"Maybe they ran away. Or they ran straight to Gaedren. Who's to know. Let's go see that boat."

Foxy Quickpaw |

Stepping out through the southern door and walking along the wooden pier you reach the ship. The rotten deck of this ancient sailing ship seems to be barely intact; its hull is worn and thick with seaweed and barnacles. The ship is held together primarily by the layers of old rope that lash it securely to the pilings that support the fishery and the nearby boardwalk. The rickety walkway leads along the ship’s starboard, a foot below its railing. A single wooden door leading into the aft cabin bears a crude painting of a red fish on its surface.

Tisha Nerifaren |

Sorry it's been quite a week at work.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Nope I can't see any whatever we missed, either.
I don't like the look of that ship, but I don't see anywhere else Garden and his lackies can be. Anyone know what that red fish is?
Step lightly if you do go in, it looks like we could fall through the bottom of this ship if we put too much weight on it.

![]() |

"I don't think the lightness of our step is going to make any difference," Ernhild eyes Briggi critically. "I'm fine with letting someone lighter walk the plank first."
Both dwarves are of solid build, and wearing extremely heavy armour.

Foxy Quickpaw |

The air in this room is thick and musty. Thick sheets of cobwebs hang from the walls and mounds of blankets, cushions, and straw clutter the floor. To the south, a narrow flight of stairs leads down into the ship’s hold.
In the webs hides a cat sized, long legged, brown spider.

Narciso the Sorcerer |

Narciso jogs back down he pier (so he has angle to see past the boat) and drops prone, too see if there is a lower level to the fishery that we haven't gotten into...
@Foxy, could you update the map; presumably we have been through the brown block with the red border...
He reports "There's definitely a lower level to that place - presumably there's a hidden way down. But if we can't find it, there's another solution..." he grins unpleasantly "Get the lambs out and then set the building on fire. Bet the rats will come running out of the hole then."

![]() |

Ernhild stares at Narciso in disbelief. "And you prevent it from spreading how?" She sighs. "Let's go check that out."

Tisha Nerifaren |

Plus if we burn it down, we lose anything we might recover that the Lambs took. And they may escape into the river. I don’t want to chasing some rowboat across the river to catch Lamm.

Narciso the Sorcerer |

Narciso digs in his pack for a rope to get them down to the lower level of the pier. As he does he replies "The river isn't going to catch fire, and there are no other buildings close enough..." [ooc](There are no other buildings shown on the map). He wraps the center of the rope around one of the bollards a couple of times, and then taking the ends, he rappels down to the lower level of the pier.
Climb, take 10: 10 = 10 vs DC 5 - rope with the bollard to brace against

Foxy Quickpaw |

A narrow space exists under the fishery, with about three feet of room between the floor of the eastern side of the building and the languid, foamy river water below. Wooden pilings support the building, and thick mats of moss and cobwebs hang from ropes and rusted chains between them. A wooden walkway floats on the river’s surface, winding along the inner wall of pilings that supports the building’s frame above. The walkway leads from the sodden ship to the east all the way west to a small two-and-a-half-foot-square door that leads into an understructure below the fishery’s land-bound half. The pilings below this understructure are densely arrayed, leaving only narrow gaps into the water below that area.

Seeing the others climbingg down to some floating dock, Tisha joins them.

Foxy Quickpaw |

The small door is locked. DC20
After unlocking it you finally get to see the secret hiding spot of Lamm. The air in this large room is chilly and stinks of the river, thanks to a huge opening in the floor that drops away to the river shore three feet below. Several pilings emerge from the waters to support the roof eight feet above the floor, with mossy ropes slung between them. In two places, rusty manacles hang from the ropes over the water. Two five-foot-wide walkways cross the hole to the other side of the chamber, where a collection of old cabinets, lockboxes, and piles of clutter are strewn about. Chipped porcelain plates, a cracked goblet, badly rusted silverware, an old wooden shield with a crossbow bolt embedded in it, the odd dinged helm, and other “treasures” litter the floor of this side of the chamber. Three tables heaped with clutter stand amid this mess. In the southwest corner, a wooden door provides access to a walled-off section.
At one of the tables sits Lamm, and Yagrin stands in front of him arguing about the situation.

Tisha Nerifaren |

Tisha whispers back:
I’ll open but someone else needs to lead.
She looks pointedly at the dwarves.
When the others agree Tisha tries to slowly and carefully sneak up to the door.
