I got my action cost flip-flopped. Timber sentinel was the 2 action ability and the elemental blast was only 1. That means that the dragon took 4 less damage and should be at -103 damage.

The protector tree spell is unclear on aoe damage but I think it is safe to assume that the tree would take aoe damage. Most posts I see online suggest just saying the tree fails the save and takes full damage.

You have convinced him of the futility of his endeavors. The dragon is willing to stand down and describe that he was approached by a pair of pirates who promised him an island of his own for "...nothing more than the capture of the captain of this ship."

He describes the pirate Enava "as a woman that looks like a human but smells like a demon" - and the pirate Sharkskin "as a person that looks like a demon but smells like a human."

Beyond that he knows nothing more and flies back into the tempest dejected at the spurned deal.

Once you have had a chance to heal, you rendezvous with Cap'n Benarry. In the captain’s quarters, Calisro wrings water out of her hat. “So, we found these potions - shared memory potions - in that locked chest,” she says as she flops her hat back on her head. “I drank one and saw the Whippoorwill under attack from the orca that just hit us. There’s a dozen more bottles. While you tend to your wounds, take some time and see if there’s more to learn.”

As Calisro hands them over, she pauses and bites her lip. "Hmm. These here are the important last moments of the crew: Captain Atyi, First Mate Quint and such....so by rights they should go to the next of kin..."

She hesitates solemnly.

"...However, given the emergency the Snapdragon is in, I’ll just 'ave to make any needed apologies once we’re all back on solid land."

@Lootie Oops, misread your society check as a save, so you have less damage then.

As Lootie imbibes the whitish-yellow colored liquid he sees... A lightning bolt shooting from the clear skies ultimately hitting a lightning rod. Captain Atyl calls the crew to lock the rod into a chest. The distant looming figure of Abendego’s Squall is far off from the ship but approaching quickly.

"Go'an swab the decks of all the blood, if yer too scared to test your wits, son!" Calisro jests to the fighter.

If someone wants to try Dennis' potion too, feel free... (maybe Ra'uf again?)

Dorgath quicklly patches up the most injured, thankful for Slipps help with their healing spell. Once he has a moment he will take one of the shared memory potions and drink it down.

Dorgath swallows the blue-greenish potion and fades into another memory... This recollection is of a lightning rod being carried to the Whippoorwill. Its journey starts on an altar within a temple, through an underwater passage out of it, and then back onto the ship.

Yes, between the healing done so far and all of Salissa's balms, you will be fully healed after this encounter.

It probably won't make any difference since we've already moved on to the next encounter but...

Once the dragon leaves Salissa summons up some healing waters to mend her companion's wounds. One she's satisfied she dives over the side to check for any damage to the ship. She concentrates below the waterline on the starboard side then disappears to check out the bottom of the ship. She remains underwater for an alarming amount of time before surfacing and climbing back to the deck.

Salissa drinks the vaguely brownish memory and sees... a still-human Averill Quint staring at a strange circular lock on the door. He moves the rings around but clearly fails to unlock it. Eventually, he calls the crew to start searching for a second entrance.

Still a bottle left to drink, anyone up for a second gulp?

“Oi, oi,” a sailor peers hesitantly into the quarters. He shouts as he tries to catch anyone’s attention. “Down in cargo, I saw a weird crate. It was making noises. Crates aren’t supposed to do that. I know the Captain’s a bit busy but could you all give it a look-see?”

Calisro nods in assent and off you go.

Dennis easily spots a crate with a strange sigil etched upon it.

It will take a Disable check (DC 27 Thievery) to open the crate with gradual release of its magical energy, or dispel magic (at least 2nd rank, counteract DC 23) to dispel the rune upon it.

He pulls out a L3 scroll of dispel magic (free PFS item).

Checks sheets. So no one with Thievery it seems... If there is no other way to Dispel Magic, we only have a couple other ways to handle this. One of you could open the crate with a Reflex save (probably risking the contents inside...), you could ask around to the other sailors (Diplomacy to Gather Information) to see who might have loaded the crate, or you could just report its location back to leadership.
