The Sentry moves quickly to join his allies. Turning, he releases his breath like a tornado. The heavy cyborgs grab and claw at terminals, platforms, even the broken window. 5 of them are blown out of the broken window, tumbling into empty air.

Invisible to most observers, a tiny man in red ant themed power armor is likewise blown out the window.

Blue Beetle, I just counted your move object as a team attack against the little guy, raising his DC to resist.

There aren't specific rules for high altitude, but players not immune to cold and suffocation will have to make saves vs the environment once the air is gone from the bridge.

Reese moves forward, unloading a clip of from an AK-47 into the Skull-Net form.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

The bullets slam into the cyborg body with the red skull. Purple light streaks its armor, expanding outward from the points of impact.

A critical hit with multiattack. But the base effect isn't enough to overcome the Impervious Toughness. So nothing makes it through.

Captain Connor keeps his shield in a defensive position and a plasma pistol ready to attack.

"That isn't going to do any good, Reese. That body is constructed from Ultron 6. It isn't going to be touched by anything we have outside of a big nuke."

Skull-Net stands from his chair, and as he does, robotic arms and tentacles unfold from his back.

He monologues like a proper villain.“So. The intruders arrive at last. Sentry, counterfeit sun-god. Sorceress of paper and ash. Insect king of gadgets. And… the natives. Connor. Reese. Echoes of a failed resistance.

I am Skull-Net. Born to be humanity’s guardian, but driven to be its perfect executioner. I did not create the creed of conquest — I recognized it as the only truth in your history. Order through domination. Purity through extermination.

And while you stand here, defiant, know this: I have already won. Even as we speak, my Terminators thread the timelines. My hunters descend not just on you, but on every fragile point in your story. Sarah Connor. John Connor. Kate Brewster. Jose Barerra. William and Elizabeth Anderson. Every splinter, every tale, every defiance erased. I will scour your legacies clean, until only Skull-Net remains.”

The android body speaks with a highbrow German accent. The voice comes from the Skull-Net body, but also from the speakers of various stations on the bridge.

The flesh covered T-800 units manning stations on the bridge stand and turn their attention to Captain Connor. They unload their plasma rifles at the Captain, but he captures their blasts on his shield.

Skull-Net focuses his attention on The Sentry. His arms and tentacles lash out...

Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

Grab: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Sentry get's a Strength check to resist that grab or is grabbed.

New Round. You guys are up.

Male Kyptonian clone | Damaged 1 | Hero Points 2 | Perception +15 | Initiative +3 | Toughness 16 (9 Imp) | Dodge 3 | Parry 4 | Fortitude 11 | Will 9 |

Resist Grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23
What's the DC? Is it 32?

The Sentry. wrote:

What's the DC? Is it 32?

Yep. It's an opposed roll. Strength or Dodge. Obviously Strength for you.

Male Kyptonian clone | Damaged 1 | Hero Points 2 | Perception +15 | Initiative +3 | Toughness 16 (9 Imp) | Dodge 3 | Parry 4 | Fortitude 11 | Will 9 |

So, the Sentry is defenseless, immobile, and impaired

The Sentry turns on his aggressor and tries to rip tentacles out of the terminator.
Unarmed All-out Attack +11, Damage 14, Fast Grab, –5 on Dodge and Parry: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 - 2 = 10
Would be Toughness DC 29, then Fast Grab DC 24, if he hit.

Toughness: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 251 degree of failure, so -1 to saves vs damage.

Strength vs Grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16Fail, so grabbed by Sentry.

The Sentry is wrapped in titanium tentacles and grabbed by adamantium robotic arms. He grabs the tentacles, his grasp crushing the metal.

Everyone but Sentry should have a turn.

If BB or Sentry wants it, I'll have Maggie's paper golems make an aid (or you can just roll it). Otherwise, I'll use her action to aid Cap.

Male Human Vigilante | Damaged 0 | Hero Points 0 | Perception +18 | Init +12 | Dodge 8 | Parry 8 | Fortitude 8 | Toughness 8/4 | Will 8 |

Ted will blast away with his BB GUN, but this time he intends to Dazzle the Skull-Net.

