Thevenin discovers nothing more than the frail countenance of the gnome ship captain. Fail
Razzm discovers that Troyus is frustrated of their situation because of boredom. Intimidating him is not the best course of action, as it will make him more irritable. Giving him a task to do might help ease the boredom he is feeling. Setting a task in front of him lowers all following checks’ DCs by 2. Any skill check will be allowed as long as justified by roleplay and what is asked of the NPC.
Shalosar tries to heal Razzm after taking damage from his performance in front of the captain but he fails to heal him.
Malark gives his best to entertain the captain. He can see that the captain smiles weakly, somewhat enjoying the scene of performance. Success, 1 Influence Point to Fidero. The captain manages to whisper “Parkit…Parkit is the one…”, as if remembering something while watching the performance before losing strength.
The cook Marda is happy that somebody is asking about her cooking. "Well, being always in the sea limits my options, but I cook different fish that can be broiled, and if we are lucky, we can feast with lobsters and crabs!" she tells the kobold happily. Success, 1 Influence Point for Marda "How about you and your friends stay here for a meal," she says. I've been running out of mouths to feed lately." she adds with dark humor on it.
While Ebiten is having a nice conversation with Pog who tells him that everyone is bored, every week returns to where they have been and what they are doing, well except for those who have been gone because of the demon dogs. On the side, Ebiten finds that Troyus needs some direction to give him motivation and bring him out of boredom. Setting a task in front of him lowers all following checks’ DCs by 2. Any skill check will be allowed as long as justified by roleplay and what is asked of the NPC.

Malark joins Marda, the cook offering him some meals of recently caught milkfish. "Be careful eating that, but I deboned it as much as a I can." she says and shares that she has this secret ingredient to complement the salty taste and remove the fishy smell. 1 Influence Point to Marda "If you are curious to know, though I am not trying to speak ill of anyone on board, but I think Arjol Parkit has something to do with missing passengers," she says as if spilling some tea.
Thevenin calls Troyus to do something, and obediently helps the leshy to lift and see over the railing. 2 Influence Points to Troyus Troyus then off-handedly tells Thevenin something, "Landlubbers aboard a ship never bodes well. After all, that was the cause of our troubles in here the first place. The ship was sailing past Xin-Edasseril when the strangeness started, but I know nothing of that city’s reappearance. I suspect Arjol Parkit is somehow involved with the time-loop."
Marda is too busy to prepare everyone's meal to entertain Zornesk, but the cook also gives the kobold his meal to eat. "Sorry, hands full. Would you mind helping me?" Fail to Influence
Ebiten finds nothing unusual about the captain, except for being too weak and having very sad countenance. Fail to Discover
Razzm challenges the deckhand with a game, Troyus finding it enjoyable. He tries his best to get past the bar without hurting himself of course. 1 Influence Point for Troyus

Troyus (male human shiphand): 3

Pog (male goblin stowaway): 4
Captain Fidero (male gnome ship captain): 2
2. Troyus explains the situation aboard the Tide. He confirms that the Tide was sailing past Xin-Edasseril when the strangeness started, but he knows nothing of that city’s reappearance. Rather, he suspects Arjol Parkit is somehow involved with the time-loop.
3. Marda invites the PCs to stay for a meal and mentions (with black humor) that she’s been running out of mouths to feed lately.
4. Marda explains the situation aboard the Tide. Though reluctant to speak ill of anyone, she suspects the ship’s passenger, Arjol Parkit, has something to do with the missing crew members.
5. Pog is delighted to make some new friends. He hopes out loud that the PCs don’t end up “like the others.”
6. Pog explains the situation but remains skeptical that things need to change. He’s fond of the friends he’s made aboard the Tide and is scared to lose them—everyone except Arjol Parkit, that is.
7. Pog admits he remembers Arjol walking alongside the “demon dog” that has been the killing the crew. Thankfully, Arjol mostly keeps to his cabin.
8. Fidero manages to whisper “Parkit…Parkit is the one…” before losing strength.
What are you going to do next? It looks like a certain Arjol Parkit is involved on what is happening to them, but your group haven't seen him yet.

