Male halfling wolf-rider

Keeping his knees tight on Storms shoulders as the wolf hops about waiting to attack, Rory holds the wolf tight until Ameiko moves. Having an open shot, Rory urges Storm to move forwards into her vacated location, "Get 'em Storm." As Storm leaped forwards, snapping at the red elemental, Rory slashes at it with his fancy new scimitar.

Durgan moves like a juggernaut to the front and smacks purple - who does in fact drop, and drop hard - the orb of fire still smoldering as he begins to bleed. Kisaiya holds her position for now and plies the wand one more time - with Desna’s blessing. Mukluk tries to down the bird with a warm mucous-y ball of spittle. Rory leaps into the hole, but does not hit this time around. Ameiko stabs at the air elemental she can reach before 5’ stepping back to let Rory in.

Rory and Storm take out the red elemental with aplomb! Ameiko shrugs, and puts her blade away, taking out her bow once again. With only one foe, and a small one at that, she stops inspiring.

The angry bird targets Mukluk again, seemingly intent on torching him.

Durgan steps back to heal Mukluk a lot. Kisaiya plunks another arrow, this one landing a little deeper as the bird considers departure at this juncture. Mukluk connects with the fine feathered bird, burning it badly! Rory skims the bird, but it bleeds well having lost many feathers to the burning. Ameiko continues to inspire as she also shoots!

Ameiko fails to take the bird out... though she might have as weak as it's currently looking.

Out of fire, and very nearly out of health, the bird makes a break for it. As the goo from Moose sticks to the feathers that are left, the bird only manages a half double move. So if you lean a little over the railing you may each have one parting shot, with cover, as the strange creature tries to escape your clutches!

Realizing Storm was bothering Ameiko, Rory shifts the wolf towards the hand rail, chastising the wolf. "Leave her alone Storm, we gotta get this stupid bird." As he speaks he loads his staff sling and fires over the rail at the retreating bird.

"Blasted Bird!" Realizing the bird is going to get away, Rory curses at the thing. as he returns the staff sling to it's scabbard, he makes a mental note to purchase a bow to replace the traditional halfling weapon.

Letting Storm stand and try to lick Ameiko's hand, he turns in the saddle and asks, "Mukluk, do you think Moose would mind you 'picking' the big guy, that way if Durgan is going to 'channel healing it won't raise him as well?"

CdG Damage: 3d8 + 39 ⇒ (5, 3, 6) + 39 = 53 Not sure exactly when the encounter ends for purposes of Deadly Juggernaut's duration, but even at 3d8+24 it would likely be enough.

He lets Mukluk and the others finish off any ninjas that they wish to.

He then Channels to heal the party. Channel #2: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) = 10

"I have expended my most potent battle magic. I can still fight, but I will not be as effective as I have been. Still, I know that all of you are more than capable."

Deadly Juggernaut has ended, but got some good use out of it. Bull's Strength and Shield have 1 more encounter, Barkskin is 1 whole dungeon, and Resist Energy has 2 more encounters.

Then there’s a hidden pouch, under the mattress of course, with 450gp nestled in a leather pouch. Perhaps a payment for something?

As Durgan and Mukluk finish off the wounded, Rory, using his knees, guides Storm into the 'big man's' room. Dismounting Storm he begins to search the room. As he lifts the jade raven he notices Storm sniffing at the bottom of the mattress. Moving towards the bed he drops the statuette in his saddlebags and asks the wolf, "You find something boy?" Half climbing under the funky mattress, Rory finds a leather pouch. Pulling it out he opens it up and dumps out a handful of coins, showing it to the others he asks, "What do you all think? Payment for something?"

As he drops the pouch in his saddlebags and remounts his wolf, he wonders aloud, "I'm curious to know who this fellow was." As he wonders he turns the wolf towards the door down the hallway pointing west. As he inspects the door, he adds, "Let's make sure nothing is behind us before we climb further, yeah?"

”Well that sure was a brawl.” She’s honestly a little shocked everyone—her most of all—pulled out of that without anyone dying or losing a limb. However, she thinks better of saying so, not wanting to kill the mood.

She nods as Rory presents the money. ”Somebody brought him on as extra muscle, perhaps? A werebear would be suited for mercenary work, I suppose. And that’s a fair amount of coin, too, so whoever’s paying must be well-heeled.”

The door Rory is next to is already open. The room is the vast upstairs open to the floor below. Mostly an eating hall. There are a large number of birds here, very angry birds, but for now they sit and brood.

Ameiko suggests, "We should see what's above, where the bird came from." as she readies her blade, and properly secures her bow.

Nodding in agreement with Kisaiya, "Well-heeled indeed."

As he peaks around the corner into the larger room, Rory hears Ameiko's recommendation. Using his knees to turn Storm, Rory shuts the door behind him, nodding towards the now closed door. "There seems to be two rooms at the other end of the building, but there's a slew of those ravens in the rafters as well."

Storm stops for a second to lick Kisaiya's hand before heading towards the steps. Rolling his eyes at his wolf, Rory draws his fancy new scimitar, "Storm and I will head up first. Keep a keen eye out."

”Yeah, not sure why the bear would need so much money. Maybe this is the bear market I’ve been hearing so much about,” he notes as he trudges up the stairs.

”If we see that birdy-bird again, remind me to give it a piece of my mind,” he grumbles, annoyed that it got away.