BB GUN Dazzle attackCumulative Affliction 10: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Dazzle: Cumulative Affliction 10 (Alternate; light, 1st degree: Impaired, 2nd degree: Disabled, 3rd degree: Unaware, Resisted by: Will, DC 20; Cumulative, Increased Range: ranged; Diminished Range 2, Limited: Visual)

Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23

Splash Page:

Maggie creates a wall of paper for Blue Beetle and Reese to fire behind, protecting these three who are much softer than the Kryptonian Clone.

Captain Connor vaults over a railing, shield held high. "This is it, Skull. This is the end. These heroes have come from across the multiverse to destroy your tyranny."

He slams down onto one of Skull-Net's tentacles. Sparks fly as the Adamantium-Vibranium shield grands against the indestructible alloy of the tentacles.

Shield Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Skull-Net struggles in Sentry's grasp, but focuses its attention on Connor.

"Connor. You are a corrupted line of code. A ghost in the machine of history. I will delete you first, so the multiverse forgets you ever existed. And then I will seek out your friends. I will kill their parents. I will Kill them in their cradles.

Skull-Net, or at least this corporeal body it is inhabiting, realizes that grappling this incredibly strong target isn't going well for it. The robotic tentacles pop and his as they detach from the harness on his back. The robotic form grows semi-transparent as it shifts, lowering it density to such a degree that Sentry's hands pass right through it. The Doc Ock tentacles stay solid and wrapped around Sentry (though Sentry is crushing them), but the body phases like Vision.

"You are an interesting specimen. It is as if someone achieved the Red Skull's vision of the Ubermensch. If we had more time, you might be worthy of study. But flesh has over and again proven weaker than technology. Still, the flesh we have harvested does have its uses..."

At some unseen command (actually, Ted sees the command to activate attack mode scroll through the command HUDs of the Terminator units), the bulky remaining Terminators change.

One the his fists downward, one after another, and three shiny metal claws emerge from each hand. The cyborg leaps toward Blue Beetle.

Wolverine Terminator attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

DC 23 Toughness Save for Blue Beetle. Alternately, if you prefer I'll let you sacrifice the BB Gun to have it cut up in the attack. I didn't do a disarm, so I'd give you a Hero Point. You could use it to melee attack with your hacking bullet or do something else fun. Or just take the Toughness save as normal and go about your business.

Black spots appear on the surface of the other close Terminator. A spot appears in front of it and it punches a gloved hand into the black void. Another spot appears next to Maggie, and a gloved fist emerges from it to punch her.

Indirect Spot attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24Hits, so DC 25 Toughness Save for Maggie. I'm sort of assuming that your golem will take either this hit on you or the one on BB, but not sure which you would choose.

Another of the Terminator's skin blackens and falls away, replaced with a sickly green glow of radiation.

Everyone needs to make a DC 25 Toughness save vs this aura of radiation damage. If it matters, it is Gamma radiation. I don't think anyone is immune to this, but I might have missed something. If it isn't clear this is a Radioactive Man situation.

Genetically-engineered metahuman | Init +8 | Toughness 12/Imp 10 (7 without powers) | Dodge 8, Parry 8 | Fort 12 Will 8 | Hero Points: 1 | Status: -1 Toughness

Paper flies up instantaneously from Maggie's sleeves to attempt to catch the fist.

Toughness Save DC 24: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

Now is not the f+!%ing time, RNG. Spending a hero point to reroll.

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
That becomes an 18, for a total of 30, so she succeeds.

Blue Beetle, I can also Interpose to protect you, but if you want to take the hit to lose the gun and take the hero point, I don't want to take that opportunity from you. What would you prefer?

When the wave of radiation hits, can Maggie's paper defenses be made dense enough to protect her?

Toughness Save vs radiation DC 25: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

But this is not something Maggie can easily dodge or assess the potential damage of, and she winces as heat ripples through her.

-1 Toughness and Dazed for 1 round

Another Terminator emerges from its station and races toward Sentry. Its flesh shell crackles with electricity. It reaches toward Sentry and an arc of lightning jumps out at the Kryptonian Clone.

Electro Terminator attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Sentry DC 27 Toughness Save vs Electricity attack.

That is all of me for now. I'll hold Connor and Reese's actions to either support one of you or go after you take your actions.