![]() |

"Agreed, let's go have a little chat with him..." Razzm replies grimly. The idea of murdered crew members appears not to agree with him.
GM, do I still have any damage sustained from the earlier jump from the crow's nest? If so, I'll ask someone to try patching me up before we visit Arjol.

Ebiten nods at Shalosar's suggestion, Yeah. I think that would help clear things up...
Just checking that we are congregating to share what was learned? Just want to be sure, before I check the spoiler tag. ^_^

GM Frost |

I'm assuming that I can't influence the cook again?"
Unfortunately, yes. The time is over to Influence them over at this point. You have influenced them enough to give you some leads, anyway.
GM, do I still have any damage sustained from the earlier jump from the crow's nest? If so, I'll ask someone to try patching me up before we visit Arjol.
I do not have stats about the height of crow's nest of the ship you are at, let says it is 30 ft, so you took 15 B damage with your Cat Fall feat. If anyone wants to heal, we can just retcon it. The last time you were healed was a failure though.
Just checking that we are congregating to share what was learned? Just want to be sure, before I check the spoiler tag. ^_^
I assume you will meet at some point to discuss what your group has found so far, and anyone can open the spoiler from my last post.
----
The group can easily ask anyone where they can find Arjol Parkit. One of the crew points you to his cabin. Upon arrival, you find that the cabin is locked. You can Pick the Lock with three successful DC 18 Thievery checks or Force it Open with a DC 22 Athletics check.

![]() |

If someone is able to heal Razzm would welcome being patched up. He's down 15.
Earlier...
Before the group descends to Arjol's cabin, Razzm yawns several times and decides to curl up for a quick cat nap. After napping for 10 minutes, gain 4 temp hp for 1 hour.
Now...
Razzm glares at the door where the presumed miscreant Arjol has been up to no good and then - if no one steps forward to pick the lock - puts his shoulder into it.
Athletics DC 22: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
But unfortunately he's not quite strong enough to budge it. If no one else tries he'll attempt it again until he gets it open.

"Maybe we kick at the same time?"
Thevenin will Aid whoever has the highest modifier (Razzm, probably).

"Ow, my roots hurt. Maybe we can try knocking politely?"

Razzm glares at the door and then tries again.
Athletics DC 22: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Athletics DC 22: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Athletics DC 22: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
... and again and again. "Whew." he says with a bit of embarrassed chagrin.

GM Frost |

The group struggles to break down the locked door. Finally, it gives in to their efforts.
Once opened, they see that on this once a typical passenger’s cabin, this space has clearly been transformed by someone whose interests intersect with otherworldly magic. A circle of odd runes is carved into the floor, while a voluminous journal sits open atop a writing desk amidst vials of ink, the stubs of candles, and other occult trappings. Most unusual are the spaces where the cabin’s walls meet or join with the ceiling and floor. All these corners have been filled with pitch, softening the angles and giving the cabin a strange, almost organic look.
"Intruders! I know you are not from here because the crew will not dare to open my cabin forcibly!" Arjol howls. "Even if you kill me, your efforts will be moot because I transcend beyond time! And I will not allow you to ruin my plans!" he adds with malicious intent in his words.

Will DC 21: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Razzm can't help but giggle at it all!
Eyeing the strange goo in front of him, Razzm decides to leap over it and take the fight directly to Arjol. He is a cat, after all!
You can use High Jump and Long Jump as a single action instead of 2 actions. If you do, you don’t perform the initial Stride (nor do you fail if you don’t Stride 10 feet).
◆ DC 15 Athletics (Long Jump): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 Razzm's speed is 20' so I *think* per my reading of Long Jump that this means he can leap 20' horizontally, rather than the 30' of the die result, but it's moot since the room is only 15' deep. I've placed him where I think he would end up but GM of course adjudicate as you see fit. I will note that this is the first time I've had a chance for him to actually use that feat and as a real life cat dad, it makes me proud :-)

Razzm laughs but restrains himself a bit. He then gracefully leaps above the gooey creature to get in touch with the occultist. Arjol's eyes widen in surprise that the feline Pathfinder is jumping straight to him, poking the same but missing to bash with his shield. 12 P damage
Ebiten raises shield, enters into a stance and moves close toward the entrance of the room.
