Ovidivo |
Reflex (E) vs. DC 18: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
"That's enough of that," Ovidivo growls before stepping back and slicing at the (red) mercenaries. He catches a cartridge in his pistol as he draws back his blade. Then he fires the gun into the mercenaries.
◆ Step
◆ Reloading Strike: +1 Chain Sword (T): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Magic, Slashing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
◆ Strike: +1 Dueling Pistol (E): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20 If the sword hit and red is still up, red is off-guard to this; if red is dispersed, blue is the target and not off-guard.
Magic, Piercing (concussive): 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 = 13

It appears I thought the squads have more hp than they actually do. Red was dispersed last round so the damage to Ovidivo and Ulfgar didn't happen (which is fortunate since they both failed their saves!) :)
Three more force missiles spring from Achurius' fingers and slam into the Blue squad. Ulfgar's axe and dagger also cut into the squad and reduce their number.
Cirri and Lorqinor hurl more elemental energy but neither connects.
Kosh shouts more words of encouragement to his companions and rattles the Blue Squad, making them unsure of themselves. Ovidivo lashes out with his sword, but it doesn't hit. His pistol, however, further reduces the size of the squad.
"Easy, men! Form up and move out! Then let's get those two!"
The squad forms up and moves east before unleashing their clubs on Ulfgar and Kosh.

Ulfgar Ironhead |
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Ulfgar takes the brunt of the clubbing, barely avoiding any of the blows that come at him.
But now it's time to give as good as he got.
He begins by making them his Prey then starts swinging.

Ulfgar takes the hit like a dwarf and gives back more than he got. At this point, the Blue Squad has been thoroughly humiliated by this solitary dwarf. Their morale breaks and the individual mercenaries break and head for the hills.
COMBAT OVER!
Loading the cargo on the ship is uneventful and Pallomar is extremely grateful to you for saving him from the rabid basilisk fans. He promises that you will be prominently mentioned in his next article for Golarion's Finest. Zarta is overseeing the loading of more important cargo, but takes a moment to thank you for delivering the cargo intact. She is impressed enough that she gives each of you a book on Thuvian history.

Thanks for playing all! Thanks also for bearing with me while I dealt with a flu that knocked me sideways for a week...

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
"See? Violence doesn't work when your foe is better at it!" Cirri screeches at the Red Ruffians and Blue Bullies.
"Wow, a history book. It's like having mentors at your fingertips." Cirri bows deeply before thumbing through the tome. "My Parent says we fly on the currents of our ancestors, and we live on through our descendants."
It was a pleasure to play alongside all of you. Thanks for the game.