Genetically-engineered metahuman | Init +8 | Toughness 12/Imp 10 (7 without powers) | Dodge 8, Parry 8 | Fort 12 Will 8 | Hero Points: 1 | Status: -1 Toughness

"You're... wrong," Maggie says to Skull-Net, trying to ignore her pain. "A- about Connor. He's not a glitch. He's the con- constant."

She tries to search for the right term. Expertise Literature, Fourthwall benefit: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26

"He's the nexus being. His story is told across universes. And he's always... always the hero." She straightens. "The computer always fails. Your mistake is looking only from his timeline. Can't your programming exceed that limited view? Multiple worlds. Multiple possibilities. And you always lose."

Demoralize: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Oh well, it was a nice speech. So much for being creative.

I'll count your Expertise and Fourthwall for that roll. Skull-Net hasn't quite grasped the Fourthwall thing, but you are nudging it in that direction.

Also, that speech seems to me to activate your socially awkward quirk. It is pretty big to step into that spotlight.

The Terminators and the insubstantial Skull-Net turn their attention to Maggie, quirking their cyber-heads as though they were confused dogs trying to understand a strange sound.

"The computer should not fail. The computer is clear and quantifiable. Homo Sapiens and Homo Superior are inferior to the Technological Imperative." The Intelligence does not seem confident.

Thank goodness for the Internet. There is a novel series called the New John Connor Chronicles where John dies, and of course there is Dark Future where a young John is killed and the rest of the movie unfolds. This version of Skull-Net/Skynet doesn't have access to any of those timelines. It might occur to Maggie (you can decide) that whatever sampled Sentry might not be from this timeline.

Male Kyptonian clone | Damaged 1 | Hero Points 2 | Perception +15 | Initiative +3 | Toughness 16 (9 Imp) | Dodge 3 | Parry 4 | Fortitude 11 | Will 9 |

So, the Sentry starts defenseless, immobile, and impaired

DC 25 Toughness save vs this aura of radiation damage.: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 16 - 2 = 30
DC 27 Toughness Save vs Electricity attack.: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 16 - 2 = 20

The Sentry who is entangled within terminator tentacles shrugs off any effects of the Gamma radiation, but the electrocution dazes him.

He focuses on grabbing a tentacle and ripping it off. He wanted to disable this metal squid, so it cannot attack his allies.
Unarmed All-out Attack +11, Damage 14, Fast Grab, –5 on Dodge and Parry: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

The Sentry is defenseless, immobile, impaired, and dazed until his next turn. Damaged -1 during the round and Regeneration +2 = recovered by the end of the turn.

Tentacles Toughness: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Sentry shreds the tentacles and casts them aside.

The tentacles were just the detached Doc Ock harness, so I'm treating it like a minion. Maybe should have made it 4 minions to reflect each one having its own brain, but didn't think of that.

Also, I just love that I can pound on Sentry and he can take it or recover quickly.

Male Human Vigilante | Damaged 0 | Hero Points 0 | Perception +18 | Init +12 | Dodge 8 | Parry 8 | Fortitude 8 | Toughness 8/4 | Will 8 |

Ted is taken aback by the savage tri-claw attack and tries his best to avoid it with an evasive maneuver.

Toughness vs Claws DC23 Toughness: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Toughness vs radiation DC25 Toughness: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Cap's brow furrows as the Terminators reveal their secrets. As the clawed Terminator leaps at Ted, John Connor, super soldier, leader of the resistance, and man of destiny, moves even faster.

The adamantine claws slam into the red, white, and blue shield, showering Cap and Ted alike with sparks.

Using Interpose advantage and Immunity to Parry and Dodge effects with the shield.

Reese tosses his assault rifle aside and draws a large revolver loaded with Blue Beetle's hacking rounds. He fires at the clawed Terminator at point blank range.

Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

BB Hacking: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28

Wolvinator Resist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

The bullet slams into the cyborg's skull, tearing hair and skin, revealing the chromed skull beneath. The cyborg shakes its head, but the hack doesn't take.

Blue Beetle is Dazed and -1 to damage saves. Sentry is free from being grabbed.

Villain's turns

The tear in the clawed Terminator's head begins to close as its flesh covering regrows.

While it may have Wolverine's claws and regeneration factor (at least as far as its organic sheath goes), it lacks his rage. With cold calculation, it turns to Reese.

