This is an experiment with homebrewed PF2 Mythic rules of the Wrath of the Righteous AP

Retraining House Rule:

Retraining generally takes a week of downtime. And you have to have found someone to pay to help you retrain. In some Adventure Paths (APs) there is enough downtime to actually make this viable (I'm looking at you, KingMaker, which had months of downtime). I'm not really seeing enough downtime in Wrath of the Righteous (WotR) to make this work.

Here is what I propose:

The PC makes a declaration to the GM/table that they plan to retrain out of X and retrain into Y.

Immediately, they lose X.

After a week of in-game time, they make a skill check (generally the DC of which is the Hard DC for the level of Y):

Critical Success: They can immediately begin using Y with no penalties
Success: They can immediately begin using Y, but with a -2 Retraining penalty related to using Y. This penalty goes away after one week of in-game time.
Failure: You still have lost X, and can immediately start a new week of training into Y
Critical Failure: You still have lost X, and must wait an in-game week before restarting training into Y.

For instance, if Harry the level 8 Rogue wanted to retrain out of a general feat taken at level 3 and replace it with a level 2 feat, then the DC would be 18 (16 for level 2 and +2 for Hard DC). If instead it was being replaced by a level 7 feat, the DC would be 25.

If Harry's feat was a Thievery-related feat, then the applicable skill would be Thievery. But, if the feat was related to something else (let's say Toughness), then the applicable skill would be different (in Toughness' case, it would be Fortitude). Non-obvious applicable skills would have to be discussed with the GM.

This works if it's a reposition instead of a shove. It's odd getting used to it because it's new in the remaster, but it makes sense as an option.

Okay. Then, you'd have to be within melee range, rather than 10 feet south of the foe to be moved because the reposition uses your free hand rather than your weapon. I assume that your purpose is to get the foe out of the corner so that she can be flanked. I'm gonna take the liberty of moving you to directly south of her, and repositioning her 5 feet southwest. If you'd prefer some other repositioning, let us know.

The first thing Obahi realizes is that the rope ladder, although rickety, is fine for climbing down.

The air in this cavern smells of damp and mold. Water glistens on the walls, and collects in a stagnant pool along one wall.

The second thing he realizes is that there are two Mongrelman Traitors in this room.

Obahi completes moving into the floor of the room, and the Red one fires at him from behind the barricade. The barricade provides lesser cover.

I'm not contesting the odd posturing. That much is fairly obvious, but would the barricades really cover their heads? Wouldn't shooting from above negate their cover? How high are the barricades?

Virgil is able to get ten feet down the ladder.

Not sure if I can step into the corner NE of the green archer. If that is possible, I would do that to try and flank. That would add a trip trait to the attacks.

Solras' first bullet tears into the mongrelman's *other* shoulder, and the second bullet seals the deal with a strike to the neck.

COMBAT OVER

Krakas, the wizard and Perla, the ranger have always been with you. You have never even heard of Niall.

In the room that the mongrelman retreated to you see three copper bowls filled with glowing coals hanging from the ceiling of this long, natural cavern. The braziers fill the chamber with warmth and soft orange light. In the center of the chamber stands a block of stone that serves as a table, lined with wooden chairs. An enormous bloodstain, maybe a week old, darkens the stone’s surface.

There is a door to the north and one to the south.
