my bad on that one, didn't think he went that far away. that changes a bit, instead Noro will have had to charge to reach yellow so that's another -2 on Noro's AC for the charge

"Hitome Sama," Guachen says with a respectful bow, retrieving his weapon and disappearing with his dimensional step to the far end of the arena. It's notable that, in spite of being the one who took the severe dual beating, he is merely shaken by Ai Lua's bloody display of power.
The crowd seems exultant at the furious display so far. Hitome's formal vanquishing of her opponent draws cheers, but the healing displayed a few moments later tempers it somewhat.
Watching her opponent limp away, Hitome recalls that many monks develop Fēnggé bàgōng techniques, colloquially called "style strikes," and that those who follow the so-called "Jìnyù fēnggé" or "ascetic style" can use such capabilities with weapons as easily as their fists. The particular maneuver that Guachen had used was called a Xuánzhuǎn tī, or "spin kick," where the user spins around rapidly and delivers an unexpected strike.
You can use the chosen melee weapon with any class ability that can be used with an unarmed strike, such as an unchained monk’s style strike ability. In addition, you are treated as a monk with a level equal to your character level for the purpose of determining the number of times per day that you can use feats with uses per day that depend upon your monk level, such as the Stunning Fist or Perfect Strike feats.
Seeming not to care about the cluster of combat and the opponent already throwing in the towel, the Iron Maiden gives chase to her quarry and delivers a powerful blow to the man, who looks nearly as scared of her as he does of Ai Lua.
Jonovan is lucky that Shuko Kien is currently panicking, otherwise he'd be casting in a threatened square and provoke from him.
Jonovan casts a spell that begins causing Noro to grow to giant size. The crowd seems almost full-up on spectacle by this point, though.
In an odd turn, Hitome's vanquishing earns a Victory Point from the Helpful Crowd, but her healing check drops them back down to merely Friendly. Noro's crit boosts them back up to Helpful, but Jonovan's check isn't enough to loop things back around for another VP. Still, that gives you all your first match-earned Victory point and the crowd is still Helpful!
"Bakemono," Shuko Kien says, dropping his sansetsukon to the ground and disappearing from sight. He reappears on the exact opposite side of the pavilion and leans against the wall panting and heaving. The warrior with the kyoketsu shoge similarly lets the spinning rope drop to the ground, running swiftly away from the witnessed brutality to (hopefully) regroup.
The only one left standing is the blind warrior with the kusarigama, who only heard what happened but did not see it. Dauntless, he steps forward and hefts his weapon. "For the glory of Quain!" he shouts before turning a spinning mass of blade, spike, and flame. From within this human whirlwind come four strikes in quick succession. Hitome is able to parry the first and the third, but the second and fourth strikes--each with the kama part of the weapon--both score telling blows against her--but not as much as he might have expected. As the man's eyes clear, he sees the Blade of heaven still standing even after taking several telling blows.
With a 26 vs Hitome's AC for 17 slashing damage and 6 fire damage, and then another 26 against Hitome's flat-footed AC for 13 slashing damage and 1 fire damage. I didn't notice that Hitome also had fire resistance! Awesome. Hitome needs to make a DC 17 Fortitude save or be stunned for 1 round.

Lam Ai Lua |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

A quick look around the battlefield from the silver-eyed warrior, shows a field clearly favoring their band. But battlefields are fickle. She knows this. Ai Lua believed herself winning that fateful day Noro bloodied her nose into putty.
A lesson learned hard is remembered well.
Jonovon and Noro were all the way on the other side of the arena, and Hitome was right here, so she concentrated her words on her.
"Honorable Monk." she says loud and clear with respect "Quain is indeed glorious, but you face the very heavens itself today. Hitome Murakami, THE Blade of Heaven." Her voice carries her bardic magic. Powerful desires for glory inspire her peers, and now with weavings of darker tones full fear and doubt for her foes.

The Petal Sharp Against The Moonlight moves quickly as her last word takes form, ducking under a flung kami as best she can until she is behind the lone monk. "You face the Heavens, given perfect form. Can you withstand all she can give, honorable monk? All alone?" she says like silk. Sparing a glance to his comrades, she hopes her magic finds purpose in their spirits long enough that they can take another one down.

Hitome Murakami |

At Lua's words, filled with magic and power, resonating throughout the arena, a hint of a smile falls across Hitome's radiant features. Her movement is a blur, a single fluid step to match The Petal Sharp Against The Moonlight's, once again flanking her opponent, as The Blade of Heaven lives up to her adulation.
The first strike, a jumping punch directly to the face, sizzling with searing acid, followed immediately by a palm strike to the chest. The momentum of both attacks flows into a merciless spinning back-kick, that strikes with such force, that her last attack completely misses the mark.

Jonovan Wick |

Jonovan vaguely recalled some contest rules about not looting enemy equipment, like unattended monk weapons lying on the ground. So the sorcerer decides to assist with their maintenance by providing a good thick layer of anti-rust protective coating. He flies over to the kyoketsu shoge, and casts a simple Grease.
Move Action: Maintain altitude of 40ft. Fly to the square above where Blue Monk dropped his Weapon. I can't remember where he was, so my token has not been moved on the map yet. Also, if Jonovan can figure out that 40ft isn't high enough to avoid AoOs, whether on his own, or by being informed by a helpful party member, he will ascend to 50ft.
Standard Action: Cast Grease. Since the weapon is unattended, there is no initial save. DC 18 Reflex each round anybody wants to pick it up and use it.