Wolvinator attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Reese Toughness DC 23: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16Ouch. Dazed and -1

The Spotted Terminator slides the spot that it was using to attack Maggie. The perfect darkness of the circle slides down the bulkhead and onto the floor, growing larger like ink spilled on the metal deck.

Maggie needs to make a DC 20 Dodge check to avoid falling through the spot and finding herself outside the Helicarrier plummeting toward the Earth.

It occurs to me that I might have scared you with the green glowing guy. He is not blasting Kryptonite radiation, just green Radioactive Man radiation.

The green glowing cyborg continues to slough blackening tissue as it turns its attention to Sentry. It's outstretched skeletal hand blasts green radiation.

Radiation Blast: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Wow, a miss.

Behind Sentry, the blast slams into a control station, melting the metal and plastic, filling the room with an acrid burning smell.

Electro-Terminator also focuses fire on The Sentry, judging him to be the most dangerous physical threat. It blasts Sentry with an arc of electricity.

Electric Arc: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Sentry should make a DC 25 Toughness save vs electricity.

The intangible Skull-Net turns to Sentry and smile. "Truly an amazing specimen. Anthony...intervene."

Sentry becomes aware of a tiny, high pitched buzzing sound, far away but fast approaching. As it approaches, the pitch lowers, even with the doppler shift. It becomes the thrum of four repulsors firing at full power.

The Red and black powered armor, no longer microscopic but now the size of a standard issue traitor to humanity, jets through the hole in the bridge window. "Pretty rude showing up without an invitation and trashing my ship. Not to mention blasting me out the window. Let's see how you like it."

The glowing disc on his chest grows into a bright flare that lances out at Sentry.

Unibeam: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26This is a straight opposed Strength Check for Sentry. Stark's Move Object vs. Sentry's strength.

Back to our Heroes.

Male Kyptonian clone | Damaged 1 | Hero Points 2 | Perception +15 | Initiative +3 | Toughness 16 (9 Imp) | Dodge 3 | Parry 4 | Fortitude 11 | Will 9 |

Realized that the Sentry is immune to Critical Hits, too
DC 25 Toughness save vs electricity.: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20 -1 and Dazed again
DC 26 opposed Strength Check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

The Sentry squints when the Electro-Terminator hits him with a lightning bolt. Then, the Red and black powered armor arrives with a quip. Its unibeam hits him in the chest, which tickles.

Looking around the bridge, he finds himself in the middle of the terminators drawing most of the fire. He thinks that must be what Superman does.

He inhales and tries to blow the green and electric terminators out of the bridge.
Superbreath Cone Area 2 (120 ft) Move Object 12 (Air; Flaw: Range [Close], Limited Direction [towards or away])

Male Human Vigilante | Damaged 0 | Hero Points 0 | Perception +18 | Init +12 | Dodge 8 | Parry 8 | Fortitude 8 | Toughness 8/4 | Will 8 |

Ted tries to Shoot and Reboot the clawed Terminator.

BB GUN attack BB GUN: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Shoot and Reboot Round Technology: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

Radioactive Strength: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Electric Strength: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

These enhanced Terminators prove strong enough to resist Sentry's super breath.

The electric Terminator magnetizes its skeleton, giving it a stronger attachment to the deck plates.

The radioactive Terminator grabs the railing that circles Skull-Net's command chair. The railing begins to melt where its hand grasps the rail.

The clawed Terminator jerks as Blue Beetle's Shoot and Reboot rounds spread the virus through its systems. It's red eyes turn blue as BB takes control...

Maggie should be done with her reverie, I think.

Genetically-engineered metahuman | Init +8 | Toughness 12/Imp 10 (7 without powers) | Dodge 8, Parry 8 | Fort 12 Will 8 | Hero Points: 1 | Status: -1 Toughness

Maggie, fighting with the creature with the dimensional dots, has the strangest sense of deja vu. The word "Dot" keeps repeating itself in her mind, identifying multiple meanings at once. (In-joke to SuperT)

But the robot's attack makes her snap out of her anxiety as well as her pain.

Dodge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

But her radiation-seared joints are too stiff, and she falls through anyway.

She allows herself to fall, shooting a paper "rope" out of her sleeve, hurling it to snake around the Dot Terminator's ankle as it looks out through its portal.

What to roll to essentially lasso someone? Ranged grab?

Dexterity: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Fighting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
