the Complete Character Chronicles Kickstarter, our first foray into the world of Pathfinder. Thank you so much for supporting us, believing in us, and backing us.

The road has been a little more challenging than we expected, what with a worldwide pandemic and all, but we're excited to announce that with the Kickstarter elements almost complete, the Paizo + Beadle & Grimm's partnership is ready to take some big steps forward.

So... what's new?

If there were a way to replace the Sub Version with this I might be interested.

Seconded is there a way to upgrade the subbed version without canceling then resubbing during that time?

This is a separate product made by our licensed partner and not associated with subscriptions. It will also be produced after the original product is released.

I am so looking forward to these character books!

The class pins are a pleasant surprise, one I'm highly looking forward to.

I really want to see the Class Icons made into Hero Point points. These are about the closest thing to having physical versions of those symbol, and I love them.

I’ve bought every Beadle and Grimms set for D&D and they’ve all been amazing.

So glad you guys are supporting Pathfinder as well.

Will these be available on the Paizo website? Would love for them to ship with my subscriptions with international shipping being such a mess at the moment

Beadle and Grimms have a non US hub (in great britain I think).

So bear in mind it might be easier to go direct depending on where you are.

I had a lost package and they were fantastic at sorting things out for me.

I have SO many T-shirts. Once you guys have these in long sleeved shirts, please let me know. Also don't want to read PFS2 #3-02 a day before I run it online. Paizo, please release this one week earlier for the rest of us who don't have access to the scenario.

As a subscriber, this leaves me with a lot of negative feelings. I don't want to wait longer on a book, that's part of why I subscribe, but then I miss out on the additional collectibles unless I repurchase a book I already own. If there was a way to incorporate this into the subscription I would greatly appreciate it. For now, I'm going to have to pass on these sorts of offerings.

I never saw any Beadle and Grimm's product as targeted at anyone wanting to save money, given their prices.

For me it's not about saving money, I'll happily pay the premium, it's about getting the book on release and not having to purchase a second copy that I'll never use.

We can work with them to tighten up the timelines, but it is their product not ours, so it will not be a part of our subscription. It is a premium collector's edition, sold separately and after that initial product. We appreciate the feedback, as always.

It is nice to know it is coming ahead of time. But as you mention, it is a 'premium' product being produced by another vendor, base on your product... not actually one of your products, so it makes it harder to integrated in too much into your subscription process.

As I'm sure the timeline will push it back, and there is of course the added question of the PDF version. I did end up asking myself, if it was something that we could opt-in for as part of the Lost Omens subscription. Or if someone knew they were going to get that version, if they could pause/cancel that book, but not lose the subscription benefits by doing so?

Otherwise seems like if you want to make sure you get the PDF (is the B&G one going to have a tier that offers a copy of the PDF?) you need to keep the subscription, get the pdf and book at normal time and then plan to sell the non-collectors version when you get your other copy, or if you can afford to just keep the original as a players' copy around your table?

It does bring up these questions and desires, but I'm happier learning it was coming out before the original comes out so I can make an educated decision, instead of it perhaps being announced after I got the subscription version delivered, for instance.

So some decisions aren't fun to make, but at least giving us the necessary information to make the decision ahead of time is appreciated. Kind of wished B&G's information on it wasn't behind a submit and email to get on the list to learn about it though. That may not be _entirely_ within Paizo's control however.

Liberty's Edge

Or stop and restart the subscription and just buy the pdf on its own.

Easiest would be for B&G's product to include Paizo's pdf though.

Totally understand and appreciate the info. Just wanted to provide my feedback. Not sure that there's really any way to satisfy everyone unless there's a move to offer future products through Paizo's site. It also doesn't help that the process of pausing and restarting a sub has to go through customer service and personally if I pause one sub then I lose my discount on other products so it feels like a no-win scenario.

One thing they usually do is to break a book up into multiple, stand-alone soft covers.

I’m not suggesting anyone should necessarily buy both (although I usually do). Just making a point that although the text is the same, the layout/compilation is likely to be different. I’d imagine a standalone book for each district, for example, maybe a book of NPCs…that kind of thing.

For me, it usually adds value to use both the book and one specific subset of it, bound separately.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that and that sounds pretty cool and useful for this book in particular. It would be nice if they had provided more info on the product with the announcement but maybe all the details aren't worked out yet. The existence of the product itself is a positive sign for the growth of Pathfinder so I'm happy that it's on offer regardless of whether I purchase it or not.

I suspect they can’t fully work out what they’re going to do until they know the final form of the regular book.

Are there plans to add the rest of the PF classes to these books?

They plan to. It will take time though.
