Following the instructions in the notebook, the Starfinders try to place the mystically-warded syringe filled with the golden substance into the proper part of the device, hoping to purge the hospital of the "venumbrites" from the Shadow Plane!
Oshari figures out how the machine works, and activates it! It begins to hum and you feel a whoosh of air as shadowy black masses seem to be pulled into it from every direction. After a few false starts, the hospital lights turn on and provide a steady glow throughout. The apparition of the lashunta woman reappears, tears of gratitude streaming down her face. Her wispy hand strokes her unconscious son's face before waving farewell. Slowly, the ghost fades away--this time, to a place of eternal rest.
Kivala Hospital is haunted no more.

Oshari, once the device seems to be working correctly, breathes a sigh of relief. As the ghostly figure waves goodbye, Ariadne pops up from his shoulder to give a very enthusiastic wave, the minotaur following suit with his own more reserved wave goodbye.
"Well, that was..." He taps his foot, trying to find a word to sum up the experience. "...wildly in violation of safety protocols."
Ariadne gives him a look.
"It was. Do you want me to list the violations? I can list almost twenty off the top of my head."
The nanites raise an eyebrow.
Oshari stares at the blob, keeping eye contact for a moment, before sighing. "Fine, it was... exciting. I guess." The blob of nanites nod in response.
He turns to his colleagues, once again adopting the more professional tone he has kept for most of the mission. "Well, apart from the reports, it appears our job is about complete. It was a pleasure to work with all of you, and in the event our careers don't intersect again, I wish you all the best."

Felix just observes the event as it unfolds after Oshari does his thing properly.
"We are sorry about your son," they blurt out, though it might sound a bit flat and unapologetic.
"You are right, let us report back to our client and get our reward." they tell the law officer after talking about violations of safety.

Saja looks at the ghostly woman comforting her son, picking a card from his deck. As the figure starts to fade he speaks, with a voice full of empathy Doctor Sikooli? () It is time. You can move on, you no longer have to wander this universe. I have an appointment for you at my tea shop.
He puts the card to the ground, on the spot that was just occupied by the ghostly figure. The name on the card reads, in red ornamental letters, 'Dr Sikooli'.
When he is done he turns to the group Yes, let's head back and collect our reward. It'd have to be quick, though, I have an appointment in the afternoon.

One wall of the giant room consists of small niches, most of them empty but some occupied by large tins. In the middle is a large table, with an uncomfortable looking woman sitting, waiting. The lanky man is holding a little pot of tea, and pours a single, minute cup from it, setting it down in front of the woman.
Drink he breaks the silence it is the first step of your passage into the afterlife.
What is it for? the woman asks.
It will help you forget the man says matter-of-factly with a soothing undertone.
And if I refuse? the woman asks, with some tremble in her voice
You won't, the lanky man says, then explains you wouldn't be the first to refuse at first. Just realise, this life is behind you now. Those you've left behind will have to move on, and so will you, forever separated from their existence. There is no point in lingering on the past. Drink, and you can start the cycle anew.

The nuar glances at Saja, cocking his head in confusion. For a second, he opens his mouth to speak, mind full of questions, but decides perhaps he is better off not knowing the answer.
