Some of the Starfinders squeeze into the restroom to try to figure out what just happened.

@Saja: It looks like a ceiling air vent.

Antethriss:
An inspection of the cubicle only turns up the grate that once covered the air vent.

Oshari:
Despite its quick disappearance, you get a good enough look to realise that it's just a squox! Squox are furry, vulpine animals roughly 2 feet in length and weighing around 15 pounds. They have four legs, squirrel-like tails, and heads that vaguely resemble foxes. They’re among the most intelligent animal species in the Pact Worlds, exhibiting social behaviors and hierarchies along with a vast vocal repertoire. They’re said to be quite clever if confronted by predators, but known to make great pets. Still . . . this one looked almost feral, and you could almost swear its shadow moved a half-instant behind the squox itself.

At the mention of the squox, Ariadne's eyes light up, and the nanobot swarm frantically starts to look around for the creature. Upon not finding anything, however, she slumps a bit, making very large sad puppy eyes in disappointment.

Saja has a closer look at the sickly plants What do squox eat anyway?

Oshari, Felicis, and Saja enter the room and carefully examine the plants.

Oshari, Felicis, and Saja:
You notice tiny footprints in soil and nibbled berries around the plants. You can attempt a Life Sciences check to learn more.

Saja:
Careful! You just noticed these plants swaying on their own accord, but unlike the ones by the entryway, these look tough and stringy with sharp, serrated edges. If they lashed out, one of your allies could be seriously hurt. In game mechanics, this is treated as a trap, and you could try to disable it with an Engineering or Mysticism check.

As Saja warns about the plants, he tries to sever whatever magic is infusing them. But the connection is too strong! Suddenly, the sickly looking plants become fully animated, their sharp and serrated edges lashing through the air at him! The tendrils wrap around the human and start to squeeze tightly!

Saja, the disable attempt fails. You get hit and take 3 S. In addition, you have the entangled condition and will take constriction damage at the end of every round you remain entangled.

@Everyone: We'll say the circular planter in the center of the room is where the tendril is emanating from that has entangled Saja. Attacking the vines won't have any effect, but an Engineering or a Mysticism check (each taking a full action) while adjacent to it could free him.

Entangled*:
You are ensnared. Being entangled impedes your movement but does not entirely prevent you from moving unless the bonds are anchored to an immobile object or tethered by an opposing force. You move at half speed, you cannot run or charge, and you take a –2 penalty to your AC, attack rolls, Reflex saving throws, initiative checks, and Dexterity-based skill and ability checks. You can use the Escape aspect of the Acrobatics skill to try to free yourself.

The nerve Saja complains about the plants as he straightens out his clothing, this could have been most dangerous.

Saja makes a quick sweep of the patient rooms.

Saja:
You don't find a keycard, but you do find a few potentially useful things: a basic medkit, a medpatch, and one mk 1 serum of healing. More ominously, you feel like you're being followed at one point and turn around just in time to see what seems like a lump of shifting shadows on the ceiling for an instant before it disperses.

Saja moves around the rooms collecting the medical equipment Basic healing supplies. No sedatives, I'm afraid, and no sign of access cards.

When the shifting shadows make their appearance, he doesn't seem intimidated. In fact, he seems rather annoyed, and starts chastising any perceived shadow as if he's having a go at a coworker Look, if you're going to go around like this, I should warn you who you are dealing with. The Office doesn't have a lot of tolerance for this behaviour, so you can cease now, or we can do this the hard way. The hard way involves a lot of paperwork, and paperwork makes me cranky. Harsh static fills the air at a deafening volume, but a faint undercurrent of voices can be heard within the white noise! The bizarre incident stops almost as soon as it started.

Saja:
The best you can surmise is that the shadowy "clumps" might be related to what animated the plant tendrils in adjoining room.
