Pathfinder Extinction Curse Adventure Path: The Apocalypse Prophet book cover

Beginning January 4, 2021, prices for all Pathfinder Society (second edition) and Starfinder Society scenarios, as well as the Pathfinder Bounties, will increase due to rising production costs. High-level scenarios (level range 7-10 and higher) received an additional increase due to the extra time and attention needed from authors/developers related to added complexity of play at higher levels. To help our community with budgeting costs, we plan to produce no more than one high-level scenario per month across both Pathfinder and Starfinder Society lines.

The changes outlined below apply retroactively to Pathfinder Society (second edition) and Starfinder Society scenarios and the Pathfinder Bounties. Pathfinder Society (first edition) and Pathfinder Adventure Card Game scenarios will not be affected

ProductOld PriceNew PriceNew Subscriber Price
Standard PFS2/SFS Scenario $4.99 $5.99 $4.79
High-Level Scenario $4.99 $6.99 $5.59
Bounty $1.99 $2.99 N/A
Interactive Special $9.99 $9.99 N/A

As always, subscribers will receive a 20% discount off the cover price for new releases in their subscription. Paizo Advantage customers can also receive free subscriptions to one or both lines of Organized Play scenarios.

Again, these changes will take effect January 4, 2021, and will apply to all previous adventures for Starfinder Society and Pathfinder Society (second edition). If you wish to make changes to your subscriptions in light of this information, please email customer.service@paizo.com. Thanks for your understanding!

Until then - Explore, Report, Cooperate!

That's really good value especially when it seems like you have a lot of custom assets. And before anyone says anything despite being a venture agent I do purchase scenarios and adventures for community members to run.

As I know you do your best to pay your writers and artists the best you can, I have no problem with these increases. They are very reasonable.

I experience them as 100 tables all playing the same mega-scenario at a convention together. They. Are. Amazing.

Still a one of the best adventure bargains out there.

I just hope this doesn't create additional barriers for people to run high-level games now. While I personally don't care about the additional cost (and understand its necessity), it seems like there aren't a lot of high-level games out there already.

This won't be affecting the free pfs or sfs with paizo advantage?

Is paizo advantage the same thing as the subscription or a different program?

If anything I'd rather see less production value and editing, which tends to move the scenarios text and images around to get rid of white space and look better as a printed product, but winds up making the scenarios harder to actually run.

"Paizo Advantage" is the discount you get for subscribing to four or more product lines.

Quote:
As a bonus, when you sign up for any four or more qualifying physical Pathfinder or Starfinder subscriptions, you'll qualify to gain access to the Paizo Advantage, which grants you a 15% discount on most products available on paizo.com, and your choice of complimentary Pathfinder or Starfinder Society Scenarios. Sign up for six or more qualifying subscriptions, and you'll get both!

There is also a "grandfathered" Paizo Advantage, for people who were subscribers before PF2 was released and continued those subscriptions for the new edition.

I have no qualms with these increases - especially since due to Covid, we are playing more frequently and the demand is higher. More importantly, artists and writers need our support. If another dollar or two will keep them employed and quality high, happy to pay it.

Just a quick note, I am working on sending this out to subscribers so everyone is notified, but we're discovering the hard way that I don't have a good way to skip emailing the subscribers who are receiving it complimentary with the Paizo Advantage.

Sadly I was already debating canceling as I haven't been using them this year so a price increase just pushed me to go ahead and cancel for now.

Thank you for letting us know.
Could we get a little more clarity on what defines a "High Level Scenario"?
Are these all 12+ scenarios?

Wonderful. Thanks. No matter how many times you read something, you can always look like an idiot in a forum.

I think the quick little adventures are great within or out of organized play. The free PFS sub is one of the big reasons I got the Advantage when PF2 started.

It's pretty easy to guess that the additional money is being given to the creators and production team. Unless there is some bigger "PDFing and serving" costs to defray. Good value and fun to recieve.

I just hope they kind of started to make the images easier to copy paste into VTTs. Since March I have become more pro at Roll20 formatting than I thought I ever would.

Since the apocalypse I've seen a lot of things making it easier to stick things on roll20 that we'd been asking for for a while: separate blank maps and maps with more consistent grid lines.
