Juriya, pretty much futilely with how astute Isabel and Persephone are, decides to have a look for herself.

Donimah follows, keeping more towards the middle of the group. She holds her head high once again, and looks about not so much to watch for danger as the others, but to see if there were more discoveries to be made about these clearly Thassilonian tunnels and what purpose the greater complex might have had.

Ano sticks to the front of the group, keeping her eyes, ears and nose out for any potential danger. Her fur is still bristled in anxiety, and every now and then her purple spots flicker a light cyan.


Persephone seems to have entered a state of cosmic synchrony. From the sound of the room, it seems to be quite large, over 50 ft wide. The floor and walls are made of stone like the corridor where you are, but some of the sound is being distorted. Maybe something wooden? Quickly she sees that there is a wooden platform is at the same level as the group, but the floor is 10 feet below. On the floor there are many cages, with skeletons inside. After a better assessment, she sees that the floor is 55ft x 35ft, but it's longer on the middle, that is, on the sides, it is 55ft x 15ft. The wooden platform spans 15ft from the entrance with a flight of stairs at each side. It continues a bit rickety from the north end then turns east into a stone corridor that continues.

Down below, there are two sinspawn that are arguing with each other on the eastern side of the room.

I can't believe Persephone speaks Aklo. Who the hell speaks Aklo?

Aklo:

- "No, this is my skull!"
- "No, it's mine! I found it first!"
- "Well, master said that I am in charge, so I say it's mine!"

Juriya also hears them speaking.

The well traveled Varisian huddles with the team.
It appears that these two work for someone and they are arguing over who gets to collect the skulls.

The Shaman only smiles awaiting for the group to make the initial move....

Zeldrith follows close behind the others as they move into the next room, one hand on the hilt of his sword. At Persephone's words, he grins, feigned concern in his voice. "It's never a good thing when friends fight. By the time I'm done with them, they can each hold their own skulls - problem solved!"

Juriya whispers to the rest of the group, "let me know when we surprise them," she says as she debates whether to use a crossbow or finally test out her bombs in combat.


@Zeldrith: Party isn't in the next room yet. Persephone just got a good peak with her darkvision and amazing Perception roll.

Persephone shakes her brown hair in disappointment. The Varisian points at the two Sinspawn speaking about skull trophies! The Shaman makes a display of destruction of them before preparing to advance with that intent....
We have been confronted with these already. They were not talkative save for spilling foul sin. Be prepared to destroy them.

Arrian is willing to be first through the door if you all want. If we think they'll target Ano maybe place her in the middle-ish? So they'd have to bypass Zel and Arrian to get to her?

Sorry about that. We'll need someone to use their surprise round action to open the door I think and then start moving in or do we wait for them at the door, funnel them to us?

Welp, here's hoping I don't die.

Juriya rushes in, and hurls one of her bombs at the Sinspawn, hoping to do some decent amount of damage to both creatures. She figures, with Ano in front, she'll be quickly ambushed again if they decide to wait. Planning is certainly not her forte.

Attack v. Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

DC 15 reflex save for half damage. Assuming they fail, front one takes 2, back one takes 1.


Red gets no reflex save, only splash targets. At least that's what it says on the Alchemist's bomb feature.

GM only:

Green Dex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Red bite vs Juri: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Just as the sinspawn are moving into action, Juriya steps in and expertly throws a bomb that... came out of nowhere. It hits the front one on the arm and splatters some back too. Without a second thought, they move up the stairs and aim their oddly shaped mouths at the young woman.

Juriya takes 8 bludgeoning damage and has to make 2 DC 12 Will saves. If either fails, read spoiler below.

If Juriya fails either save:

You are overwhelmed by thoughts of rage. This is so powerful that you are sickened for 1d6 ⇒ 4 minutes.

If you fail both saves, you are staggered for 1 round.

Usually yes but I did it a week or two ago and it changed the value of the roll, which I'd never seen before. So I was erring on the side of caution. :)

Is it a poison? It came from a bite, but it's also a will save, so I don't know.

My computer decided to die, so I figured I should put next round's combat up to speed things along in case I don't check before we finish the round. Going to need an opposed SM from yellow to see if they take the extra 5. Juriya takes a 5-ft step SE, but I can't do that on mobile it seems.

Juriya just barely manages to fight through the inflicted Wrath to deliver a blow to one of the Sinspawn that had bitten her, her eyes welling with anger as she takes a step back to avoid further damage. "Sucks I can't get anything OUT OF THIS," she screams as she's bitten.


It's a Supernatural ability, not a poison. Moved you for ya.

GM only:

SM: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The sinspawn totally misreads Juriya's movement and she is able to land a well positioned blow. It is very hurt but still standing.

Zeldrith scowls as the party charges forwards to meet the sinspawn head-on, brandishing weapons. He advances more cautiously, raising his weapon in a defensive stance as his crimson eye flashes white with arcane power. "Not so reckless, friends. These creatures are dangerous, and where there's two soldiers, there's more - trust me."
